@bartdude82 SF and Tekken are almost incomparable. SF has a linear gameplay style, with simple combos that don't vary much. There are different attack types, but not many. Tekken is more like a chess-style gameplay. It's far more punishing, and can be more difficult to learn how to use a character than SF. I wouldn't call one worse than the other, but it all depends on taste. If they weren't both good, there wouldn't be an SFxTekken right now.
@tahthedon I honestly would have to disagree since without juggles wouldn't it just be playing footsie like in SF4? :\ Just imo... but it's also really fun when you have the adrenaline just by thinking if one hit gets landed you might win or lose o.o
@DraculAlucard13 idk, i just like a good fight that lasts long, which is why i play super smash brothers, because there's no life bar. I wish they would make a fighting game that didnt have long combos, broken characters, and life bars that dont recover. they need to be like shooting games and allow players to recover when they catch their breath. in my opinion the best fighting game system is the one Def Jam Fight for NY had.
@chongfa209 any skilled player can tell you that no combo is unnavoidable. Trust me I have mastered a few characters comboes and yet there are people out there who still destroy me because they know how to dodge and defend.
The skill part is when you mirror your opponents backdashing so he or she does not get the sidestep angle against you. But backdashing itself only requires you to spam down and back a couple of times. it's not perticularly difficult. You only need to see it once. But i guess your right, and sry i called you noob.
i think that xiaoyu player is trying to be impressive. She uses RDS then AOP then u+3 then back to RDS then raccoon swing and back to the first move again. I think that's not the right way to use xiao. hihihi..
i hate how tekken have inported this juggle system people constantly do it, neva having a good fight thats why i left tekken 6 and move to super street fighter 4 takes a lot more skill :D

Haven't owned a Tekken since 3. Own 1 2 and 3 though. 4 just seemed shit, and since then hte focus on the environment in the fighting just detracts from the combat imo.

Tekken 6 shows what fighting games should be like.Throwing hadokens is like shooting guns at a handicap person not fronting or anything. The tekken combo system is balanced. The more you hit the opponent in a juggle the farther he/she goes back. 2D games can be good. But if you think Tekken 6 is like marvel vs capcom 2 your retarded because you havent even played it. SF4 doesnt care about the battle system only the fans. Though SF4 is a decent game from beginning but there's too many shoto chars
i would agree with this, tekken 6 dicks on SF4, its just got a lot more depth, and is much more fun for everyone to play. i of course have both, and i find that players who have played before just dominate at SF4 whilst people new to tekken 6 will at least have a laugh playing and not get their asses whooped!

You can't compare SF4 and T6.. They're too different. SF4 is a good game, but T6 is the game to choose if you want to go a bit deeper than the surface.
They are both good games, I never said they weren't. But I think SF4 was greatly dumbed down from the previous games (Street Fighter EX 2 Plus Alpha comes to mind) and, while still a good game, is nowhere as deep as Tekken 6.
Street Fighter EX was the worst Street Fighter of the series by popular opinion. SF4 was hardly dumbed down. But I said it before, there is no reason to compare two completely different games. I have no idea why people like to do this =/
Anyone ever notice that in T6, you can hit ppl while they're on the ground which opens a whole new world of combos (no matter how cheap). And in SF4, the longer your combos are, the less dmg they start to do, eventually to the point where you do 0 dmg per hit which prevents infinites from owning you... to each their own I say.
Street Fighter 4 may probably be one of the best fighting game to date with the Ultras, Supers, etc. It's only second to Tekken 6 though, these combos are insane -> Love it!

Wow, the person using Xiaoyu makes her moves look amazing! I just realized how cool Xiaoyu's martial arts are. She is really good for combos and the person that used her seemed very skilled, but Feng will always remain as my favorite character in the game.
God damn this game is broken... I wish Namco would go back to the Tekken Tag Tournament engine (where you don't die for guessing wrong at rock paper scissors). 2:07 - 2:18 is fucking ridiculous... Feng almost dies for 1) getting hit by an overhead kick and 2) rolling back... bs
Dude... TTT had TONS of tech traps, just that it took more skill than a 4 year old could muster to execute them. Don't get caught in a combo in the first place? In case you hadn't noticed, it's virtually impossible to not get caught in a combo at least once in a round. In the case of this match, 1 combo + backroll = death, retarded. Any top level match have seen the same radical turnarounds, hence the inconsistency in tourney top 3s. I like the original Tekken, my hope is to reawaken interest.
That's why players tend to set traps to get you caught in their combos. If you let yourself fall onto it, they got you. If you don't fell for it, you got them.
You just don't know xiaoyu that much. She has TONS of traps which makes up with her lack of power.
Have you ever played rock / paper / scissors before? That's how it works. Your opponent might go rock when scissors don't work anymore.
Any way, I'll leave it to the actual renowned pros of Tekken to do the talking... look for "Interview with Blood Red" on YouTube. He tells it like it is (coming from one of the top Lei players in North America)

You can't compare SF4 and T6.. They're too different. SF4 is a good game, but T6 is the game to choose if you want to go a bit deeper than the surface.

They are both good games, I never said they weren't. But I think SF4 was greatly dumbed down from the previous games (Street Fighter EX 2 Plus Alpha comes to mind) and, while still a good game, is nowhere as deep as Tekken 6.

Street Fighter EX was the worst Street Fighter of the series by popular opinion. SF4 was hardly dumbed down. But I said it before, there is no reason to compare two completely different games. I have no idea why people like to do this =/

Anyone ever notice that in T6, you can hit ppl while they're on the ground which opens a whole new world of combos (no matter how cheap). And in SF4, the longer your combos are, the less dmg they start to do, eventually to the point where you do 0 dmg per hit which prevents infinites from owning you... to each their own I say.

Street Fighter 4 may probably be one of the best fighting game to date with the Ultras, Supers, etc. It's only second to Tekken 6 though, these combos are insane -> Love it!

it's an auto block, you jsut have to stay there for high and press down for low. the rest is just juggle memorisation.

Wow, the person using Xiaoyu makes her moves look amazing! I just realized how cool Xiaoyu's martial arts are. She is really good for combos and the person that used her seemed very skilled, but Feng will always remain as my favorite character in the game.

Problem with 6 is bounding, not Rocks-Paper-Scissors combat. Tekken 5 was a solid Tekken game. Switching to Soul Calibur for the interim.

God damn this game is broken... I wish Namco would go back to the Tekken Tag Tournament engine (where you don't die for guessing wrong at rock paper scissors). 2:07 - 2:18 is fucking ridiculous... Feng almost dies for 1) getting hit by an overhead kick and 2) rolling back... bs

That's why they're called tech traps.
Why would you let yourself get caught in a combo in the first place?
That's why this game is about timing and a very good decision making.
If you don't like the game, then don't play it. Simple as that.

Dude... TTT had TONS of tech traps, just that it took more skill than a 4 year old could muster to execute them. Don't get caught in a combo in the first place? In case you hadn't noticed, it's virtually impossible to not get caught in a combo at least once in a round. In the case of this match, 1 combo + backroll = death, retarded. Any top level match have seen the same radical turnarounds, hence the inconsistency in tourney top 3s. I like the original Tekken, my hope is to reawaken interest.

That's why players tend to set traps to get you caught in their combos. If you let yourself fall onto it, they got you. If you don't fell for it, you got them.
You just don't know xiaoyu that much. She has TONS of traps which makes up with her lack of power.

Have you ever played rock / paper / scissors before? That's how it works. Your opponent might go rock when scissors don't work anymore.
Any way, I'll leave it to the actual renowned pros of Tekken to do the talking... look for "Interview with Blood Red" on YouTube. He tells it like it is (coming from one of the top Lei players in North America)
