Not an m16, m16s have something to control recoil in the full stock, i forget what it is called, and have a longer handguard to accomadate the longer barrel. Its most likely an Ar-15

That rail looks slightly wider than and M4. I wouldn't rule it out of being an HK416D. If that suppressor does not overlap the barrel this gun has all the requirements of being a mil-spec MK18 Mod 0. But still it will always be registered as an M16 or AR-15.

Most videos you see on Youtube are registered M16's with chopped down parts to make it look like an M4 series rifle. This is a M4A1 on an M16 platform. @sylentmyst It has to be a registered pre '86 sear, as they treat an auto sear as a firearm, just like suppressors (minus the '86 thing). Or a registered automatic pre '86 lower. Both are very, very costly, but if you want to be legal and have your toys, you have to pay. Personally, I'd never buy a drop in sear, I'd rather pay for the whole gun, but I don't have that type of cash to throw around, so it's a moot point. The only other way to make post '86 NFA weapons is to be a class 2 SOT 02/07.

The M4's you see by military personal are what I call genuine M4's. Aside from that I disagree with you about the length of the barrel. I would say that is a 10.5' or a 11.5' barrel. Some suppressors overlap the barrel which makes it look much shorter. What that means is part of the barrel is actually inside the suppressor.

@Calvert1212 They can if they have the proper paperwork but in this case you can chop down a M16 and add some parts one it to look like an M4 but will always be registered as an M16.

@taterwedge55 AR-15's have removeable carry handles. M4's have removeable carry handles. M16's (A3's and newer) have removeable carry handles. You take then off, and you've got a picatinny rail.

That rail looks slightly wider than and M4. I wouldn't rule it out of being an HK416D. If that suppressor does not overlap the barrel this gun has all the requirements of being a mil-spec MK18 Mod 0. But still it will always be registered as an M16 or AR-15.

man there are a lot of ignorant people responding about this video... first off it is an m4 not an m16, 2nd it is not FA due to the fact that it only fires a 3 round burst, and 3rd you can own FA, Burst and machine guns so long as you go throught the hastle of obtaining a Class III Federal Firearms Licence, giving the government full authority to inspect your collection any time they choose

@hoganmeister02 Technically, "M4" is simply an army designation of an AR-15 variant. M4's are AR-15's. If you want to get picky, it's not an M4 unless it's from the army. Also, it is not a burst. She quite distinctly fires three rounds, then two rounds, then three rounds, hence why she's being told to shoot it in "controlled pairs." Finally, no, you do not need a class III license to own any NFA firearms. You DO need to have it registered with the BATFE, though. Dealers need a class III SOT.

@negativespace00 Technically an military grade M4 fires bursts and a M4A1 fires fully-automatic. Most videos you see on Youtube are registered M16's with chopped down parts to make it look like an M4 series rifle. This is a M4A1 on an M16 platform. The bursts are to fire short amount of rounds with out losing control of the rifle also called controlled bursts.

@IMFDB Yeah, you're getting into more variants of the same thing. I was pointing out that this particular weapon, from what I can hear, is FA, not burst. You pretty much echoed what I said, while adding the distinction of the A1. In every case (M16, M4, A1's, A2's, etc), it's still an AR variant. Stoner worked for Armalite, remember? :)

Oh for fucks sake people. I'm pretty sure that by the time the ban came along you couldn't buy an M4 lower. Correct me if I'm wrong jmurez, but it's probably an M16 lower with an M4 upper. Meaning the lower receiver is marked as "M16xx" which means it is an M16. I can't see the barrel contour so I can't be entirely sure on the upper. Just to get it straight it is NOT an AR-15, which is civilian semi-auto version of this rifle, unless it was illegally modified for auto.

@sylentmyst It has to be a registered pre '86 sear, as they treat an auto sear as a firearm, just like suppressors (minus the '86 thing). Or a registered automatic pre '86 lower. Both are very, very costly, but if you want to be legal and have your toys, you have to pay. Personally, I'd never buy a drop in sear, I'd rather pay for the whole gun, but I don't have that type of cash to throw around, so it's a moot point. The only other way to make post '86 NFA weapons is to be a class 2 SOT 02/07.

@DroPShoTShArPShOoTeR Your right 80% of M4's are not real M4 rifles they are M16's that have all the parts to make it look like a M4 but will always be registered as an M16. The M4's you see by military personal are what I call genuine M4's. Aside from that I disagree with you about the length of the barrel. I would say that is a 10.5' or a 11.5' barrel. Some suppressors overlap the barrel which makes it look much shorter. What that means is part of the barrel is actually inside the suppressor.

Wow so many ignorant people are posting on this. It could be an M16, M4, CAR-15, or an AR-15. Adjustable stocks mean nothing. You can put an adjustable stock on pretty much anything, you can also change the upper receiver, etc....
