graham you magnificent bastard i love your work. i watch your vids and time and time again your take trains wrecks of tree and turn them in beautiful works of art. keep up the good work.
Thanks for the information and inspiration. I'd about given up on making bonsai, but with your help I'm wiring up a storm and planning some collection trips. I've noticed abandoned farmsteads in my area - maybe something interesting there? Also our national forest allows some collecting. Can't wait for snowmelt. Thanks again, LG ps keep those videos coming!!
This is the third video I am commenting, and normally I don't post comments... but I am seeing some lovely trees! I am just not sure, ethically, about taking this trees from their natural enviroment, especially from someonelse's home (Italy). I am not saying it is wrong, but I do have some reservations about that.
@atzerath NEVER REPOT A RECENTLY STYLED TREE! This pine will stay in this pot for 3-5 years. It's not bonsai yet and putting it into a bonsai pot will severely hinder it's development.
I bought a Cupressus macrocarpa 'Goldcrest'...(bout 20cm tall) for a nurcery , i have no idea what to do with it ... Please help me i was think semi crascade...
Great before and after; shows what a big differance wiring makes. People go ohh and ahh and how does graham do it? Because they never wired their trees!
@topdeckdog - Good point! Great bonsai material can be 'collected' from abandoned nurseries, yards/gardens, areas being cleared for roads, housing, shopping malls - (all of which do much more damage to the future of the planet than collecting the occasiona tree from a wilder place).
If I was you I would get rid of the root to the left because the tree flows right except that root witch takes your eye of the main tree and kind of spoils the tree. But that is just the way I see it. Great tree thank you so much.
I dont have a bonsai class to go to and the videos are my school. Please keep up the good work and videos. Looking forward for the next one. I hope it comes soon.

As an ordinary Japanese, I means I have only poor knowledge about bonsai, I dare say it's not a bonsai.
I say this is a botanical art.

@Riccardo9245 We don't 'take' trees from anywhere. All of our material is sourced from horticultural professionals and private bonsai collections.

do you leave it in this bucket after such harsh work for it to recover or do you immediatly repot to a bonsai pot?
