Ino i sound like i think i know everything but yr not supposed 2 leave too many crickets in the tanks at a time bc theyll pick at the geckos &/or get hungry and eat the geckos shadoobies thn get the gecko sick
@MrAwsomepino A 28 or 32 qt tub is more then enough room for a leopard gecko pair so you should be fine. Tho it's better to keep leos in 17 qt tubs as juveniles until they're full grown.
However I would NOT recommend the rack setup shown in this video. It's a big fire hazard. Pipe heating cables are not designed to be used all year around.
could you please send me a link to the heat source your using? i just bought a couple of those storage units and i want to house about 4 geckos with a technique that works. any piece of advice or list of supplies would be much appreciated. thanks in advance!
@remas14 Frost King Pipe heat cable is what I use.But this must be modified and ran off a dimmer switch.Check out my newer video I changed the design around a little.
I will post a video of how I wire the dimmer switch and modify the heat cable sometime today.
In the past year out of 38 geckos in that rack I have had one that escaped the tub but the ends, back, and bottom are sealed so theres no way to escape from the rack.I just had to pull the tub out and he was right there.
The other container are PERFECT for hatchlings.Unfortunately I have no idea who makes them.I got 100 of them at an auction for $20.
i used the bottom tub/drawer setup when i started out, but had quite a few escape through the small gaps. now i use them for my feeder colonies. im more interested in the boxes on the top. those seem completely sealed. could you post any information on where you got those? they seem to be perfect size for hatchlings
