This is an amazing song for 1946. This was a full 10 years before Elvis Presley's first hit. Yet it has A LOT more in common with the rock era than the big band era.
Big Joe was much more than the "king" of "shout blues". I also consider him an early rock and roll pioneer.Songs like Corrine Corrina,Shake Rattle&Roll,Boogie Woogie Country Girl, were great songs by Joe,but enjoyed more popularity by the "cover" artists.
