@VibrGames She didn't "skip" 6 weeks and why do people judge her for that, they offered she took!! It was dumb-ass kelly's fault! I liked sophie but it was obvious that no-one was really gonna vote for her! Some people didn't deserve to be there and to practically kick off a contestant like Amelia is just absolute ridiculous! She was robbed of her place in week1 of the comp and i hope she just continues with her music and shows kelly and everyone else that doubted her how successful she can be!

Tulisa makes the best observation that Amelia is so great because she gets lost in the music, you can see Amelia wants to entertain aswell as sing the song, she has a confidence on the stage that is seductive.

Watching this a second time and it's so much better than I thought. I love this girl, I'd buy her album, I think she's too talented for this competition though..
Gotta say - that was one hellava knockout winning performance and has changed my mind completely about Amelia. I'm sorry Janet didn't make it through but she doesn't need X Factor, she'll be massive anyway. I think Amelia can win this now.
amelia doesn't deserve to win or even be in this competition. Even though she does have a great voice and can sing, she just has got a short route and hasn't even performed half of the liveshows. It's just not fair to all the other contestants who have werked every single week very hard en some of than had to leave and here amelia is, just flying through the liveshows to the semi-finals, thanks to frankie cocozza and the producers.

@cocowrap The truth is, people don't need to go on talent shows to get noticed. You have artists in the charts who can't keep a note and then you have people like Amelia etc. who would fight to get a record contract, but sadly they can't. Hopefully she does get something with or without the X Factor because it would be a waste of great talent :/

She did this gig just before she was voted back in, and this is why I believe in her. She sounded as good as Lady Gaga singing it, and she has confidence and stage presence, without coming across as arrogant. I don't think X Factor has brought out the best in her yet. She needs the right song on Saturday to shine, but I have a feeling she is next to be thrown under the bus with shit songs to avoid the controversy of an eliminated act winning.

Amelia sings beautifully in the mid to the slightly higher range. However I always think she struggles with the highest notes and sound a bit shouty. She should try and use falsetto style singing for these high notes to avoid the shouty sound. If she can do that...a deserved winner.

@marmeduke007 I would agree with you if we were talking about one of her other performances, but I thought her high notes in this song sounded natural, clear and effortless. Ever since Gary said she 'shouted her way through that performance' the previous week, everyone seems to be jumping on that bandwagon and criticising her every time she hits a big note, which is unfair, cos it sounds good and unforced as long as it isn't too high.

@nikkymonoxide i think christina is just a little too obvious for amelia. there are a few too many comparisons as it is...but if she does sing a christina song then i'd prefer something a little less blatant than "hurt", something like "i turn to you" or something a little less well known, like "you lost me".
It just makes me wonder why no contestant had ever thought to do a T'Pau song previously on one of these shows. Their songs were always multi-layered, complex lyrics & melodies with long high notes to show off a singer's range. If you are new to T'Pau & like this song: listen to their 1991 single "Whenever You Need Me"- also found here on Youtube.

When she started off, I thought she was really good, but then whenever she reaches the chorus she shouts it too much. I always get a headache whenever she sings a chorus, she would be so much better if she didn't shout so much :L
@MusicLOve995 some songs need a stamp of authority! T pau sung the original with strength, but not with a good voice, Amelia has nailed the same powerful passionate tone but with an amazing vocal!! This song was not made to be quiet. You have to be an empty soul to think it would sound good that way.
The strength in her voice is tone perfect and ecstasy fuelled, Not just shouting. people need to recognize raw talent.
Janet Devlin is unique, but only one dimension to her vocal. just not diggin.
Also worth mentioning, she tends to have bad micoprohone technique (She admited it on xtra factor) the mics to close to her mouth when she belts loud powerful parts out (sometimes) it's ok as you said for songs like kelly clarkson that are menat to be that way for the emotions, and i tend to agree it was right for this song, but think for example (& others) it was bad technique... Something i am sure we will see her improve on (if future songs ever calls for it)

Gary Barlow was out of order with his comments about Carol Decker voice. T'Pau were are amazing band. Apparently Carol Decker wanted to speak to Gary Barlow on the Xtra Factor but he bottled it. Very disappointed with Gary Barlow.
No one will ever outdo Carol Decker's version. EVER. But happy Amelia has brought this song new found attention, it's one of my all time favourites. And Gary, your comment about the original was rubbish and uncalled for. Carol for the win!

amelia doesn't deserve to win or even be in this competition. Even though she does have a great voice and can sing, she just has got a short route and hasn't even performed half of the liveshows. It's just not fair to all the other contestants who have werked every single week very hard en some of than had to leave and here amelia is, just flying through the liveshows to the semi-finals, thanks to frankie cocozza and the producers.

@cocowrap The truth is, people don't need to go on talent shows to get noticed. You have artists in the charts who can't keep a note and then you have people like Amelia etc. who would fight to get a record contract, but sadly they can't. Hopefully she does get something with or without the X Factor because it would be a waste of great talent :/

She did this gig just before she was voted back in, and this is why I believe in her. She sounded as good as Lady Gaga singing it, and she has confidence and stage presence, without coming across as arrogant. I don't think X Factor has brought out the best in her yet. She needs the right song on Saturday to shine, but I have a feeling she is next to be thrown under the bus with shit songs to avoid the controversy of an eliminated act winning.

Amelia sings beautifully in the mid to the slightly higher range. However I always think she struggles with the highest notes and sound a bit shouty. She should try and use falsetto style singing for these high notes to avoid the shouty sound. If she can do that...a deserved winner.

@marmeduke007 I would agree with you if we were talking about one of her other performances, but I thought her high notes in this song sounded natural, clear and effortless. Ever since Gary said she 'shouted her way through that performance' the previous week, everyone seems to be jumping on that bandwagon and criticising her every time she hits a big note, which is unfair, cos it sounds good and unforced as long as it isn't too high.

@nikkymonoxide i think christina is just a little too obvious for amelia. there are a few too many comparisons as it is...but if she does sing a christina song then i'd prefer something a little less blatant than "hurt", something like "i turn to you" or something a little less well known, like "you lost me".

It just makes me wonder why no contestant had ever thought to do a T'Pau song previously on one of these shows. Their songs were always multi-layered, complex lyrics & melodies with long high notes to show off a singer's range. If you are new to T'Pau & like this song: listen to their 1991 single "Whenever You Need Me"- also found here on Youtube.

Does anyone think Amelia has any idea that this song was based on Frankenstein? Even though i am sure we all relate it to wanting something to much and becomming obsessed to the extreme (since that's the underlying theme of the story) I doubt she does (guilty pleasure hey lol)!!!

When she started off, I thought she was really good, but then whenever she reaches the chorus she shouts it too much. I always get a headache whenever she sings a chorus, she would be so much better if she didn't shout so much :L

@MusicLOve995 some songs need a stamp of authority! T pau sung the original with strength, but not with a good voice, Amelia has nailed the same powerful passionate tone but with an amazing vocal!! This song was not made to be quiet. You have to be an empty soul to think it would sound good that way.
The strength in her voice is tone perfect and ecstasy fuelled, Not just shouting. people need to recognize raw talent.
Janet Devlin is unique, but only one dimension to her vocal. just not diggin.

Also worth mentioning, she tends to have bad micoprohone technique (She admited it on xtra factor) the mics to close to her mouth when she belts loud powerful parts out (sometimes) it's ok as you said for songs like kelly clarkson that are menat to be that way for the emotions, and i tend to agree it was right for this song, but think for example (& others) it was bad technique... Something i am sure we will see her improve on (if future songs ever calls for it)

Gary Barlow was out of order with his comments about Carol Decker voice. T'Pau were are amazing band. Apparently Carol Decker wanted to speak to Gary Barlow on the Xtra Factor but he bottled it. Very disappointed with Gary Barlow.
