@Thefavouriter im hoping i get one for xmas everyone i know says its amazing specially with all the new updates and android apps comming to the playbook
Almost EVERY electronic advertisement has this. They have to do this because the cameras they use can cause scan lines on the screen. "None of this stuff is going to look like that when you buy the darn thing." Go play with one at Best Buy. The software in the ad is the same software inside the Playbook. If it weren't, that would be false advertising, which it isn't..
You are stupid. All electronics commercials do this. Stimulated basically means they recorded a video of the screen and are playing it back on the tablet so they can know what to expect. They have to do this so they dont have to show the webpage loading, and other things.
All Cellphone commercials, the iPad, and everything else do this
@justinaadu2 (simulated) fake: not genuine or real; being an imitation of the genuine article; "it isn't fake anything; it's real synthetic fur"; "faux pearls"; "false teeth"; "decorated with imitation palm leaves"; "a purse of simulated alligator hide".
According to Google you are the one that is stupid.
I work on commercials and their must be some kind of loophole, companies can literally do whatever they want to promote a product for sale--after all, claims are posted (simulated images)-- as long as the sheep masses don't say shit and lobby for a change its all going to continue. I mean look at food commercials they are notorious for painting, waxing, Puting pins to hold condiments, fake ice in beer commercial (all the beer you see is warm not one single beer commercial has cold beer, not one
They've been simulating things in commercials for years now. Welcome to the digital age. Things are more digitalized than most even realize, even with really basic stuff. Some commercials even show products not yet finish, e.g., cars. Food commercials are some of the worst, it's practically an art.
You have to simulate the screens on these type of products for commercial use. It would be impractical to do otherwise. If you think it's a scam then buy one and show us the quality difference.
What's your point? In which planet do you live? It would be impractical to make an advertisment just by focusing in a "real" screen. First, the lighting, second they have to show in seconds a full set of thing the device can do, third, all companies do this. ALL. I really feel dumb by explaining you this. I mean what you're trying to prove? Do you think you're smart? Get a life! Wake up!
You. Are. An. Idiot. Apple does the same things. It's on the majority of gadget commercials. You act like you've stumbled upon like.. this huge thing, as if out of the millions of people who have viewed this commercial only you have caught this glaring omission of common sense. What is wrong with you?
Ok, it doesn't necessarily mean the sceen shots aren't from this device, rather the screen is simulated, so it's not full of glare or background lights after all the most important thing in the advert is what's being shown on the device screen. I think you've not quite understood what it actually means.

Yes, it's probably a scam. In fact, I doubt whether this "Playbook" even exists. And this "Blackberry" company. Has anyone ever really SEEN one of their products? I don't think so. It's all a big conspiracy.
A lot of ads have this at the bottom... Like... a LOT. I can't think of one at the moment, but I remember thinking this several times before about various things. RIM just seems to have bigger disclaimer text.
ignorant dorkball, 95% of electronic device advertizments have either a similated screen image or the entire commercial is CG.
This includes those iPhone commercials that you see every time you blink, although their CG looks real because there is a hand holding it, and needs no "simulated screen" disclamer because the whole thing is simulated. (as opposed to the phone floating around and rotating and such)
the way that most cameras capture screens can often cause distortion in the image. The interface and power should be the same. What they did most likely was have someone use the tablet like how it was shown in the ad, but have it record the screen, and then overlay the recording in editing. That's how most ads like this are done. If you got it, it would work as show.
What a ridiculous uploader... Everyone simulates images. EVERY company does this. This is the same uploader who put up another video saying he got the free PlayBook from RIM and had nothing but complaints about it. The uploader is a complete failure!
Jackass, The only reason they say "Screen image simulated" is because it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to sync up the camera and the playbook's screen output. Just like your video, you may notice a lil "flicker" or a dark area floating on your screen, that is the video and camera being out of sync. Something which may never happen with you, Farting while on your first date with a hot girl, Unless she's into that, you are not going to impress her
Have you noticed the Apple commercials say the same thing? "Screen simulated" or "sequence shortened." Did you know that they use glue instead of milk when photographing a bowl of cereal for the picture on the box? I mean, c'mon! It's bad enough when people nitpick on the power button or lack of native email/calendar, but this one takes the cake. You have to take every commercial with a grain of salt. That's why you test-drive a vehicle before you buy it. Same thing goes for this. Peace!
I think you are an uneducated. Open you mind and do some research next time.
