I remember this series and rivalry perfectly. The Lakers and the Western Conf. were where it was at in the playoffs in the early 2000s. When the ball got tipped back and I saw Horry all alone I just felt so bad for Kings fans cuz I knew it was going in..

I remember this series and rivalry perfectly. The Lakers and the Western Conf. were where it was at in the playoffs in the early 2000s. When the ball got tipped back and I saw Horry all alone I just felt so bad for Kings fans cuz I knew it was going in..

Before Kings fans bitch about FTAs, they should look up the stats. The Kings actually shot more free throws than the Lakers in this series. (basketball-reference) In fact, in Gm 3, Kings shot 20 more FTs than Lakers. Now, I won't deny that there were some bad calls where Shaq was involved -- because there probably were and there always will be. But the series wasn't "fixed."

You cant guarantee a good shooting night even if you give a lopsided amount of free throws to a team that is for example shooting 50% from the charity stripe on the night.

Before this series I didn;t even notice the fixed game ever happened before(but actually it had), this series is just like a wake up call for me, at the time I already watched 10 yrs NBA, but from that moment I started to believe there are some fixed gs in pro basketball, not only baseball..it was just too OVER

@acecmopu17 you dont see the point, yes peja and other guys missed clutch shots, but if the officiating wasnt so rigged in the 4th, they wouldnt even be in that situation. there were a bunch of bs no calls the lakers got away with, and some of the worst foul calls ive ever seen on the kings. the refs were clearly trying to get the lakers back in the game, which they did, to set up a tight game that would send the tv ratings off the charts

im a kings fan but i cant blame the refs, nba refs are garbage to begin with. the kings were a near perfect team but were AWFUL at free throws when it counted, especially webber. kings might have won if it wasnt for that. and divac tried to keep the ball from horry, but why were all 5 kings in the key???
