the heat shield closest to the headlight totally kills the ram air effect that the trailblazer ss offers from the vent in the grill under the passenger headlight. when i installed this intake i looked thru the vent and seen the black heat shield was blocking the path of cold air from outside! i removed it and cut a hole in the heat shield and when i looked thru the grill vent i could see the filter like its supposed to be! why did k&n block this? i seen a difference with the cut. check into it.
