  • FABULOUS !!!! It's so great... and i'm not scottish, i'm german, but i love it!!!

  • Yeah, it's really good. Even though I am not scottish I'm sure about that you don't have to excuse for not being scottish to listen to this. Get away with the nationalism-bullshido, this is music! =) Very good music!

  • in the background whats that red thing moving is that a giant or something or a vid screen of some1 up close

  • Its one of the bass drummers.

  • that is their bass drum i suppose...

  • love them

    *-*

    they are just -awesome-

    *cheers*

  • livingston

  • You see that a lot during concerts, guys going around tuning, even if they're not recording. Pipes get sharper as you keep playing them, but the drones don't always sharpen with the chanter. And no, those lads aren't Scottish. They're Canadian, from Toronto. But they recruit players from all over the world. And for the pipers out there, that first tune is a hornpipe called (I think) "Jacobite Charge."

  • no, they're not scottish, they were the first non-scottish band to win the world championship of pipe bands

    ;)

  • hardly the first, surely you've heard of SFUPB or Simon Fraser University Pipe Band..from Port Moody, BC 4 time world grade 1 champions

  • alybagpipe, you have no idea what your talking about. Although SFU has won more than the Frasers, the Frasers did win it before SFU ever did. I should know, my dad played in the pipe core. Look it up

  • okay i concede, you're right...any idea where i might find the jacobite charge or how about piper alfa, fmm has it on one of thier cds?

    cheers bud

  • He would have continually tuned up during the concert to ensure the best sound. Mybe it was being recorded.

  • the bagpipes are originally dutch but they are assosiated with scotland and scotland only, our national instrument it is and it always will be.

  • Not quite with your first affirmation. In the old testament, it is mentioned some kind of bagpipes. And by the way the asturian and galician bagpipes are older than scottish ones, but are smaller and don't have the same good "tune" if you know what I mean.

  • that first tune is sick!!!!!

  • glorious!

  • THEY RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • well, if it's not Scottish it's crap! SCOTTS RULE!

  • this is ok but i am not big into the whole irish stuff GERMANS RULE

  • dont ever say it's irish, its scottish.

The scottish uprise is coming !!!!!!!!!!

    lol

  • The pipes were played all over Europe and other parts of the World, including Austria. You are correct these are Scottish Great Highland Bagpipes playing mostly Scottish tunes. The Irish have played the GHBS for many a century, some pipes in Ireland were two drones like the old Scots bagpipe sometimes refered to as "war pipes" and of course the Irish Uillean pipes.

  • they're Scottish

  • holy crap. these guys are my favorite pipe band.

  • I love this band... and their medley!!!

  • Am I imagining things or did someone tune all of them DURING the show? LOL too funny! Sweet!

  • Do you know where i could get the music for the opening tune ?

  • excellent oppener and very enthusiastic....what is the name of the first hornpipe?

  • The name of the opening tune is the Jacobite Charge

  • trully, amazings, this pipe band its the best i ever saw, amazing how they all work together,

a example to every begging pipe band

    cheers

    :)

  • Absolutely brilliant

    Greetings from Scotland.

  • Time for another worlds title

  • This is one of the grade 1 bands, right, like STFU Pipe Band? Cheers

  • Lol STFU pipe band... SFU pipe band? Yes it is a grade 1 or 2 depending on where it comes from...

  • lol theres a lefty piper in there lol

  • That silly one would be John Cairns... double gold, baby.

  • i know john cairens but the one in the midle is the silly one lol

  • Bill Livingston is still the P/M. That's him out front.

  • the pipe major was the great bill livingstone as i rememeber. so who's that silly one
