contrary to what most people believe animals are capable of feeling basic emosions, i use to have a dog thet would pop my daughters balloons and he would sit ther and whimper and cry until she would say its ok its okay buddypoo (she named him). and he would go get more from the living room and give them to her, :). and ive seen other dogs and cats display this behavior... so dont think just because they cant speak they cant show.

The dog knows that it's alpha is talking 2 him in a stern voice & u can 'read' the dog's body language to be submissive. Add to the fact that the dog can recognize what it chewed on and the man's "bad dog" voice, can lead 2 a solid interpretation that the dog is feeling bad.
