I was with him until he said "a lot less regulations." People need to realize that lax regulations led us into the housing crisis and that the recession in the first place. Some regulations can be a burden on growth but the vast majority of regulations protect consumers and keep the marketplace fair for honest businesses. All of that actually strengthens consumer and investment confidence and helps the economy grow. The ideology that ALL regulation is bad is a misguided oversimplification.

It's governmental interference with the free market that causes these bubbles, and they continue to feed money into the efforts of propping up their mistakes.

Without them banks would never create these mortgages because they were too risky. This is another lesson that we should let free market work its ways

@jdrury That is simply incorrect. Some states do balance their budgets and leave surpluses. It is certainly not improbable for this to happen on a federal level as well. Just look at the stats of former New Mexico governor, Gary Johnson's two terms. He ran the government like a business, never raising taxes once and downsizing the government way more than any other governor, and his state saw nothing but benefits from it.

I was with him until he said "a lot less regulations." People need to realize that lax regulations led us into the housing crisis and that the recession in the first place. Some regulations can be a burden on growth but the vast majority of regulations protect consumers and keep the marketplace fair for honest businesses. All of that actually strengthens consumer and investment confidence and helps the economy grow. The ideology that ALL regulation is bad is a misguided oversimplification.

It's governmental interference with the free market that causes these bubbles, and they continue to feed money into the efforts of propping up their mistakes.

@ctchampagne You got it all wrong. The reason why banks created all those bad mortgages is because Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, which are de facto governmental entities, were buying them. Without them banks would never create these mortgages because they were too risky. This is another lesson that we should let free market work its ways

@jdrury That is simply incorrect. Some states do balance their budgets and leave surpluses. It is certainly not improbable for this to happen on a federal level as well. Just look at the stats of former New Mexico governor, Gary Johnson's two terms. He ran the government like a business, never raising taxes once and downsizing the government way more than any other governor, and his state saw nothing but benefits from it.

It is hard to find a politician who will do what is best for this nation anymore. with exception of Paul , rest politicians seek their own interest or their party's interest. untrustworthy. Paul is the last honest politician.
