  • This song must have blown people's mind back in 1955. Chuck Berry really put Rock & Roll on the map!

  • what school did u find that califone phono ?

  • great 78 of chuck berry.i got some of his on 78,including one from 1959;'sweet little rock and roller'/'jo jo gunne'.hold on to that 78 you got,i haven't got 78 yet and it's hard to find.thanks for posting this rock and roll classic.

  • His first recorded song!!!

  • GREAT!

  • That record has been seriouilsy pressed off-center.

  • Nice. What's the 1450 K? Is that Kilohertz?

  • Really rockin' original ~ yeah !!

  • A #1 R&B hit for Chuck Berry. This was the second R&B song to hit #1 in the Rock Era.

  • That is a wicked cool record player, how old is that thing?

  • That looks just like those blue record players they used to have in my school way back then.

  • What does the 'b/w' in info mean? I seem to have forgotten...

  • b/w is short for "backed with"

  • Amazing. They just don't make music like this anymore. :(

  • @rangerzep83

sorry man, but i have to challenge you on this. i can't stand people saying it.

in what sense do they not make music like this anymore?

  • @EddieTLawson Because 90 percent of popular music in no way involves actual instruments, for one. Most popular music involves preprogrammed beats or music stolen from older songs. I will concede that there is still music being made, but it is not the widely popular variety. Fifty years from now, most rappers and singers such as Justin Beiber will have gone the way of Leif Garrett and other flash in the pan artists. But people will still remember and revere artists like Chuck Berry.

  • @rangerzep83 who said anything about pop? you said music.

and i think music is only going forward. we don't have the restrictions imposed such as the fact that you had to get heard to be famous. now you do it for yourself. i think a lot of music being made now is better simply because of it's diversity. because how else may we define music as "good"?

  • @EddieTLawson And i cant stand people saying dumb things like you. What how does he means that people dont make such music anymore?? Is that hard because they dont music is going forward?? are you on drugs or something todays music sucks ass alot and alot cant call it music its only computer work music whas good till the beginning of the 1990 after that it got lame and now its the lamest as it can be, my name is also eddy but glad that anyone has got his own opinion, dont agree at all.

  • @TimeMachine1984

Since when does the fact that it's on a computer have anything to do with it? And "Today's music sucks ass alot" Real intelligent comment there my friend. i'm trying to bat home the principal that music is all opinion and just because you don't like it doesn't make it bad music. it's an opinion.

  • @EddieTLawson sincen when?? since always do you call computer worked music craftmanship? intstruments are played for the bands by computers so since then. Also such as that retarded autotune voice etc etc, thats no music thats garbage. That i said that todays music sucks, has nothing to do with intelligents, if im stupid for that comment your about as much stupid for your comment earlier.

Yes i agreet its an opinion but in my opinion it suckes so thats why i made that comment.

  • @EddieTLawson btw i also like synthesizer music, thatts also an electrikal instrument, but i refer to that as a real instrument, i alos have old trance, house, etc musi records and i do like that also, maybe that has some computer work, but it stil whas craftmenship, on the otherhand if you talk about djs themselves i sure agree thats craftmanschip,

  • @rangerzep83 your right, if he doesnt get what you mean that old music whas better he must be really living under a rock or something.

  • 10 dollars!!! now this is worth times 100 dollars!!! what serial number is it!!!

  • Oh, it's an American pressing. I think it came out on (British) Colombia in the UK.

  • Hey, is that a 5-speed player?

I know Califone made 3-speeds with 33-1/3, 16-2/3 and 8-1/3 (for "talking books" for the blind, back in the pre-MP3 days), and 4-speeds (16-2/3, 33-1/3, 45, 78.26) for classroom use, but I've never seen one with all 5. Or is one of those a neutral position?

  • Holy Shit. You have the 78 record!!!!!!

  • I have this on the 45

  • Wow, that record looks very rare and nice Califone player too.

  • Chuck Berry 78's are getting kinda pricey now. There were a bazillion "Maybellene"

78's pressed and its really hard to find one in clean condition. Find "Johnny B. Goode" on a 78 and you've got some money!

  • I Recently Saw This Record On Ebay In G+ Condition And It Went For $100,So It Is A Rare Gem From A Great Era In Popular Music.

  • OMG, my husband bought this record from you...and just gave it to me for my 40th birthday!! THANK YOU!!!

  • No way, the record in the video. That's great!

  • Lucky...

  • GREAT!! What a treasure!!! :)

  • I have a mint Canadian copy on Quality. Great song to have on 78!

  • wow! an original chess record

  • I bought this from a guy in Cleveland, OH. It was hanging on the wall of his Record Shop, and I asked him if it was for sale. I got it for 10 dollars.
