Since when have Quirky and Eccentric been a bad thing?? the only reason you wouldnt wear these out of the house (barring the sound leakage) is if you have some form of identity crisis and you are trying to fit in/ be 'hip' and 'cool' But I'm a steampunk, so I may be a tad biased...
I have these headphones and they do sound amazing and look great but the sound leakage us terrible and i dont wear them out of the house for fear of annoying people on the bus etc.
Superlux 668b headphones will blow these grado's clean out of the water... and they only cost around £35 or $55 dollars delivered... google them, they are true giant killers
I've just bought these a few days ago. The first thing that striked me was the clarity of the sound : everything is so clean with these Grados, especially vocals. Well recorded vocals sounds like if they were next to me, in a very natural way. I love the way the highs sparkle too. This gives life to classical music. Now for the bass, these Grados deliver just the right amount and quality of bass for me. They are not spectacular on bass, but natural and accurate instead.
The sound from them is Fantastic!, but They are extremely uncomfortable! I found after wearing them for more than 20 minutes that My ears became very sore and took 10 minutes to stop aching! Also, they never stayed in place on my head, they either fell forward or backwards.
Saying that though, everyone is different so don't let Me put You off buying them, just make sure You try them on first.
@TheMassAnnoyance I found them uncomfortable at first too, couldnt wear them for any longer than 30mins or so - but they do break in nicely and become comfortable after using them for a short period of time.
MY problem with these headphones is their comfort. They just dont feel good on your head. Thats why i always choose sennheiser headphones instead because they offer better sound and much much more comfort.
Bahahah i dont know what this guy is talking about "neutral" sr60's are some of the most colored cans out there...bass is very low unless you vent them and put some work into them but these are amazing so no complaints on the sound! oh best for rock or metal trust me! head over to head-fi.org for real audiophile reviews!
@geertex these wont be any good for djing if thats what you mean, theyre open back design so no isolation for noisy enviroments or on a train/plane. shame as I think they look wicked, maybe they should make a closed back version for people who get out more than whathifi geeks

I ware this on the A Train in NYC every morning to work....the noise does leak so if i'm sitting next to people I turn it down. If i'm standing I dont care.
hi friends help me please i listen music on iMac 27 Echo audiofire 2 Firewire Yamaha Mixer Stanton Turntable St 150 Adam A5 Grado Heaphones sr 60 is good for my audio system? Grado is Good only iPod/iPhone? Help me Please!!!!!! Thanks
For UK customers, the Alessandro MS-1 headphones offer far better value for money. They come somewhere between the SR80 and SR125, but for $109 and that includes free international shipping. I bought my MS-1i headphones for around £65 (have to keep an eye on the exchange rate) and since then, my 60's have become redundant.
While its great Grados get some praise, still can't trust any of these 'official' reviews - far overhyped *especially* considering he reviewed it with a European price tag of £100 rather than (guessing) what, $80? Bang for buck goes down the drain. Plus, he said 'no colour whatsoever' or something similar, giving the impression of perfection.
End of pointless rant before I waste more time over nothing.
@Ghbose just so u know ive own two sr60s (broke the first pair, my fault) and they are the best headphones especially for the money. the sound is crystal clear with no exraneous vibration. i would put these up against any headphones under $90 delivered. and no i dont work for grado.
Brooklyn, NY. Some nice history on their site. They also make wooden-body phono cartridges, some expensive stuff. The 60 has been highly rated for awhile now for joggers, etc.
i dont understand how people say these are ugly....they are gorgeous.

You could easily switch the ear cushions and get better sound plus superior comfort.
