ESTE DISCO es el mas ROCKERO de TEARS FOR FEARS Roland Raoul And The Kings Of Spain CD 1995 SIEMPRE LO ESCUCHO porque suena a guitarras mas potentes a ROCK AND ROLL
anyone know why Roland/TFF slipped into obscurity after this 1995 CD until reuniting w/Curt ~2005? Elementral and RATKOS are great ... better than the 80's TFF IMO. He was going strong and just sort of quit. Burn-out? Financial woes? Wanted to spend time with the family?
I keep reading "Screw Reviews" but we must remember this record received massive praise from critics but shunned by the public. I have always had my theory as too why and I think the record title was a big part of it's demise. The record was bloody brilliant and should have been recognized back during it original release. It has since gone "gold" more than 10 years after it release as many people are now discovering it.
@mistacramer You know I remember one of the BeeGees saying that every new decade there's this attitude in the music industry that "Everybody who was big in the last decade, get in the back!" It's possible RAKOS ran into this problem, there was just too much competition from the "new" music. It's not fair but that's the way it goes sometimes. At least people can still get to hear the album now. :)
Being a fox type personality, I really get this song. It's like, my cat could scratch me bloody and I would still love him. My dog could drag me out into traffic and I would still love him. Cutting off my nose to spite my face is right. To bad it seems some people do it for you when you refuse to do it yourself. It lyricly reminds me of another song . Don't know if I'm cursing in here when I mention this band or not but they're pretty decent I think. Dave Mathews - Funny the way it is
Worst part about it is that I never fully understand why my cat or dog do this to me. I learned long ago "life is not a cake to seperate." That would be why my self identity is a fox, instead of a cat/dog. I am very loyal, even when people hurt me time and again. Life's not Dora the explorer and my name isn't Swiper. I've never found crying out in pain to be a sin. Believe me when I say. I have no teeth and a subluxation in my spine just below the 2nd neck vertibre. How dare I defend my girl!?
Don't really care about the words, and I rarely listen to any of the poetry from any artists. But, this is pure hard rock IMO, and I love it, and have for years. Rock on TFF
u are so right and also a band thats has been underated its soda stereo from argentina if u want to hear good new music i
recommend it and if really would like to hear good music that u never heard before u better start with it but its in spanish but its sounds so great that it doesnt metter , search ella uso mi cabeza como un revolver
It seems like this whole album is underrated - I've liked every track on it so far, and I had the impression they were well past by this stage - not a bit of it!! :D
You are so right. I was just reading some of the reviews at the time it came out and they were preposterously negative. It blows my mind. Music taste is something very personal but to ignore his talent and wonderful voice is just ridiculous.
i agree! the lyrical and musical depth of this was some of TFF's finest work and that, in and of itself, is saying a hell of a lot. music critic need to put some cream on their Vs and get a real job.
drug myy kid out to see them on the 'everybody loves a happy ending' tour. he's a heavy music guy but truly appreciates the great performance. i will see them again every time they come close to tucson, az. glad you liked the cream thing. that could go either way. hahaha
I am sorry but my whole life, "seriously i got into TFF when i was like 12" I have listened to rolands voice and its amazing. Screw reviews the peoplethet slag his music never wrote a song. I love rolands lyrics always have.
Hey, married man can also have afairs with guys, especially in the crazy world of fame. I hear it happens all the time. It would be a pity though. He is sooo hot. Talking about hot... go and check him perform Sorry (my very fav song) live. Type in Sorry Tears for Fears Live in Sao Paulo 1996. You'll sweat!
Interesting idea - it's totally possible! My theory is the song is about Curt. It could be a love song, but platonic instead of romantic. Roland wrote several songs that referenced their split, some hostile (like Fish Out of Water), and others that were more regretful (like Laid So Low). Maybe there was no other way to say things like I'm sorry, I love you, I miss your friendship, while they were both still angry and hurt (or at all, you know how guys can be!). Glad they are reunited now!
On another website Roland commented that this song was "a very aggressive love song" and he would "be in deep sh*t" if he told what (who??) it was about. Very interesting...
thank you for uploading this soulful song! love the "cold"-like melody. it's so beautifully emotional. this lyrics sounds like the book 'whoever fights monsters' ("son of Sam"..)
the piano in this song is wonderful! i like the way this song just seems to merge into "Humdrum and Humble" on the cd.the two fit together very well and sound excellent turned up very loud.(probably with headphones is best because you can hear the piano and other individual things better)gives me chills!!!!
Yes, I have the 'Raoul & Kings of Spain' album. This is a great song and the lyrics are just superb. I love the way 'Los Reyes Catolicos' segues into 'Sorry'.
WONDERFUL!!! I love this song so much <3<3<3 finally, I love the album Raoul and Kings of Spain! :D
