In Texas I did not see Chuck Baldwin's name on the ballot, so I just wrote in Ron Paul.
Someone posted a picture of the California ballot and he wasn't on it either. I wonder which states the Constitution party does make in onto? Besides South Carolina, I suppose.
What is anti-semetic? Why not just say, "ANti-Jewish?" The semetic comment doesn't even mention those other semites, the Arabs. I wonder why semite was chosen? Perhaps it's more exotoc, or intellectual sounding than anti-Jew?
I have never heard him utter anything "anti-semetic." Did you ever actually hear him say anything or just associate him with a few wacky supporters? I am not asking in a confrontational way, I am just curious. Especially since he is a minister.
It's similar to how some people thought Ron Paul was a racist because there were some white supremacists that donated to him (because he was very pro-free speech).
I have two close frineds who were card carriers of the Constitutional Party and left it because it was being hijacked by skin heads and KKK.
I may have been a little harsh with my statement about Baldwin. But his does believe in throwing the nation of Israel to the dogs. I cannot support this view no matter how unsavory the Jew may be at times.
Though, just my personal opinion, I honestly think we should let Israel to herself. I think they can at this point, stomp anyone who dares try anything. Plus, the reason we are attacked by terrorists is primarily because our government intervenes there so much. So he's not anti-Israel, he's just very pro-American. If U.S. intervention in anothers conflicts puts the people of this country in jeopardy, the policy should be changed, no matter who it is.
If anti-racist immigrant placement programs like the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society have such a deep, anti-racist, abiding love for people of color, then why doesn't Israel open up its gates to third world multiculturalism, and diversity? Why is Israel's immigration policy ethnic Jewish-only? Why does the Palestinian minority have to live in seperate neighborhoods & attend different schools? Why is interracial marriage illegal in Israel? Furthermore, why no black people in Israel, or Hispanics?
If the ragheads want to be treated right in Israel then stop blowing things up. They made their bed now they have to sleep in it. Your last question is silly.
What about Haitians, Asians, Pillippinos, Latinos, Negroes? Why can't they emigrate to Israel, and seek out opportunity, education, a better life, and a path toward citizenship over there?
I'm not going to throw my hat in the ring with a bunch of skinheads you jackass. You want to line up with that bunch they go ahead. Don't forget your swatstika.
Listen here, you mindless, un-insightful, un-educated bag of shit. I for one have not throw my had in with any political party's ring because my support isn't for sale, and I don't give it for anything less then a wise, honest and virtuous man. Ron Paul and Chuck Baldwin both embody those characteristics. I support them both. Why don't you move to Israel? You seemed to have thrown your hat in their ring, oh wait, they won't take dipshits like you. FYI,I fully support Israel to defend herself.
Think about this. 300 yrs ago it would take a considerable amount of time and man power to tally votes and have someone travel to D.C. to deliver the results. It would take over a yr to elect a president. Did they wait a yr before they put someone in? No, they didn't. The president was put in mainly on electoral votes from the senate who were already close to D.C. So when you vote, your voting for your local representatives, not the president.
We are so skrewed.Get ready to be abused by the govt.Higher taxes, less civil rights and corruption to the tilt..why are there so many brainwashed people in my country?Seems like we live in a society of clueless people. Why do these ppl believe more govt control is going to help them.Make no dam sense, please tell me how will these ppl survive when govt can no longer function because of their bad credit.lol you folks need to wake up.We aint in kansas anymore.
Guys like Baldwin have got to have more money to fight through the media bias and citizen apathy.
Also, he's got to use that money better than Ron Paul did his, who should have been spending those millions he got from the internet on national TV ads during the debate season. He shouldn't have had any money left over if he was running a truly serious campaign.
It makes me wonder who these men have as their campaign managers.
Are you ready to hand the Senate, House, Presidency, Media, Educational System, and Health Care System over to Liberals? If you feel that a complete void of balance of power is OK with you, then feel to vote 3rd party or for Obama. It disgusts me that We are a two party system, but voting third party won't change that.
Your insistence that there is really a difference between the "two parties" and the notion that you are handing anything over IS the problem. Once you realize that there is no difference, how is voting within that system supposed to change anything? A conscious vote is never wasted.
I, too, have grown weary hearing how I am wasting my vote (in my case for Barr). I love how you flipped typical view that we are the 'employers' of the people we vote for, and replaced it with the idea that the guys and gals we are voting for are more like our kids, to whom we are giving our credit cards to. Think in THOSE terms when you go to the polls!
I'm not surprised. Southern Baptists have never really believed in this principle, they just trot it out as ground bait. It shoudn't be forgotten that the Southern Baptist convention was as "pro-choice" as they come before they realised they could shake down more money by being pro-life.
Vote for your theocrat if it makes you happy, enjoy your high moral ground before it gets leveled in the name of class justice under comrade Obama.
Chuck Baldwin does not support a theocracy. Watch the last 10 minutes or so of his debate with Nader on CSPAN where he speaks about the separation between church and state. He's a very religious man but he still advocates the freedom for all people to practice (or not practice) their religion as they see fit. He's also a strict Constitutionalist; combine that with the text of the first amendment and you see a theocracy is not going to happen under him.
I agree with you completely and love your honest reporting of the facts. Vote for anybody but the two main parties. At least it will send a strong message.
I agree with your lithmus tests, but not your philosophy. Your "just one vote" mentality is as idealistic as your candidate is theocratic.
To call Obama the "status quo" isn't much of a stretch. He's a typical politician... but he does break some boundaries, and he does stand a chance at stirring things up a little. The elite have control, as a result of people being dumb. Another "maverick"-cowboy retard, or a big government liberal. Sadly, your vote really only counts if you vote for them.
As a resident Charlestonian, you should know why Mc Cain is the Republican candiate. Charleston has been Mc Cain's rock for 2008, and it doesn't have anything to do with Lindsay Graham. Lindsay Graham didn't make it to the Senate 02. He was HR 3rd SC memeber in 2000, when McCain took large personal attacks from the BUSH/PEELER..SC IS BUSH COUNTRY CAMPAIGN. McCain was extremely popular then. I voted for McCain in the primary, and I will be voting with Mr Powell for Obama in the election.
Seriously though, why do you want a guy who promotes theocracy? Because its ok so long as CHristians do it?
Your stock has really dropped over the last three weeks. Baldwin, by standing on stage with Cynthia McKinney and Ralpha Nader thus sanctions his support for them. Oportunism over principle, Jack, is all that can be said about that incident. That Baldwin aspires to be Rick Warren with serious political clout is incredibly concerning.
Foreign Policy: I won't mind some one a little hawkish. I might even prefer it. But no more team America world police. You can chide Iran if they do something stupid, maybe even come to the rescue in a situation where actual unwarranted aggression is committed. But no more "They have nukes and we don't want them to".
Economy; The bail out is a good litmus test here. For it? No way. Against it? Even if you believe in social justice like Nader of McKinney? Sure.
Civil liberties: I am willing ti ignore a lot here, but understand libertarian principles. I don't like gun grabbers and am extremely leery of both the politically correct left (Nader and McKinney) and the religious right (Baldwin) but if you get the general idea, I won't hold what I see as misinterpretation against you. The ultimate test is the patriot act, but the real ID act and fisa amendment come into play there too.
Obama and McCain fail. The other four win. That's what's so depressing.
Chuck Baldwin says he will abolish the Patriot Act. It is unconstitutional. He also believes in your right to bear arms. Tells his congregation to buy them if they don't have them, if you have them then buy more. He supports the CONSTITUTION. Give him a look.
Yet another fine commentary. I too will be casting my vote for Chuck Baldwin this election. I wish that the rest of my fellow Republicans could follow such a principled path as the one you suggest, but the lure of party labels coupled with the fear of Obama makes such a hope a fantasy. Alas.
i have my own litmus test and nader bombs that one. affirmative action? single payer health care? are you serious? way too "big government nanny state" for my tastes.
i'm a proud third party supporter, but libertarian above all else. i wish there weren't so many semi-popular 3rd party candidates this year. if they all receive 3% of the vote, it looks like the usual 3rd party non-performance. if we only had one and they get 12-15%, that's making more of a statement.
too bad celebrities are pretty dumb. a slew of them saying they're voting 3rd party would do the trick. instead they support obama cuz they don't know better.
I wish Bob Barr were on the ballot in Louisiana... I might have troubled myself to vote... but since a republican Judge removed him from the Ballot in Louisiana, I have no need to worry about voting in this race between white and dark meat from the same old goose.
yeah, what a dirty move. Barr made the requirements, but Louisiana politics are dirty. i'm from there originally, they'll do anything to keep the GOP in charge...and they don't mind an easy bribe either. if the campaign had the money to push the issue further, i'm sure they'd uncover some real dirt. glad i registered in TX just in time instead of doing absentee.
If noone ever broke away from the status quo, women would not be able to vote, blacks would not have equal rights, & we would all still be flying the Union Jack at our post offices.
Yeah. The whole voting for the lesser of the two evils is always the worst way to think. You got to know what's best for you and what you think is best for the country as a whole and go for it. I personally think, though, that no vote is a wasted one, but no vote at all is a waste.
Yea! warcraft1920 is a total idiot. He has nothing better to do than make stupid assumptions about people. He should stick to his cartoon video's. It's more a kin to his mentality.
7.Your right. He wants it taught next to evolution. Do you know how long it takes for scientist to get there shit accepted into science books? You would bypass all the necessary steps. Our schools are already shitty dont make them worse. As for your other post attcking someones character is usually the fools way of covering for weak arguments.
7. I'm pretty sure he wants to leave education to the states and the people, as the Constitution mandates. If they want to teach creationism in Charlotte, and you live in San Diego, why the hell do you care? Its not your community, much less your state. Schools are shitty because the federal government interferes in market forces that improve quality and lower cost. No Child Left Behind is a hallmark of government intervention. I'm not attacking YOU, I'm attacking your lack of understanding
Your right and wrong. Baldwin believes parents choose who educates their children. No government state or federal has the right to choose a child's education the parents decide. Go to Chucks website I think that is where I found that. I also briefly spoke with him on Federal aide for college student. My daughter is in college & not much aide because she made the right choices. Like not having children out of wedlock that she couldn't support. Isn't ethic. Those are just some of the examples.
EXCELLENT video, you've said so much what I've been trying to convince people of for so long!!!
And yes, my two most important issues are foreign policy and illegals!
While there are many other very important issues, these two are doing the most immediate damage. After that comes the getting rid of the Federal reserve.
Vote for Chuck Baldwin to save our country!
Nader is a good guy, but I really think he and his running mate would fall far short with the illegal immigration problem.
Congratualations Jack you and Ron Paul could not have come up with a better way to endorse the status quo without compromising your principles than to endorse a Florida vacuum cleaner salesman with zero political experience.
Of all the 3rd party candidates Nader is now the most likely to break the 5% needed for a 3rd party to better compete in 2012. Barr and Baldwin will fall short with 3-4% leaving both of these conservative leaning 3rd parties back on square 1 in 2012. Thanx Ron n Jack!
Sine I live in Montana, I get to vote for Ron Paul. I'd vote for Ron Paul even if he wasn't on the ballot here. It's a shame the GOP refused to endorse the only true conservative in the race. McCain is a much a conservative as Pelosi. McCain, like all the other neo-cons, has one thing on his mind; one world government. And Obama is no better.
Reasons I would never vote Chuck Baldwin. He would over turn Roe Vs Wade. Believes Americans have the right to carry ak47s. He would do out with Social Security. He would have a tax relief on religious schools. He would drill in Alaska. He believes its a privilege not a right to see a doctor if your sick. And over all hes to fucking religious for me. He believes in creation and thinks it should be taught to kids in schools. Sorry I would cut off my left nut before voting for him.
I hate to break it to you, but 1. True AK-47's are illegal and almost certainly black market. 2. The legal AK-47 variants, along with all the other "assault weapons" are only responsible for 2% to 8% of ALL gun crime according to the ATF and FBI crime statistics. 3. Ironically, in some states there is no law against openly carrying rifles, whether they are semi-automatic or not.
Just a question. Do you support gun registration? You do know that crimnals by law cannot register their guns.
Yes I do. But it dosent matter. People like the crips, bloodz and MS13 will get ahold of these weapons anyways. They rob gun owners and sellers. Thats were most of them get them. I have no problems with rifles and pistols. I just think aks and m16s are a bit much. Japan has a complete ban of guns in their country, and they have one of the lowest crime rates in the world.
Japanese police and military are very brutal. Look into their legal system, police interogations, and you will see what I mean.
If you would like a more U.S. like example, look to Mexico and how well that gun ban has worked. No legal citizen can own any firearm. Yet the thugs and cartels are armed with those nice fully auto AK-47's you can't legally buy in the U.S. Not to mention MP5's & G36's from the mexican government, or M-16's stolen from the U.S. government.
Thats one thing the feds won't tell you up front. Some of those guns illegally crossing the border, did not belong to U.S. citizens. Many more of the arms used by the cartels are either black market, or government issued (stolen from the U.S. or Mexico governments) than are guns stolen from citizens. Not saying they don't do that too. But as long as they can smuggle in AK's from Nicaragua and Guatamala, we really can't do anything.
1.I find it funny how you conservatives advocate small government, but want that government to tell an entire group of people they have no right to marry. And tell women they have no right over their own bodies. Its not improper.
2.Theres no reason to have AK47s. You cant hunt with them. They maim an amimal not kill it. Its to big for self defence. Its only used to hunt humans. Unless your military or police why do you need that firepower?
1. What you fail to realize is that a lot of us don't call ourselves "conservatives" any longer because of the way that term has been twisted to fit the agenda of neo-conservatives, the same way that 'liberal' doesn't mean what it used to. Small government proponents don't want to tell ANYONE who they can marry, but rather that the federal government has no authority over the issue. I support gay marriage.
2. Its a free country. The 2nd amendment isn't for hunting, but to protect yourself
Now when you're ready to put down the crack (warcraft, or WOW), and stop watching cartoons/anime, and actually research history and economics, then come and talk to the adults.
I played WOW religiously for 2 years. Thank God I grew up. And yes, I do believe in evolution.
Oh. Independents. Fake independents, if you ask me. I'm in a political behavior class at MU, and according to the data only 10-15% of Indies are real Indies. Leaners (those who more favoring of either the GOP or Dems) are actually quite partisan in their behavior, so they're not true Indies. The Leaning Republican Indies were probably the ones who came out in favor of Palin, not real indies who try to be objective toward the parties. I'm one of those true Indies. I hate both parties.
And I HATE Independents who claim to be Indy, but then they say it was just b/c they didn't wanna be associated with either party, even though their views on the issues never changed. So they're Democrats or Republicans without a party, basically. They have coopted Independents for too long. The Leaners never actually vote Independent or 3rd party, just voting for some Dems and some Republicans, not along party lines.
I must admitt that the closer we get to election day the harder it is for me to NOT vote for McCain just to help defeat Barack Obama. But I will stay true to my heart & vote for Chuck Baldwin. I made my decision today after listening to the 3rd party debate between him & Nader on C-SPAN radio. BALDWIN 2008!
Id say a candidate like Baldwin would be more likely after a McCain presidency than after an Obama Presidency and yes I agree, stopping Obama is not going to solve anything but it will keep far greater catastrophe of governance from happening and *YES IT CAN* ==> get far worse with Obama!
I dont know about that! Obama will take more of our liberties away than McCain. 1st admendment & 2nd will be in danger big time. Socialism will take over & we will be giving more $ to other countries than our own...ect...ect. I think Baldwin will have a better chance after a nightmare like Obama.
What proof do you have that Obama will do any of that? Oh thats right you have none. Just more republican fear mongering. The same thing was said about clinton and he led us to the biggest economic gain in American history. I guess them dirty librals accually know how to run an economy. But I guess unless we take away homosexualls human rights and tell women whats best for their bodies you conservatives wont be happy. I guess your pissed cause them damn niggers are not in them feilds either.
What proof do you have of anything? The future has no proof, but everything that has ever influenced him from ALinsky to Fannon to Soros points in that direction.
I totally disagree with 'conservative' positions on gays, abortion and I dont need your garbage about 'niggers in fields'. I judge as individuals and there are plenty of whites I have no use for and blacks I am very fond of as intellectuals, Thomas Sowell, Neil Tyson, S James Gates, etc. Fuck You for assuming that Im 'racist'.
I agree with what you said about Obama but think that relative stability is more likely to eventually occur under McCain and I disagree with the conventional idea that says chaotic periods are more likely to allow for POSITIVE innovation.
Typically in human history, the most chaotic and unstable periods are followed by even more irrationality and authoritarian govts, often masquerading as something else but being very brutal. An Obama-collapse would put us in brutal foreign receivership.
I agree. I am just hopefull that with the momentum that The Campaign for Liberty has we will be able to effect some substantial change the next time around. Everyone hates conservatives right now because Bush misrepresented us for 8 horrible years. After an Obama nation, hopefully the rest of America will be wide awake to the uselessness of both political parties & realize that traditional consevatism & constitutional adherence is the only way to go. I plan to keep spreading the message.
I hope you do have an influence. I am still of the opinion that a McCain presidency would help Baldwin and RP supporters more b/c it would preserve a critical level of stability and yet not really *solve* the underlying problems. An Obama approach would be such a catastrophe there would be few pieces worth picking up in the aftermath. I really think that kind of collapse is not a way to more responsibility, its a way to be auctioned off at distressed sales before even getting to the next cycle.
Good point. I just think that it will take a brick upside the head to wake up the legions of sleepers in this country. Obama's policies would qualify. McCain might not screw up enough! LOL!!
Did you actually say that most of the new supporters of the McCain campaign because of the Palin pick were LIBERTARIAN Republicans?? Oh, jesus christ! How the fuck does that add up? Palin is anything BUT a libertarian, just like mcCain. I don't get it.
I'm voting for Nader. The CP is just way too conservative on social issues for me. It's also too anti-regulation and laissez-faire, aside from the typical anti-free trade CP position, on economics. Plus, what kind of fucking party mentions gambling and pornography in their platform?? Voters don't give a shit about those at the national level! They may not have those 2 issues in their platform now, but I know as early as recently as 2004, they did.
And what's this "stopping Barack Obama" crap at the beginning? Based on your rhetoric about the current GOP and McCain, I'd figure you'd say "stopping John McCain." That'd make more sense, even if you agree with him more. I mean, do you honestly think that Obama can be any worse of a president than John McCain? I'll take 'socialism' over perpetual war, national security state, and declining civil liberties any day. At least socialism will only hurt my wallet.
Oh you'll get plenty of liberties removed if BO has his way. HOw about mandates on politically correct speech getting like some European countries were muslims can wish 'bombs on London' in the street w/out consequence but Englishmen can get fined for calling them fucking muzzie swine.
When they have the presidential debates why is it always just McCain and Obama? Why won't they have the other candidates who are running on the other parties? Are they afraid it might lure away some disgruntled Dems and Repubs? Even the "Fair and Balanced" Fox Network never mentions that others are running. I supported Ron Paul who got hardly any press at all. He made more since than any of them.
Obama is not a natural born US citizen, he was born in Kenya. He has never produced a birth certificate. That is very relevant to anyone remotely interested in Constitutional integrity, however much it has been eroded by both parties. This crosses the farthest line of election boundaries to have someone not a natural born US citizen in serious contention for our highest office.
I love your videos, and would really like to distribute them more. In fact I do pass a lot of them on to my friends and family.
However, I come from an immigrant family, and while I agree with your position on immigration, I would not frame the issue as you seem to.
I understand that the constituency in S.C. might like this type of rhetoric, but it IS U.S./IMF actions that 1) impoverish Mexico/Central American countries, 2) encourage immigration via the welfare state.
In legal terms, if you leave your door open with a sign on it that says "Everyone Welcome," you can't have someone who does walk in arrested and charged with breaking & entering.
Similarly, you can't tell people that came here and started planting roots that "you have to leave now, Bye bye."
Immigration is your 2nd litmus test? Really? Not free markets, free trade, balanced budgets, or civil liberties?
It's my understanding that true libertarians recognize that in a healthy economy we would NEED a lot of low-wage immigrant workers.
In sum, the tone of your videos in re: amnesty make it difficult for me to use your videos as a tool to help educate others on so many principles we agree on.
Again, I agree illegal immigration is a high-priority issue, but you have to simultaneously discuss the causes and real solutions. That, and don't blame people for walking into your house.
In jurisprudence, specifically in Property Law, there is a doctrine known as "adverse possession."
Think of immigration as analogous. If people rely on your negligence, after a statutory period, you can't rescind your open invitation for them to act in whatever way you allowed them to.
Originally I was either thinking of choosing Barr or most likely choosing Barr over Baldwin (who I knew very little about). It seemed like Baldwin was closer to Ron Paul after looking into what he says/writes, but I thought maybe it would be better to go with the 2nd best since he was getting on TV, has experience, etc. Too hard of a choice...not that it would make much of a difference. People still seem to be content on choosing the least worst.
I've been a Libertarian for thirty years. As much as I agree with the Avenger on nearly everything I am going to have to go with Barr. My examination of their platforms gives me no reason to switch to Baldwin though RP's endorsement makes it more difficult than I would have liked.
Bob Barr infiltrated your party & then dissed Ron Paul on purpose to hurt the Libertarians. He is a neo-con spoiler. I think this was planned all along. He has always done the neo-con/Republican dirty work. He may be sounding like a libertarian now but his record has neo-con written all over it. Watch it man! I smell a big rat.
Well, I don't know if it was planned, but when I started looking into Baldwin's views, I thought maybe I should pick up. Plus RP endorses him. Plus, like you mentioned - his past.
I know this was to the person above, but just thought I'd say something. :) That is kinda odd he canceled at the last minute (I think 40 mins. before it was going to start) and then RP, who was neutral, went ahead and picked CB after BB was asking for his stamp of approval.
Thats what bugged me the most. You dont sign on with everyone, shake hands on the deal with Dr. Paul & then cancel at the last minute stating, "I am just too busy to come". Then publically hold your own conference right down the hall!! This shows that Barr has no honor or respect for the bigger picture that we are all fighting for. He showed his true colors & lost alot of votes doing so. I think it might have been planned.
Politics is an ugly place. Barr likes Rand, which I think is a positive. I think much of his record is reflective of the political situation. However, I do fear that he might be to the Libertarian Party what Buchanan was to the Reform Party: a Republicrat infiltrator bent on destroying the party from within.
Well, like i was saying, Barr seems to get more coverage on TV (not sure if Baldwin's been on any TV shows), so recently I was thinking if Barr is the second best, maybe I should still choose him since he'd probably get more votes.
What do you like better from Barr compared to Baldwin? Or is just that you decided on Barr and chose to stick with him?
I am leary of Baldwin's stance on protectionism. I like both of their stances on the Constitution. Frankly, I am sick and tired of the document I have repeatedly sworn to defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic, being used as toilet paper by both of the major parties. I would dearly love to see a lot of people either jailed or deported because of these actions.
Maybe you should look at Chuck Baldwins website. If I am understanding you correctly then Baldwin & Castle would be a fit for your believes. No policing the world, No open borders even the anchor babies go back. Folks go to jail. Look at his youtube videos and visit his site. Google constitution party ballot. He also doesn't owe any corporation or lobbyist. Obama & McCain both owe someone and it isn't the American people. Obama will take yours and share plus your guns.
He sounds like someone I could support, but I am not seeming him different enough to not support the Libertarian Party in favor of him. My litmus test is #1 Constitution.
Steve0281, not that you need my approval, but how is you think that Baldwin is against Article 1, Sec 1? Am I looking at the your correct litmus test? Baldwin is a better fit for me, Nader 2nd.
Go 3rd parties 08. Our way of life was not obtained overnight, many efforts from the people for long periods of made it possible. Don't Quit before the finish line.
Valid choice SA. I'm going with Nader. Baldwin unfortunately didn't make it on the PA ballot nor did McKinney. Nader and Baldwin had a good debate last night. Would've been better if they had a better moderator. Chris Hedges apparently likes to read an entire encyclopedia before getting to the question.
Coincidentally (if it is one), Hedges has a book about the religious right. I think he seemed to say "uh" and "umm" too many times...kinda like someone else who's on TV a lot. ;)
I was going to vote for Chuck Baldwin. But I was on his website a few weeks ago and read his "Baldwin/Castle Doctrine". His extreme protectionist policies scare me. He went as far as to say no foreigner would be allowed to own a house in America, foreign companies wouldn't be allowed to build a factory in America, and no foreigner would be allowed to own stocks in American corporations.
Unfortunatley "Constitution Party" represents a Christian Theocratic country in the United States... Everything else is right on, but when you are such radical Christian there is ner a chance we will be better off than Iran or Saudi Arabia in the end.
Another great video that I agree with wholeheartedly. People always look at this election as the "most critical" and that defeating the "worst candidate" is all that matters. This is shortsightedness that is only short term good but long term bad.
"The greatest power the people have is their vote and in supporting the lesser of two evils voters ensure eternal evil."
That's a great quote that is a worth repeating. We the people can put an end the status quo but only if we vote against it.
Root was stepping aside from the VP spot to allow Paul the spot. Paul was hyping up the media with lies to get more attention for the event (Bob didn't like that at all), and the speech he gave was not in line with Bobs Values, it was more like a personality cult. Bob decided that he didn't need that for his campaign.
lol @ root stepping aside. look bob barr is a freak. there are stories about this perv that are very disturbing. im not going to go there... let's just say he has skeletons.
So working for an intel agency should disqualify you? I know a lot of people in the community that support RP. Should he be disqualified then as well?
At the very least I can be glad there are people with the sense to vote third party. When you realize the opposing parties are the same you realize you're getting hyped up about nothing: Obama will move center, and yes McCain will move left, as if you haven't already noticed. They're both malleable candidates who go through the process and do as they're told. Chuck Baldwin may be an ass, but congratulations, at least you're voting third party. And better to be held accountable.
Originally, I was either going to pick Barr or most likely going to choose him. Then I started looking into Baldwin's stuff and he seems like he might be closer to RP - of course he's endorsed by him too. I've seen some skeptical comments about Barr because of his past, but hopefully he's not still mostly Rep. now in the Libertarian party. Nader seems to have some good ideas too, but closer to the left on other things.
While I prefer you'd vote Nader, way to go in voting 3rd party. Funny how these idiots get angry at non-voters, yet gripe when you DO vote and it's not for their guy.
1. Palin does not appeal to me(an independent). Troopergate and those books she tried to censor don't sit well with me.
2. Ron pPaul has not endorsed a single person yet
3. Chuck Balwin is a theocrat and an isolationist.
This election, I really don't like any of the candidates that are running(haven't checked into Nader yet), but so far I'll most likely be voting for bob barr.(pending how i agree with Nader). Bob barr has said the magic words of "reduce spending before looking at tax"
Ron Paul actually did endorse Baldwin about a month ago, and on exactly what issue is he a theocrat? I don't see him calling for the state to enforce religious orthodoxy. In fact, he has emphatically articulated his belief in religious freedom.
And an isolationist? In what sense? His foreign policy is arguably less "isolationist" than Ron Paul's, since Baldwin criticized Bush for going to Beijing for the Olympics, whereas Ron Paul has cautioned us against being hypocrites about China.
for some reason, i remember ron paul saying he wanted freindly relations with other countries, probably because he did. i dont remember RP proposing that we withdraw from nato.
"Baldwin criticized Bush for going to Beijing for the Olympics, whereas Ron Paul has cautioned us against being hypocrites about China."
that makes baldwin more isolationist that ron paul what are you talking about?
As for NATO, Ron Paul definitely wants us out, just like he wants us out of the UN.
What I meant about Baldwin's foreign policy is that it is less "isolationist" than Ron Paul's because Baldwin is willing to criticize other countries' internal conduct. But most people define "isolationist" as "minding one's own business." I prefer to call it non-interventionism. What the Republicrats give us is isolationism, i. e., government enforced isolation from other countries, such as Cuba and Iran.
i think criticizing other countries practices by boycotting their events is a show of minor hostility and hostility toward nations that you could have friendly relations with is most certainly isolationist to me. It's like not sitting down and talking with leaders of iran. that is isolationist.
2) Baldwin's Christian stances is my only negative about him and even then, in comparisons to neocon Christians, the negative is rather minor.
3) Going back to 1, who Ron Paul supports shouldn't affect who you choose for president. I decided on Baldwin before Paul gave his support (even though he's only a write-in in California). You chose Barr. Nuff said. :-)
the neocons have thrown palin under the bus.... they vetted her and now they destroy her as they abandon ship. hey.. i love Baldwin but things are so bad right now our best shot is a long shot.. i.e. mccain/palin getting in office and then Palin taking the reigns... this is actually much better odds than chuck baldwin winning. baldwin's odd are 100 million to 1. the elections are scripted.... the neocons jumping ship to their communist roots.. i.e. obama is the worst case scenario.
LOL @ Chuck Baldwin. Might as well vote for one of the fuel rods at Fukushima.

The reason I didn't vote for Baldwin was because of his anti-semtic tendicies. A lot of goose-steppers and cross burners were attracted to him.
tempusfugit68 3 years ago
What is anti-semetic? Why not just say, "ANti-Jewish?" The semetic comment doesn't even mention those other semites, the Arabs. I wonder why semite was chosen? Perhaps it's more exotoc, or intellectual sounding than anti-Jew?
Zrazys 3 years ago 3
You may be right. But most people understand what is being said when the phrase is used.
Your Arab are half semitic and half hammite.
tempusfugit68 3 years ago
I have never heard him utter anything "anti-semetic." Did you ever actually hear him say anything or just associate him with a few wacky supporters? I am not asking in a confrontational way, I am just curious. Especially since he is a minister.
It's similar to how some people thought Ron Paul was a racist because there were some white supremacists that donated to him (because he was very pro-free speech).
metalmike06 3 years ago
I have two close frineds who were card carriers of the Constitutional Party and left it because it was being hijacked by skin heads and KKK.
I may have been a little harsh with my statement about Baldwin. But his does believe in throwing the nation of Israel to the dogs. I cannot support this view no matter how unsavory the Jew may be at times.
tempusfugit68 3 years ago
Ah, I understand.
If U.S. intervention in anothers conflicts puts the people of this country in jeopardy, the policy should be changed, no matter who it is.
metalmike06 3 years ago
That is interesting though, I didn't know so many nuts were taking the party.

Think about this. 300 yrs ago it would take a considerable amount of time and man power to tally votes and have someone travel to D.C. to deliver the results. It would take over a yr to elect a president. Did they wait a yr before they put someone in? No, they didn't. The president was put in mainly on electoral votes from the senate who were already close to D.C. So when you vote, your voting for your local representatives, not the president.

Chuck Baldwin does not support a theocracy. Watch the last 10 minutes or so of his debate with Nader on CSPAN where he speaks about the separation between church and state. He's a very religious man but he still advocates the freedom for all people to practice (or not practice) their religion as they see fit. He's also a strict Constitutionalist; combine that with the text of the first amendment and you see a theocracy is not going to happen under him.

My litmus tests are three fold.
Sure.
Silvsilvchan 3 years ago
Civil liberties: I am willing ti ignore a lot here, but understand libertarian principles. I don't like gun grabbers and am extremely leery of both the politically correct left (Nader and McKinney) and the religious right (Baldwin) but if you get the general idea, I won't hold what I see as misinterpretation against you. The ultimate test is the patriot act, but the real ID act and fisa amendment come into play there too.
Obama and McCain fail. The other four win. That's what's so depressing.
Silvsilvchan 3 years ago
Chuck Baldwin says he will abolish the Patriot Act. It is unconstitutional. He also believes in your right to bear arms. Tells his congregation to buy them if they don't have them, if you have them then buy more. He supports the CONSTITUTION. Give him a look.

Yet another fine commentary. I too will be casting my vote for Chuck Baldwin this election. I wish that the rest of my fellow Republicans could follow such a principled path as the one you suggest, but the lure of party labels coupled with the fear of Obama makes such a hope a fantasy. Alas.

i'm a proud third party supporter, but libertarian above all else. i wish there weren't so many semi-popular 3rd party candidates this year. if they all receive 3% of the vote, it looks like the usual 3rd party non-performance. if we only had one and they get 12-15%, that's making more of a statement.
too bad celebrities are pretty dumb. a slew of them saying they're voting 3rd party would do the trick. instead they support obama cuz they don't know better.

Yeah. The whole voting for the lesser of the two evils is always the worst way to think. You got to know what's best for you and what you think is best for the country as a whole and go for it. I personally think, though, that no vote is a wasted one, but no vote at all is a waste.

Our schools are already shitty dont make them worse. As for your other post attcking someones character is usually the fools way of covering for weak arguments.
warcraft1920 3 years ago
I'm not attacking YOU, I'm attacking your lack of understanding
immanent 3 years ago
Your right and wrong. Baldwin believes parents choose who educates their children. No government state or federal has the right to choose a child's education the parents decide. Go to Chucks website I think that is where I found that. I also briefly spoke with him on Federal aide for college student. My daughter is in college & not much aide because she made the right choices. Like not having children out of wedlock that she couldn't support. Isn't ethic. Those are just some of the examples.

3.Not what his website said. Take a look at it. He wants to do out with in completely.
4.Destroying what little natrual habitat to get at oil that MIGHT be there is not the way to go.
5.Feds already tax schools. When you join the military you get a sign on bonus. Government takes 20% in taxes. Samething happens in schools.
6.LOL I see. If you make minimum wage and you get sick it sucks to be you? And I thought this was the land of opportunity?

3. I don't have to look, I've heard straight from his mouth that he won't take it from people who have become dependent on it. Its a phase out.
4. Habitat doesn't get destroyed. Clean drilling tech has come a long way.
5. Ok, and you think governments SHOULD tax schools? I was never taxed to go to school, so I'm not sure what you're talking about anyway.
6. If the gov't didn't inflate the currency, and had a solid balance sheet, you could afford all the health care in the world.

Nader is a good guy, but I really think he and his running mate would fall far short with the illegal immigration problem.
EastOfEden1 3 years ago

Sorry I would cut off my left nut before voting for him.
warcraft1920 3 years ago
judging from all the aspects you are taking issue with I am assuming you are acctually voting for your left nutt :)
unmarkedX 3 years ago
I hate to break it to you, but 1. True AK-47's are illegal and almost certainly black market. 2. The legal AK-47 variants, along with all the other "assault weapons" are only responsible for 2% to 8% of ALL gun crime according to the ATF and FBI crime statistics. 3. Ironically, in some states there is no law against openly carrying rifles, whether they are semi-automatic or not.
Just a question. Do you support gun registration? You do know that crimnals by law cannot register their guns.
txngasnguns 3 years ago
txngasnguns
Yes I do. But it dosent matter. People like the crips, bloodz and MS13 will get ahold of these weapons anyways. They rob gun owners and sellers. Thats were most of them get them. I have no problems with rifles and pistols. I just think aks and m16s are a bit much. Japan has a complete ban of guns in their country, and they have one of the lowest crime rates in the world.
warcraft1920 3 years ago
Japanese police and military are very brutal. Look into their legal system, police interogations, and you will see what I mean.
If you would like a more U.S. like example, look to Mexico and how well that gun ban has worked. No legal citizen can own any firearm. Yet the thugs and cartels are armed with those nice fully auto AK-47's you can't legally buy in the U.S. Not to mention MP5's & G36's from the mexican government, or M-16's stolen from the U.S. government.
txngasnguns 3 years ago
Thats one thing the feds won't tell you up front. Some of those guns illegally crossing the border, did not belong to U.S. citizens. Many more of the arms used by the cartels are either black market, or government issued (stolen from the U.S. or Mexico governments) than are guns stolen from citizens. Not saying they don't do that too. But as long as they can smuggle in AK's from Nicaragua and Guatamala, we really can't do anything.
txngasnguns 3 years ago
Please do cut off your left nut, and your right one while you're at it, so as not to procreate.
1. Roe V Wade is Constitutionally improper
2. You do have that right, but who really would? They're heavy and bulky.
3. He would let young people opt out, not take it away from anyone.
4. We already drill a million other places. environmental issues can be handled in court.
5. Why should the fed tax any school?
6. Health care is a responsibility, NOT a right.
7. He wouldn't force creation on anyone
immanent 3 years ago
1.I find it funny how you conservatives advocate small government, but want that government to tell an entire group of people they have no right to marry. And tell women they have no right over their own bodies. Its not improper.
2.Theres no reason to have AK47s. You cant hunt with them. They maim an amimal not kill it. Its to big for self defence. Its only used to hunt humans. Unless your military or police why do you need that firepower?
cont.
warcraft1920 3 years ago

I hate both parties.
whoo689 3 years ago
And I HATE Independents who claim to be Indy, but then they say it was just b/c they didn't wanna be associated with either party, even though their views on the issues never changed.

Dedhedted71 3 years ago
Id say a candidate like Baldwin would be more likely after a McCain presidency than after an Obama Presidency and yes I agree, stopping Obama is not going to solve anything but it will keep far greater catastrophe of governance from happening and *YES IT CAN* ==> get far worse with Obama!
midnight9wanderer 3 years ago
I dont know about that! Obama will take more of our liberties away than McCain. 1st admendment & 2nd will be in danger big time. Socialism will take over & we will be giving more $ to other countries than our own...ect...ect. I think Baldwin will have a better chance after a nightmare like Obama.
Dedhedted71 3 years ago
What proof do you have that Obama will do any of that? Oh thats right you have none. Just more republican fear mongering. The same thing was said about clinton and he led us to the biggest economic gain in American history. I guess them dirty librals accually know how to run an economy. But I guess unless we take away homosexualls human rights and tell women whats best for their bodies you conservatives wont be happy. I guess your pissed cause them damn niggers are not in them feilds either.
warcraft1920 3 years ago
What proof do you have of anything? The future has no proof, but everything that has ever influenced him from ALinsky to Fannon to Soros points in that direction.
I totally disagree with 'conservative' positions on gays, abortion and I dont need your garbage about 'niggers in fields'. I judge as individuals and there are plenty of whites I have no use for and blacks I am very fond of as intellectuals, Thomas Sowell, Neil Tyson, S James Gates, etc. Fuck You for assuming that Im 'racist'.
midnight9wanderer 3 years ago
I agree with what you said about Obama but think that relative stability is more likely to eventually occur under McCain and I disagree with the conventional idea that says chaotic periods are more likely to allow for POSITIVE innovation.
Typically in human history, the most chaotic and unstable periods are followed by even more irrationality and authoritarian govts, often masquerading as something else but being very brutal. An Obama-collapse would put us in brutal foreign receivership.
midnight9wanderer 3 years ago
Dedhedted71 3 years ago
I hope you do have an influence. I am still of the opinion that a McCain presidency would help Baldwin and RP supporters more b/c it would preserve a critical level of stability and yet not really *solve* the underlying problems. An Obama approach would be such a catastrophe there would be few pieces worth picking up in the aftermath. I really think that kind of collapse is not a way to more responsibility, its a way to be auctioned off at distressed sales before even getting to the next cycle.
midnight9wanderer 3 years ago
Good point. I just think that it will take a brick upside the head to wake up the legions of sleepers in this country. Obama's policies would qualify. McCain might not screw up enough! LOL!!

whoo689 3 years ago
I'm voting for Nader. The CP is just way too conservative on social issues for me. It's also too anti-regulation and laissez-faire, aside from the typical anti-free trade CP position, on economics. Plus, what kind of fucking party mentions gambling and pornography in their platform?? Voters don't give a shit about those at the national level! They may not have those 2 issues in their platform now, but I know as early as recently as 2004, they did.
whoo689 3 years ago
And what's this "stopping Barack Obama" crap at the beginning? Based on your rhetoric about the current GOP and McCain, I'd figure you'd say "stopping John McCain." That'd make more sense, even if you agree with him more. I mean, do you honestly think that Obama can be any worse of a president than John McCain? I'll take 'socialism' over perpetual war, national security state, and declining civil liberties any day. At least socialism will only hurt my wallet.

Jack,
I love your videos, and would really like to distribute them more. In fact I do pass a lot of them on to my friends and family.
However, I come from an immigrant family, and while I agree with your position on immigration, I would not frame the issue as you seem to.
I understand that the constituency in S.C. might like this type of rhetoric, but it IS U.S./IMF actions that 1) impoverish Mexico/Central American countries, 2) encourage immigration via the welfare state.
immanent 3 years ago
In legal terms, if you leave your door open with a sign on it that says "Everyone Welcome," you can't have someone who does walk in arrested and charged with breaking & entering.
Similarly, you can't tell people that came here and started planting roots that "you have to leave now, Bye bye."
Immigration is your 2nd litmus test? Really? Not free markets, free trade, balanced budgets, or civil liberties?
immanent 3 years ago
It's my understanding that true libertarians recognize that in a healthy economy we would NEED a lot of low-wage immigrant workers.
In sum, the tone of your videos in re: amnesty make it difficult for me to use your videos as a tool to help educate others on so many principles we agree on.
Again, I agree illegal immigration is a high-priority issue, but you have to simultaneously discuss the causes and real solutions. That, and don't blame people for walking into your house.
immanent 3 years ago
In jurisprudence, specifically in Property Law, there is a doctrine known as "adverse possession."
Think of immigration as analogous. If people rely on your negligence, after a statutory period, you can't rescind your open invitation for them to act in whatever way you allowed them to.

ndfootballch 3 years ago
Jack,
If Baldwin didn't make it to more state ballots than Barr and Bob passes your litmus test as well, why not vote for BB rather than CB?
steve0281 3 years ago
Originally I was either thinking of choosing Barr or most likely choosing Barr over Baldwin (who I knew very little about). It seemed like Baldwin was closer to Ron Paul after looking into what he says/writes, but I thought maybe it would be better to go with the 2nd best since he was getting on TV, has experience, etc. Too hard of a choice...not that it would make much of a difference. People still seem to be content on choosing the least worst.
FateEternal 3 years ago
I've been a Libertarian for thirty years. As much as I agree with the Avenger on nearly everything I am going to have to go with Barr. My examination of their platforms gives me no reason to switch to Baldwin though RP's endorsement makes it more difficult than I would have liked.
steve0281 3 years ago
Bob Barr infiltrated your party & then dissed Ron Paul on purpose to hurt the Libertarians. He is a neo-con spoiler. I think this was planned all along. He has always done the neo-con/Republican dirty work. He may be sounding like a libertarian now but his record has neo-con written all over it. Watch it man! I smell a big rat.
Dedhedted71 3 years ago
Well, I don't know if it was planned, but when I started looking into Baldwin's views, I thought maybe I should pick up. Plus RP endorses him. Plus, like you mentioned - his past.
I know this was to the person above, but just thought I'd say something. :) That is kinda odd he canceled at the last minute (I think 40 mins. before it was going to start) and then RP, who was neutral, went ahead and picked CB after BB was asking for his stamp of approval.
FateEternal 3 years ago
Thats what bugged me the most. You dont sign on with everyone, shake hands on the deal with Dr. Paul & then cancel at the last minute stating, "I am just too busy to come". Then publically hold your own conference right down the hall!! This shows that Barr has no honor or respect for the bigger picture that we are all fighting for. He showed his true colors & lost alot of votes doing so. I think it might have been planned.
Dedhedted71 3 years ago
Politics is an ugly place. Barr likes Rand, which I think is a positive. I think much of his record is reflective of the political situation. However, I do fear that he might be to the Libertarian Party what Buchanan was to the Reform Party: a Republicrat infiltrator bent on destroying the party from within.
steve0281 3 years ago
Well, like i was saying, Barr seems to get more coverage on TV (not sure if Baldwin's been on any TV shows), so recently I was thinking if Barr is the second best, maybe I should still choose him since he'd probably get more votes.
What do you like better from Barr compared to Baldwin? Or is just that you decided on Barr and chose to stick with him?
FateEternal 3 years ago
I am leary of Baldwin's stance on protectionism. I like both of their stances on the Constitution. Frankly, I am sick and tired of the document I have repeatedly sworn to defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic, being used as toilet paper by both of the major parties. I would dearly love to see a lot of people either jailed or deported because of these actions.
steve0281 3 years ago
Maybe you should look at Chuck Baldwins website. If I am understanding you correctly then Baldwin & Castle would be a fit for your believes. No policing the world, No open borders even the anchor babies go back. Folks go to jail. Look at his youtube videos and visit his site. Google constitution party ballot. He also doesn't owe any corporation or lobbyist. Obama & McCain both owe someone and it isn't the American people. Obama will take yours and share plus your guns.
may141986 3 years ago
He sounds like someone I could support, but I am not seeming him different enough to not support the Libertarian Party in favor of him. My litmus test is #1 Constitution.
steve0281 3 years ago

Nader/Gonzalez 2008!
8DoverNJ 3 years ago
Coincidentally (if it is one), Hedges has a book about the religious right. I think he seemed to say "uh" and "umm" too many times...kinda like someone else who's on TV a lot. ;)
FateEternal 3 years ago
I was going to vote for Chuck Baldwin. But I was on his website a few weeks ago and read his "Baldwin/Castle Doctrine". His extreme protectionist policies scare me. He went as far as to say no foreigner would be allowed to own a house in America, foreign companies wouldn't be allowed to build a factory in America, and no foreigner would be allowed to own stocks in American corporations.

I am voting for Chuck Baldwin. I just wish more people heard his message.

ArcticSlicer 3 years ago
who's the quote from?
FateEternal 3 years ago
Jack Hunter said in this video at about 1:20. It was a great quote that made the point about why we should support alternative candidates.

Hell it was Palin that ensured my vote for bob barr.
TheAtheistPaladin 3 years ago
bob barr is cia. ask ron paul what he thinks of barr after the stunt bob pulled at the 3rd party presser.
DennyMclain2008 3 years ago
You mean the dishonest stun that RON pulled? And Barr said "forget you."
TheAtheistPaladin 3 years ago
@TheAtheistPaladin: What did Paul do?
BWF89 3 years ago
Root was stepping aside from the VP spot to allow Paul the spot. Paul was hyping up the media with lies to get more attention for the event (Bob didn't like that at all), and the speech he gave was not in line with Bobs Values, it was more like a personality cult. Bob decided that he didn't need that for his campaign.
TheAtheistPaladin 3 years ago
lol @ root stepping aside. look bob barr is a freak. there are stories about this perv that are very disturbing. im not going to go there... let's just say he has skeletons.
DennyMclain2008 3 years ago
Isn't saying a politicians having skeletons kinda redundant?
What is funny of Root stepping aside? I would have happen if Ron didn't make him-self and asshat. (BTW this is coming from a former support of Ron).
TheAtheistPaladin 3 years ago
what hyping up with lies are you speaking of?

So working for an intel agency should disqualify you? I know a lot of people in the community that support RP. Should he be disqualified then as well?
steve0281 3 years ago
At the very least I can be glad there are people with the sense to vote third party. When you realize the opposing parties are the same you realize you're getting hyped up about nothing: Obama will move center, and yes McCain will move left, as if you haven't already noticed. They're both malleable candidates who go through the process and do as they're told. Chuck Baldwin may be an ass, but congratulations, at least you're voting third party. And better to be held accountable.
MarkBH70 3 years ago
Why do you say that about Baldwin?
Originally, I was either going to pick Barr or most likely going to choose him. Then I started looking into Baldwin's stuff and he seems like he might be closer to RP - of course he's endorsed by him too. I've seen some skeptical comments about Barr because of his past, but hopefully he's not still mostly Rep. now in the Libertarian party. Nader seems to have some good ideas too, but closer to the left on other things.
FateEternal 3 years ago
While I prefer you'd vote Nader, way to go in voting 3rd party. Funny how these idiots get angry at non-voters, yet gripe when you DO vote and it's not for their guy.

KaratekidX - Ron Paul DID endorse Baldwin.
hardmod777 3 years ago
KarateKidX 3 years ago
Ron Paul actually did endorse Baldwin about a month ago, and on exactly what issue is he a theocrat? I don't see him calling for the state to enforce religious orthodoxy. In fact, he has emphatically articulated his belief in religious freedom.
And an isolationist? In what sense? His foreign policy is arguably less "isolationist" than Ron Paul's, since Baldwin criticized Bush for going to Beijing for the Olympics, whereas Ron Paul has cautioned us against being hypocrites about China.
RMMHS4RP 3 years ago
for some reason, i remember ron paul saying he wanted freindly relations with other countries, probably because he did. i dont remember RP proposing that we withdraw from nato.
"Baldwin criticized Bush for going to Beijing for the Olympics, whereas Ron Paul has cautioned us against being hypocrites about China."
that makes baldwin more isolationist that ron paul what are you talking about?
KarateKidX 3 years ago
As for NATO, Ron Paul definitely wants us out, just like he wants us out of the UN.
What I meant about Baldwin's foreign policy is that it is less "isolationist" than Ron Paul's because Baldwin is willing to criticize other countries' internal conduct. But most people define "isolationist" as "minding one's own business." I prefer to call it non-interventionism. What the Republicrats give us is isolationism, i. e., government enforced isolation from other countries, such as Cuba and Iran.
RMMHS4RP 3 years ago
i think criticizing other countries practices by boycotting their events is a show of minor hostility and hostility toward nations that you could have friendly relations with is most certainly isolationist to me. It's like not sitting down and talking with leaders of iran. that is isolationist.
KarateKidX 3 years ago
1) As hardmod said, Ron Paul did endorse Baldwin.
