  • 7:24 Hopkins: I carried the orders.

Chief: I call you Far Rider, not because of your great races and your fine pony, but because you are one who rides far from himself, and wishes not to look home.

Until you do, you are neither white man nor Indian. You are lost.

  • crap no translate

  • awwww Hidalgo is adorable

  • R.I.P. Red Crow.

  • Horse like *Hidalgo*

  • conversation continued....

FRANK: I saw what happened at Wounded Knee Creek. I carried the orders.

EAGLE HORN: I call you Far Rider, not because of your great races and your fine pony, but because you are one who rides far from himself, and wishes not to look home. Until you do, you are neither white man nor Indian. You are lost.

  • Beginning at 6:10 in this part, Chief Eagle Horn says, "Long Hair has promised me rock candy in Pittsburgh.

Then the conversation goes as follows:

EAGLE HORN: Our good red and blue days are over. Perhaps all of us will die in this show of the great Cody. You have a chance to go save yourself, Far Rider.

FRANK: Hidalgo is not the horse he used to be, Chief.

EAGLE HORN: There is nothing wrong with that horse. Is it better to perish here in the Wild West, as Cody tells it?

  • At 1:10 in this part, Frank says, "Yes. He'll do whatever he can."

  • Is there a copy of this somewhere that has subtitles for when the character's aren't speaking english?

  • That horse is so beautiful, it looks like it would'nt be real!

  • Id like to have a horse like Hidalgo

  • @nickierainbow LOL aslong as it aint dragging me along by its mouth xD

  • you upload my fav horse movies your awesome!

    you ulpoaded ruffian aswell!

i love you! (not really but anyway) lol

  • Indian: I call you far rider, not because the great races and your fine pony but because you are one who rides far

from himself, and wishes not to look home. Until you do you are neither white man nor Indian.

    You are lost.

  • Indian goes into Franks tent: Long Hair has promised me rock candy in Pittsburgh. Our good red and blue days are over. Perhaps all of us will die in this show of the great Cody. You have a chance to go save yourself, Far Rider.

Frank: Hildago's not the horse he used to be, Chief.

Chief: there's nothing wrong with the horse. Is it better to perish here in the wild west like Cody tells it?

Frank: I saw what happened at wounded knee, I carried the orders.

  • Frank says to the Indian: Yes. He'll do whatever he can.

  • I really wish the native american's got subtitles when they spoke. I'm a bit confused now

  • viggo come from denmark. :)

  • I've watched this movie so many times I don't need the Native American subtitles. X3

  • @Helldog4890 hahaha ditto or the arabic

  • is that floyd red crow westerman? and the language is lakota (sioux) some exampels lakota oyate- lakota people skan-sky maka-earth waste-good lila waste - very good wakan tanka - great spirit lakota is not only words lakota is a language of silence too
  • is that floyd red crow westerman?

    and the language ist lakota

  • Genuine question to which I'd like to know the answer- is the language the chief speaks still spoken today? Or has it died out? Is it taught, encouraged, used at all? Please fill me in, my american friends!

  • Needs subtitles...

  • Hey, didn't that indian at 7:20 play the sioux chief in the movie dances with wolves.

  • @john00981 Classic film, easily one of KevinCosner's best

  • i dont know what the native american translation is but i love the way it sounds, it is so incredible

  • okay so the native american isnt translated good thing ive seen this before

  • Hahah! ''Jackass!!'' XD

  • this film makes me cry evvvvery single time!!!

  • At the end when Buffalo Bill promises the chief a horse, Frank lies and says

    "He'll do what he can..."

Instead of "He'll give you a horse."

  • Also at the end when Frank is talking to the chief:

Chief: Bill told me about the race. You should enter the painted stallion. You are a child of the horse people. You and him can do it.

Frank: He wouldn't survive that. I don't want to see him die.

Chief: I have faith in the painted stallion. It's not about age, its about spirit. What if he wants to prove to the world he's as good as any other horse?

My translations are not exact! Just enough to tell you whats happening.

  • Weren't there subtitles for when they spoke Native American?

  • Strange, why isn`t the native american language translated? Anyway thanks for the upload, it`s a great film!

  • @2288Elisa Because the whiteman is stupid. But, there are some books out there that do have some translations, you should read Wounded Knee if your interested in the Native American culture :)

  • @2288Elisa because some are unwritten, so how can you sub a unwritten language-theory

  • @2288Elisa it is in anoother version ive seen, but not in this for some reason

  • @2288Elisa there are more, than 1 of them. As it turns out, they are virtually identical to Irish Gaelic, which is virtually identical to Hebrew.

  • @2288Elisa They do in the actual movie this one is cut short not the whole screen is posted on part of the screen but if u watch it ON DVD it is translated

  • I've now heard Viggo speak English, Native American, and Elvish

  • He's also spoken Spanish in Alatriste! It's great

  • @loverofhighlanders20 His dad is Spanish and his mum Danish, and he was brought up in Argentina. I have seen Alatriste twice in Spanish (I don't think there is a version dubbed into English though I have seen some clips with English subtitles). There is nothing at all wrong with his Spanish. Btw, hidalgo is Spanish for nobleman..

  • @melikabangbang don't forget the danish :P.

  • @melikabangbang Speaks Spanish in Alatriste too =], he's real good with languages.

  • @melikabangbang And if you watch the spanish dubbing you'll hear him speak spanish too. :)

  • @melikabangbang Not to mention Spanish French and Dutch in a Spanish movie he was in.

  • @melikabangbang ... yes, the language he is speaking is called "Native American". Excellent work, melikabangbang.

  • @melikabangbang You can probably find him speak danish somewhere too, since he's from Denmark xD

  • @melikabangbang And he can probably speak a few more languages than that.

  • @martythetickler ..like spanish, which he speaks fluently with and argentinian accent like you can´t believe.

  • why wasnt hidlago letting him get on.??

  • at the beginning the indian cheif said tatonka, and i'm like, buffelo! (i know from 'dances with wolves' :P)

  • @michaelaaa7

    Lol same here!

  • I like the part where the horse comes running out and Frank was like ASSHOLE.!

    lmao. :)

  • same!!

  • lol yea i know, that horse has such an awesome personality i love it
