I actually enjoyed the movie. But then when I tried to read the first book of the series, I didn't like it at all. I think its not that the movie is bad, but it may not appeal to the same people as the books. I found the books to be typical "Fantasy Genre" at its most predictable. Also, the movie was a bit more adult. The books are best for teens.

I never read the books, but I kinda like the movie for what it is--a watered down LOTR/Star Wars film. From what I hear the fans say about the book, I hope someone reboots this movie. Robert Carlyle's the greatest though!!

very shameful movie, the urgals were beastly creatures that were not human looking in any sense, the movie screwed that up big time. Durza looks like a douche, galbatorix looks like a douche and acted horribly. And yes they screwed up Brom's death and ruined the hopes for a sequel by killing the razak

@shadedude123 Those are all good reasons why the movie sucked, but since I saw it before reading the books I enjoyed it, and here are some reasons why.

The actors cast for Brom, Murtagh and Durza were great, the movie had an amazing soundtrack and wicked awsome props (especialy Zar'roc) and I for one perfered he final battle between Durza and Eragon at the end. It was much better than the boring sword fight.

Has eneyone seen that when durza Casts some spellas Like Böeyng Illistari (In Start) he uses right hand to cast it and when he moves Arya when this is on the ground. But when he is using spear and creates a fire sword and even strikes with it or casts fireballs in the end he uses Left Hand and Thats just getting me confused. xD
