  • Great video Roger! Looks really fun!

  • Thanks Jesse and Mike! I still have a little bit of guilt for being able to enjoy it because Hurricane Katrina ended up making it so cheap... but a great way to travel is to take advantage of problems that greatly reduce the costs or going in the off season when the weather might not be great but you can still enjoy so many things.

  • Thanks Eddie!!!!

    : )

  • wow Roger , love the song and pictures , problem is if I been to some of the places you have been to , I don't know if I ever go back home

Also you were awful close to the edge on the video , if you go overboard , will they come back and pick you up? lol

  • LOL! Thanks David!!! Yeah, fortunately, not being a warm weather person, though they were great to visit, their siren call didn't have much effect on me!

    :P

LOL! Since I can't swim, I'm sure if I fell over, I'd have sunk to the bottom of the Gulf!!! I was very careful to brace my feet as it was scary for me to lean over like that!

    :P

  • Yeah if I go up like escelators and such look over , I imagine myself jumping , gives me that eerie dizzy feeling

Same here , I about drowned when I was younger which led me to stay clear of water that was deeper than my height

If I was there on the edge , I would definitely had a life jacket on

  • LOL! I feel the same way when I'm looking over the edge of something like the Space Needle in Seattle or over the edge of the Grand Canyon- in a fraction of a second ideas of what if I slipped? what if someone pushed me? what if I jumped?

    :P

I'm terrified of deep water- which is why I've never learned to swim- but for some odd reason I love being on boats- big ships to white water rafting is fine, as long as I'm not in the water itself!!

  • my sister skydived today for her birthday and she said it was great , she has more guts than me , if I did it I know I better not eat beforehand lol

As the saying goes , if God wanted me under water he would gave me gills , if he wanted me 2-3 miles above the ground , he would gave me wings , but if I ever want to get to Hawaii I will have to fly though lol

  • LOL! Nice! There have been times when my brother or a friend have talked about getting me to skydive with them that I've considered it! I really think it would be easier jumping out of a plane at high altitude, with a parachute than looking over the edge of a high building with nothing! Sort of like you were talking about looking over the side of the ship with a life jacket on!

Hey! It's a little nerve racking the first time you fly but after that it's great! Hope you go to Hawaii!

  • yeah the worst ever is the video of the people jumping from the World Trade Center , just couldn't imagine having to make that choice so any time I go up buildings also and look down , just an eerie feeling

Well if you ever do skydive , have to get it on video , soon as I have my retirememnt plan , "the lottery" , Hawaii bound I am , well first a stop in Vegas then Hawaii

  • Exactly! That's the image from 9-11 that most brings home the terror for the people there!

LOL! If you won the lottery, you might as well travel around the world!

    :P

  • yeah Vegas and Hawaii would be first on the list though but Egypt(The Pyramids) and Rome are also there and go on a lot of cruises but staying away from the edge lol

As a sports fan I would love to attend games of all sports in all stadiums and arenas and also all the landmarks like the Statue of Liberty , Grand Canyon , Mount Rushmore , and so on

  • LOL! It was kind of scary when we were in slightly rough seas one night, when I looked over the edge as the ship was rolling a bit!

    :P

LOL! Shane is a life long Cowboys fanatic & Steven follows in his footsteps & they really want to go when the new stadium opens!

One neat thing is freighters that have some of the officers quarters free for passengers- they go to unusual ports & though it's not fancy there's good food, lots of time to just relax! I've thought that'd be fun!

  • wow Cowboy fans in Oregon , how did that happen lol

like you said too about the food , I would love to go to Italy as I love Italian food , imagine they have some great restaurants and just experience the different cultures of the world too as I see some on TV especially with that bizzare foods guy but some stuff he eats I will not eat

but it is cool how cultures and different areas of the world are so different and he gets paid to go experience it

  • LOL! I'm not sure! It probably helps that the only professional sports team in Oregon is basketball, so picking a football team means turning to the Seattle Seahawks, or some other...

    :P

Yes! When that guy hates something he eats- when he'll be fine with some really horrid stuff- you know it's got to be bad!

    :P

Yeah! I think a job that takes you all around the world would be neat!

  • worst thing I ever smelled was a Durian which I think it is called , someone brought it to class one time , think it is classified as a fruit , never tasted it but man it was horrid

and below views on the video here says I can watch in high or low quality , why even give a choice and why would you choose low quality?

  • LOL!

I wonder about people who like things like Limburger cheese! I figure even if it tastes great there's no way I'm getting past the smell!

What about those Chinese duck eggs that are allowed to rot in the ground for months before eating?

    :O

LOL! I was wondering that too, but maybe it's because with something like dial-up high quality would take 4 times longer to load?

  • lol don't know about the duck eggs but why would they do that?

ah the loading time , that makes sense , see you up to #42 for the week for most discussed , hopefully all comments today will move you up

  • I'm sure, like a lot of "delicacies" the rotten duck eggs (did I mention they are to the point of having a little chick inside- beak, etc.) it's probably a matter of historic use to foods, like how all those French sauces were made to cover the non-refrigerated rotten meats they had. Then there was the bizarre food guy eating the Iceland shark meat that is hung in a shed for months to "rot" then eaten raw!

    :o

  • And thanks to you and WoosterFanGirl for all the comments!

    :P

  • mmmmm non-refrigerated rotten meats lol , I always wonder about that if he ever gets sick or maybe they have a doctor following him around , with the raw stuff especially if it has been hanging around for months and then getting tapewords or god know what else eating some of that stuff

yeah I am the commenting machine , actually till now I forgot I still had the commenting machine name

  • LOL! I imagine people had a greater tolerance for rotten food- both in health as well as taste! I bet most of us would die if we went back in time and had to live like people used to!

LOL! You are indeed a commenting machine!

    :P

  • here you go , took me a while to remember the password , that is such a great song , want to say I heard it before your video but each time I listen , up to #33 , woohoo

yeah thats why we live a lot longer now days along with medication , saw a stat I think I may have told you is the average life expectancy in Mozambique in southeast Africa is 34 years of age , so lucky to be born into this time and place on this planet to have wonderful choices and I can sit here and type comments forever

  • LOL! Yeah, I'm always afraid of forgetting my passwords like I forgot my locker combination in junior high!

    :P

Yeah, some parts of the world, especially around Africa, are still at the life expectancy of most of history! I'd be dead by now if I lived there!

  • ^_^ Hi Roger. How is your Monday night?

  • Tired! Steven's Battle of the Books was in Salem on Saturday. Shane & Missey ended up having a wine tour thing & spended the night at a hotel & the rest of the kids stayed with their grandparents, so I kept Steven overnight & we ended up watching all 10 "Band of Brothers" episodes. Then, after taking him home yesterday I went & spent most of the day at my sister's for Jessica's birthday. To much people time! I'm still exhausted!!!

  • Wine tour?? Oh, that's right. i forgot your family is half drunks.

:-( Poor Roger! i would give you an e-hug, but you said you're tired of people. haha

  • LOL! Thanks!

    :P

I'm not related to Shane, though I do consider him more of a brother than friend. In fact, a few years ago, when Steven was about 10 years old, he was still assuming I had the same last name and that Shane and I really were brothers!

    :D

  • lolol

  • Great music! The beach boys did that song i think? I have always wanted to go to mexico! I think there was a conflict in Belize and the SAS went there to fight someone!

  • Thanks Paul! Yeah, this was another from the Country music singers who did a tribute to the Beach Boys. This one is Collin Raye and like the others the Beach Boys did the backup, so it still has a lot of their sound to it. I really love this one- probably my favorite of theirs!

Yeah, Belize was cononized by British pirates! Now it's 1/4 native, 1/4 former black slaves, 1/4 Brit and 1/4 Asian!!!

    :P

  • Zomg, that's awesome! =0 =D

Gee, Roger oughta do into the towel animal business! (If there... was such a business. Hey Rog! Invent that business! haha)

  • LOL! I suck at oragami, so I don't think that would be the business for me!!!

    :D

  • Mmhmm ^_^ L says so.

  • LOL!

  • Roger! It's 11:33pm! =0

  • LOL! Yep! I've got to be up early too, so I'd better be getting ready for bed!!!

  • Brush your teeth!

  • I'm too lazy, I'll just have Liquorice lick them clean...

    :o

    LOL!!!

  • =0 Eeeeeew! Gee thanks for THAT image, Rog. i really needed to know that right before going to BED.

lol, j/k :P [hugz] Sleep tight!

  • its only 11:30 for you guys?!, jeez, its 2am here, i think i also should get some sleep

  • Hehe, i'm 2 hours ahead of Roger. i was calculating it in Groundrog time.

    :P

  • LOL!

    :D

  • LOL!!! Yeah, you and L are ahead of me by a couple hours and yet I'm always off to bed before you guys!!!

  • Good sleeping habits are probably the reason you're less cranky than i am, Roger.

    ^_^

  • LOL!!!

  • I sometimes think about the people who "kiss" their dogs or let them lick them in the face, when dogs tend to engage in things like drinking out of the toilet, licking themselves and sometimes eating the feces of other animals...

I don't even like having my nieces or nephews kiss me- little germ factories! I sure don't want a dog doing it!!!

    :P

  • lol! xD Kids are "germ factories". i love that description.

  • Especially because it's soooo true!!!

    :P

  • i was ill more often when i babysat all my brothers' kids (yes, that's 'brothers', plural) than while i was attending high school. So, i know what you mean.

    ^_^

  • LOL! Yeah! I'd throw myself in front of a train if I'd been expected to watch my brother and my sister's kids at the same time when they were younger!!!

    :P

My sister's daughter turned 13 yesterday- it's Hitler's birthday too, which she just found out last month and wasn't too happy about it!!!

    :D

Anyway, as they approach their teens they get better in many ways- though new problems pop up!

    : )

  • As children grow up, as a parent, you'd trade in old problems for new ones. "Yay"...

  • Yep! After the teen years of juvenile delinquency, and bankrupting yourself to send them to college, then one day they poison you to get their inheritance early!!!

    :o

  • Zomg!! =0 Those little BA- Umm, bad... kids.

  • LOL!!!

    :P

  • Hehe

    0:-)

  • =0 i love giraffes! =D

  • looks like it was a lot of fun! i dont think i could stand going on a cruise though, being on a boat that big for that long on the water, i would be terrified. not to say that i dont like the water though, i do enjoy sailing during the summer and stuff, but i dunno just being on a boat that big on the ocean really freaks me out, maybe someday il get the courage to go though!

  • LOL! I'm terrified of the water and can't swim, but I love boats, of all sizes!

There was one night with pretty good sized waves so that the curtain between my bed and the sitting area was swaying a foot or more and I could see water in a glass sloshing back and forth! That was an odd feeling to be going to bed and feeling the rolling motion! But most of the time you could barely tell you were on the water!

If you ever get the chance take it!!! I'm sure you'd enjoy it!!!

  • Middle Earth! =D Hobbits rawk.

  • Ah, yes. That wonderful age of hobbits. They really made some excellent jewelry from 1409 - 1558. I have a ring from around 1444. It's...(wait for it)....precious.

    :)

  • lol! xD

A wee Gollum moment, eh? ;)

  • hobbits do rock, but im not a fan of the talking tree people guys, they scare me

  • B-but, ibnh, the Ents are kewl! They carry you around for free!

  • true, and i guess with a name like Treebeard you cant go wrong. plus i think theyd be like the ultimate environmental activists.

  • LOL! Visiting Middle Earth would be cool!!! Since I was a kid I've read the books a number of times and loved the movies too!

As for real history, people & places were very smelly as bathing was considered unnecessary & cities had open sewers or just tossed their chamber pots out the window, with barely a warning to those walking below!

So, it might be anti-climactic to go back in time!!!

    :P

  • So much for my Summer vacation then! i was going to visit the past to see France in the 1200's.

    :-(

  • LOL! Oh! The French cuisine came up with all those fancy sauces as a way of covering up the taste of the rotten meat they had to use since they didn't have refrigeration!!!

    :P

And the rich would have a little perforated ball filled with perfume to hang around their necks, to sniff to cover up some of the stench!

    :P

  • Which is exactly why i'm changing my plans.

i'm coming to Oregon, and bringing my Hedgerob along. Savvy?

  • Wise choice, Oregon truly is the closest you can get to Heaven on Earth!

    :P

  • lmao you lucky guy! haha, that looked so kewl :D id have left them a note to stop screwing with my towels every day though! lol

that hat...nice haha, those pyramids are alot like the ones in peru, there are many and all oddly unrelated, but surely they must e=be,if they look alike haha :D

  • Ice cream Rob? ;) x

  • LOL! Rob!!! Yeah, I didn't know about what they did with the towels so the first evening was a wonderful surprise and I really looked forward to what they'd do next!

    : )

Yeah, I was glad I went out to see so many things! Being kissed by a dolphin was the best thing though!

  • Don't lie, Roger. i know you made those little towel animals yourself.

    ^_^ lol :P j/k

  • Bah...

yet another video by RogCBrand without RogCBrand in it. Grrrrrrrr

    <_<

    ~L~

  • I beg to differ my lady! There was one picture of the bathroom where it showed me in the mirror, so there!

    :P

  • :'( But that's... that doesn't count!

  • LOL!!!!

  • roger you realize that in most of your videos, your either only in it for 15 seconds, or its from 1989

  • LOL!!! I didn't really think about that but you're right! Doing vids with me in them is usually like pulling teeth!!! Most days I hate seeing myself in the mirror, much less capturing my image and voice and sharing them with people!!!

    :P

  • lol, excellent point, ibnh! xD

  • Now don't you start in L!!!

  • Meee? Neverrrr. 0:-) See my halo?

    ^_^

  • LOL!!! I KNOW YOU!!!

  • Good! Then you know what a little angel i am!

    =D

  • LOL!!!

  • lol u mean peter

  • Doh!!! Thanks! I'm still not used to Peter's new name, but I'm still not sure why I got so mixed up!!!

    :P

    Thanks Peter!!!! And sorry!

    : )

  • np, it's alright.

  • Thanks Peter!!!!

    : )

  • Peter Pan?? =0

  • LOL!!! Nah, Peter is cool, while Peter Pan is not!!!

    : )

  • Oh-hoho, i beg to differ. ^_^ Peter Pan rawks.

  • LOL!!!

  • thats really cool.

  • LOL! Thanks Curtis!

    :P

  • hey, cool pictures! i've never been on a cruise before. they look really cool. especially in those commercials where they are surfing on-board and sun-tanning and stuff. lol =) i want to travel the world when i grow up. especially austrailia and europe.

  • Thanks! Yeah! I wish I had done more traveling earlier and hope I can do more in the future! Even if you spend your life traveling often you'll never run out of things to see!!!

Hope you get the chance to travel a lot!!!

  • woah, i went to puerto rico over the summer and it was completely beautiful. i cant wait until i go to mexico!

  • That's neat Nick!!! Puerto Rico would be a great place to visit!!!

It was great going from cold, wet, dark Oregon in December and arriving in tropical paradises!

    :P

When do you go to Mexico?

  • its going to be my job. i have to take like 4-6 years of spanish but i will go to spain, mexico and all over

  • Ah! That'll be wonderful!!! I've always thought having a job where you got to travel would be fun!!!

  • COOL!!!
