its not a horrible disease its very funny, when i see people with alzheimers i laugh so much, and they are so weak that u can cuss them and they wont be able to fight back its great lol
I am 36 years old and I have a mutation in Presenilin I. My GrandMother, Mother and Brother also suffered from this disease. Based on this data, I have 3 years to live. This has been a curse to our family.
ღ thank you for bare-ing ur hearts on ur sleeves so that we can all try & understand what a devastating illness that alzheimer's is for the patients n families!! god bless you all ღ
my dad is a alzheimer's patient... tough staying under 1 roof.. as he is cursing and swearing for no apparent reasons every 15 mins.... under alot of mental stress
my dads actually 51 and he has this disease. he was diagnosed with it in nov. 2008. i was only 15 when i found out. im 17 now and it doesnt get any easier
Mom is in the final stages of this disease. I can not tell you the pain and heartache each day brings. Just know, someday it will end,...with Gods blessings, it will end.
my mother is actually diagnosed with PCA- posterior cortical atrophy, a rare form of Alzeimer's. Does anyone know about it? Well, its basically Alzeimer's but it affects more the visual perception. It's tough very tough, she is 56 years old and it started 5 years ago for her. She had problems at her job but we never knew it could have been that. Thank for those who write caring comments. This hits me at heart. I wish all the best who is going through this. I feel connected with all of you
i'm sorry to hear your mom has alzheimer, my mom also has it she's 58 and i'm only 18 which makes it really tough, if you want to talk to somebody about this i'll be glad to talk! and i wish you the best of all. Remember that the most important thing is not to have patient but love them and try to see beneath the shadow of the disease
it was pretty bad, he couldnt hardly remember my name, or even his daughters name, he only remembered my grandma's name, he had trouble communicating, and he mistook some people for different people, like a nurse that he mistook for his daughter. so i would say it was pretty bad, these people dont seem to have it very badly, and i dont like that, they need to portray they full effect of Alzheimer's disease.
This video actually portrays the disease in the mildest way possible. All the people that are shown are sill quite articulate, high functioning and clearly in the mildest stages. As sad as this video is the reality is far worse for most people who suffer from this condition.
Alzheimer's disease which occurs with age is not life threating however it causes memory loss, personality disorders, dementia, and disorganization and cane only be diagnosed after death (through autopsy).
my grandpa has alzheimer disease he dosent remember anyone except my grandma is really sad but he seems happy and very energetic he is very happy and that what matters
My family started to find that my dad had alzheimers when he got fired from his job. he was forgetting the software designs that he created. its a real sad thing to see.
If you have or know someone with Alzheimer's disease please come join us on ADcaregiver . com. it's a forum for caregivers of loved ones with Alzheimer's.
For anybody with Alzheimer's or know somebody with it, please read the book Still Alice by Lisa Genova. It has provided so much insight into the human side of this disease. Best wishes to everybody and their families.
That would be excellent but from what my sources tell me, professors who are also in research, we are more likely looking at 10-20 year and even then it might be a problem getting an actually cure, maybe a better treatment. But thats just what they tell me.
my grandmother has this disease.....Its so sad when I see her, she just looks at me and doesnt even rememeber my name. I pray for a cure everyday, this is just so terrible!
I great grandma has it, she gets scared of everything around her, because she doesnt know what anything is. They have these days when little things come back to them, like one time I went to her home ( for people with alzheimers) and a week later she said, how is my granddaughter. I geuss they just have those days! (Rarely though)
God gives people diseases for a reason??? are you an absolute idiot. My mother has it..you saying that is some kind of penance? your thoughts are in the dark ages. Educate your self. Your lack of humanity is a disgrace.
Sorry, why don't know what I was thinking... I didn't actually mean ge GIVES PEOPLE them... I meant he allows them to happen. I forgot to say that, sorry.
someone told me that they heard that aluminum causes it. so i guess stay away from aluminum products. she then told me that there's aluminum in deodorant. i'm not sure though.
There is currently no way to prevent or treat Alzheimer's disease. You can not stop it from happening. It is not something you catch from other people. It effects millions of people around the world.
I hope you are right, but sometimes those things can't be proven because there are some interests of big cosmetic companies that don't want things like that to get to their costumers...but like i said...i really hope it is true...because i used antiperspirants with aluminum for quite a while...I don't any more...NATURAL PRODUCTS are the best :)))
woa most of u ppl lost close people that suffered from that deasease im really sorry i cant imgaine my life with any of my parents having that desease im just sorry
my dad had alzheimers and parkinsons. he died november 24, 2006(last year), the day right after thanksgiving. we all knew it was going to happen. we just didn't know when. i wasn't ready to loose him. I miss him soooooo much. he was only 54. thanksgiving was the last time i saw him. he couldn't walk or even speak to me.
i think of him a lot now. everytime i do i can see him smiling me. i like to think that he's happy now that he's not suffering anymore.
My mother was showing signs of Alzheimers over 6 years ago. She was then diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. After one treatment of chemo her alzheimers took over. Her illness has changed everyone in our family. It has changed my life. She is here today and yet I miss her so very much. This past 3 years my only sanity it seems is working with writing songs about memory loss. God bless that a cure is found for alzheimers disease. Bless your hearts.
I live with Alzheirmer's everyday. I take care of my mother who has it. The hardest part is watching what it is doing to her.....she has just recently gotten to the stage where several times a week she cannot remember my name. Her hallucination's are becoming more frequent. It's hell. And I hate to think about what is yet to come.
yeah it is living hell, i lost my grandpa to Alzheimer's. He was dissappearing infront of me and i couldnt stop it. He forgot who i was...who my grandma was...and he would see things that wasnt there.
The last 6 months of my grandfather's life...was spent in a nursing home bc my grandma couldnt take care of him anymore.
i love him and miss him.
But he is better off than having that silent killer dissolve his brain.
This disease is a nightmare in every aspect. My heart goes out to everyone who is affected by this disease. Losing a loved one to it must be living hell.
"Somebody tell me my name. I can't remember where I live too." It's too bad something like this could happen to any person in this world. I hope this gets cure someday.
I work with end stage Alzheimer's patients , thats the least traumatic part for the sufferer , but the hardest for the significant others . I made a 'living will' to ensure i never have to receive unnecessary treatment to prolong my life when my quality of life is gone .
Sorry to hear that your grandmother and aunt are suffering from these horrible Neurodegenerative diseases. Sadly, they are not alone.
