yeah, we can laugh about our past. Still, what happened isn´t funny. I´m young and I grew up laughing about those jokes but still I know about all the horrible things that happened during WW2 and that definitely isn´t funny.

That´s probably why it took us so long to laugh about such jokes, because we were afraid of what foreigners would think about us. they might misunderstand us and think that we don´t regret what happened. Then we would be Nazis for everyone- once again.
