warbandit0 - Rom is the name of the Magneto Infinite in this video. It is named after a Japanese player named 'Rom' and was discovered in late 2001. Search for 'Romneto Rom Tutorial' and you can see my hands performing the Rom using a joystick along with a picture in picture of the game.
fastest1321 - No. That is an overly simplistic and reductive way to look at this complex and technical combo. Try to do 12 Rom variations in one Rom, in a match. It will not be as easy as you think it will. It requires timing, spacing, precision, concentration, and more to perform this combo.
yerryman009 - I can do more than 12 variations also. It's more impressive to do 12 in a match, than 16 in training mode. Mr Kurow already recorded a video with more than 12 variations in training mode. Your initial post '2 E Z' was rude and pointless.
dragoxlaw - Practice, dedication, and determination are crucial when learning the Rom. The Rom is an Infinite first discovered in 2001 by a Japanese player named 'Rom'. There is some recorded footage somewhere of this mysterious player, but I don't have confirmation on that. I know on one of my CD-Rs I have a few matches of him. He is a legend.
tomotombo - I been on an epic search for matches of 'Rom'. I will not give up, but it may take a lot of time to track down these mysterious matches. I find it quite strange that there are so few matches of such an important player.
@BrettH123 thats interested about the Japanese player discovering the ROM. So many people credit American players for "solving" this game. I'd love to see this guy play.
SonofGenkai18 - It is true that mostly US players are known for monumental Marvel discoveries and victories. Japanese players have discovered some amazing things. Joo (the legendary technical Marvel wizard) is Japanese, and he has analyzed and dissected the game more than anyone.
After seeing you do ROM variations i tried doing them in my matches but often kept dropping my opponent im just gonna stick to (lk mk lk mp- lp lk mp variation) or just the regular lk ROM but its weird how when you start out learning the rom which hits bring your opponent higher and which ones bring em lower.
falconpierce - Those variations you wrote are quite useful. The second one is optimal for keeping the char close to the ground. I am working on new volumes to the Rom Tutorial series. Utilizing the Rom to raise or lower the opposing char height is crucial and takes a considerable amount of dedication and patience to master.
Wow that's just fucking crazy Bro, i have never seen that many variations in one combo before, great job my friend i really like this video, fucking awesome combo, excellent execution Bro...
i was about to ask you to make a video of the different kind of variation you can do with magneto. Thanks a lot! Are you able to make all these variations away from the corner?
irving1002 - I am happy you like this video. There are a LOT more Rom variations than are shown in this video. I am working on a project now to show this clearly. The Rom has the most number of variations of any Infinite in MvC2.

I can't even do one rep of the infinite.
I have no prob getting it started, but keeping it going is impossible for me.
For the record, I do the basic infinite variation (LK>MK...AD down+LK>MK).
Also, why is it called the Rom? Just wondering.

irving1002 - Yes, all of these variations work midscreen. All Rom variations (that I can think of) work midscreen and corner.
