You have more space to do it than me because you are able to stand up and wave your arms about etc. I can't do it standing up because I have sciatica. So i have to do it sitting down.
Nevertheless, apart from the dark picture, it is v. useful. Thanks :-)
Abby, I've been wanting to figure out how to spin for 25 years. I just plied my first two strand S twist ball of yarn, using a high whorl, in great deal thanks to your you tube videos and your GREAT book, Respect the Spindle. Review on Amazon to come. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU! I even set up a you tube account, so I could follow your channel. Great work, totally awesome, I so, so hope you're working with archaeologists on a regular basis!
Thank you for your feedback! I don't know if you read the text about it, but in case you missed it, you may find it enlightening. The video was made and put on youtube in response to discussions in other places a couple of years ago. It is not, as stated, intended to stand alone as an instructional piece. If you're actually interested in the technique, you may find the article linked of interest.
Hi-- if you did this against a dark background from a side view with white fibers, much closer up then we novices could see the actual details of what looks like a lovely method.
Thanks for the comments. The video was made as an add-on to an article in Fiber Femmes (fiberfemmes dot com) in January, and was never intended to stand alone; it's an illustration of something that was hard to describe. A new video, with explanations, is planned.
this video would be so much more helpful if you weren't going so fast, and if you explained what you are doing. it seems interesting, but i can't actually see any detail.
it kinda looks like a dance...

Looks impressive, but without a commentary I don't have a clue when to do what.

What a great idea! I would never have thought of weaving it up in my hand before winding onto the spindle.
I'm always having issues with it curling up on itself as I ply.
Thanks!

you need to explain what you are doing and do it slower. only a person who *already* knows what you are doing would get this video.
