WOW keep in mind that these are two really small acoustic instruments wielded by masters. What sound! What vibrations in the air (what with a fukin orchestra backing them.) WOW. My goodness.. We all live for this.
@FuglyFatt The problem is that people don't consider the bows. I would be much more interested to know what bows they were playing with but I bet nobody knows! The bow is much more important than the violin.
Gave me goose bumps. Spectacular, timeless music composed by a timeless genius; conducted and performed by talented geniuses of their own times. Take note of just how well syncronized the two maestros were at around 3:03 mark.
I think that with these luxury people, we were out like papparazies ! No ? I cannot figure myself at this place with all these glasses ! Were they nerds ?It's a fact : Vivaldi wrote about 500 violin concerti; maybe with the same perspective at large for most of them !

@fireemblemaddi You may be thinking of a very early 1980s recording titled “Isaac Stern: 60th Anniversary Celebration” of a live concert with the NY Philharmonic. Mehta conducted w/ Stern/Perlman/Zukerman. The 1st half featured works of Vivaldi/Bach/Mozart with two or three of the soloists and was available CD/cassette (not sure if it still is). The 2nd half was Stern playing the Brahms concerto. The entire concert together was available on VHS - don’t know if it has made it to DVD/ BlueRay.
@hectorh29 There is an amazing album containing this concerto and other played by Isaac Stern and David Oistrakh. It is a two disc album. The first disc has the four seasons and the second disc has assorted double violin concertos. It is titled "Vivaldi: The Four Seasons & Double Concertos / Isaac Stern and David Oistrakh" I would highly recommend it.
I am SO lucky to be seeing Itzhak Perlman in concert this weekend!!!!!! I really need this version on cd but can't find it anywhere - can't even rip for free anymore!!! Thanks for posting this, it's AWESOME!!
I reluctant to consider him disable. See, he has some difficulties for waking, OK. But if you consider his great capacity for playing the violin, we are the disable no him.
By the strict definition, yes, he is disabled. Fortunately, disabled isn't a whole body/mind condition. Steven Hawkings is highly disabled, and amazingly gifted. The same with Perlman. His disability does not affect his playing, so it is a non-issue when discussing his awesome talent and skill.
I reluctant to consider him disable. See, he has some difficulties for waking, OK. But if you consider his great capacity for playing the violin, we are the disable no him.
