  • I went through Kinglake area 2 days ago (4th Oct) and even before I reached the bushfire affected areas I could notice a strong burnt smell. This is 8 months after the fire.

  • What time was this taken, cause I remember when I was heading to traralgon from my place (I live on the hills that aren't burnt), it wasn't quite that big, but it was really dark, and spreading across the hills.

  • I dont really remember but i think it was taken like between lunch and like 4pm

  • Yer that is a really sensible comment you

    Perhot' podzalupnaya

  • fkghi. you better be joking mate or you are a real tosser. fancy saying things like that on this video...its just stupid.

  • Interesting thing about summer in Victoria 2008/2009, it was below average temperatures for the 3 months of summer, only 10 days over 35 and 5 days over 40.

Out of 3 months it's been a short but hot summer, don't believe the hype about man made climate change, there is more and more evidence the eco freaks are using disasters as an excuse to push there cause and to exstract our hard earned money out of us.

  • I AGREE 110%

  • fkghi ....have I upset you?

And one more thing....Mohammad well he had thing for little people!

  • fkghi ......Allah ate pig meat!

  • Excuse you? I dont think you and that other guy should argue anymore on my video, fair enough you have a dispute, but could you take it up somewhere else please.

  • Bad Muslim... no virgin for you

  • Why don't you get out of Australia if it is so bad, and go and practice you 12th century bullshit religion somewhere else. We don't need you. Peace Muslims are welcome. Fuckwit Islamists like you aren't.

  • Grredy exremist Greenies have destroyed Victoria with their lunatic policies.

Hang your heads in shame loony Greenies.

AUSTRALIA WILL NOT FORGET THE DAMAGE THE GREENIE POLICIES HAVE DONE TO VICTORIA.

    SHAME LABOR !

    SHAME GREENIES!

  • honeyjen11.....completely agree with you

They better prepare for some real angry people......and some government depts are to blame as well....CFA and Dept of Sustainability.

    Notice how there gone silent!

  • That fire is really fast approaching! It's horrible to think of the many people who tried to get away and couldn't! I read about an elderly couple whose 53-year-old disabled son lived with them. They tried to get him and evacuate as quickly as possible, but they weren't able to.

  • Devastating to hear about that, many people have perished in there fires, but it's he physically challenged that have it hard when they are trying to evacuate.

  • There are very upset people over these fires there will be retribution for some not for the dead. I hope the ghost of them send him bananas if he has a soul at all.

  • settle up there mate. Why slag off at Muslims for this? THey didn't light it. Don't bring your racist remarks to a bushfire video, they aren't welcome.

  • you have all rights to make it copyrighted, why would someone complain about that? its ur video. some people...sheesh :p

  • Buddy, why don't you piss off out of Australia if you hate it so much. You're comments left on the bush fires videos clearly show you have a grudge against Aussies, so why are you here?

  • Why say that video shit is copyright

  • The people responsible should be publicly burned at the steak. Die just the way all these model citizens & children did. No wone will ever do this again

  • Bring back the death sentence for the bastards that lit these

  • I'd like to do more than hang the filthy muzz by his scrot, he won't last long inside - they will shank him before the weeks out....i guess nixon would be the only one to cry for him.

  • PAINTBALLER7876-those he killed maybe yet 250-300 lives.

the man is already in protective custody

pity those who didn't receive the protection.

    EYE FOR AN EYE-JUSTICE

  • As this disaster continues to devastate I just wanted to again pass on Our profound sympathy and Support to Our Friend Australia from the U.K

You are Still very much in Our thoughts and Prayers

  • The Greens pushed for hefty fines to be handed out to anyone who dared back burn or by any means make a safety clearance around the property. The Bob Browns of the world are more interested in saving some gum leaves than saving Human life. This is now True Fact.

  • thanks for posting this vid up. This is the fire that came roaring across the hills towards us, so it's interesting to get some perspective on how it looked from your side.. coz it was damn scary from our side too!!

  • Its too late now but next time the government should be prepared ready to evacuate anyone with black hawk helicopters in the line of fire. This was a foreseen event and yet the government made no provisions for evacuations. We send troops and helicopters to war to defend our nation and yet we dont do the same to protect our citizens.

God bless Australia and the real heroes the cfa and all emergency crews.

The government stood by and did nothing.

  • do you have any idea how many helicopters they would need? they all need a place to land. and they cost a fortune. the government should have prepared better, but not with a bunch of helicopters.

  • well, the next years you will probably be save from fire in these regions where it burnt this year, now you should use the time to build shelters/bunkers and to build huge swathes around every citiy and settlement to prevent such a disaster may recure in future

  • forest fires are a part of nature, the best solution i can think of is fireproof building materials, and also underground fireproof shelters like a cellar

  • Cellars are the best choice when it comes to a refuge i think, they should make it bomb proof, flood proof, fire proof, tornado proof, ect.

  • yep, and why dont we have them already? every town in australia should have bomb shelters not only in the case of war, but for natural disasters.

  • one of the most dangerous forrests i have ever ridden in alot of this forrest has no access thanks to dse closing tracks down and majority has not been burned for decades thanks to the greenies. harsh but it is the reality of victorian forrests

  • Bob Brown and his green party are no better then those rat bag arsonist bastards.

  • consider that these fires were so bad because of the long term effects of 12 years of drought, and record heat, ie becuase of global warming, im not sure how you can blame bob brown. if it is because of the tardiness of back burning and bush control burning, then get your facts straight ... but that is another story.

  • this near the university? is the uni safe?

  • Any wildlife carers that want to help give Victoria Wildlife a call on 1300 94535. Humans are a resourceful lot and will cope somehow but the animals need a helping hand and many are still out there suffering. To all those clowns that continue to post about how we deserved it. look at it this way, build a house in a swamp and it will flood, build a house in the bush, prepare to fight for it in a fire. Most of you knockers live with ya mums so have nothing to loose anyway so you don't matter.

  • I bet arsonists are neo-Nazis who waged the shameful Cronulla Riot.

  • good vid production ingiequeen. was in canberra fires few years ago- got hit by car was so smokey

  • mate id be saying, this is the time i get the f**k out of there

  • Dw, it does look pretty friggin scary, and i would have gotten out if i needed to, but at that moment, there was no iminent danger, the firies in the area would have made an alert for evac if needed.

  • This has really moved me..I was walking and thinking of an old song from my school days.."Burn Baby Burn, Disco Inferno..etc"

  • thanks for sharing that footage

  • yer good luk to all u Victorians, i live in NSW but we nearly had to evac because of the Mt kuring-gai bush fires, but that was nuthin compared to this, they say the energy output was 600-700 times the size of the hirshima bomb

  • I live in Morwell up on the hill and watched that happen from my front yard with concern as I am a ex fire fighter(cep/nre summer crew). After a perfectly calm blue morning within a hour the strong hot wind passed by us I found that even my letterbox had hot ashes inside it.

  • You should have seen it here in Moe on Saturday... It felt like it was 10pm at 6pm with the smoke...

I really do feel for all that has been lost, and boy if i find the person that did this, i would be handing him over to the police badly busted.

  • yeh i can se it too i wonder what the hell it is ?? its heaps fast

  • my guess would be a airplane there was over 30 of them fightin the fires ...

  • my deepest sympothy goes out to you all in victoria i hope the best to you all. from NSW

  • If someone could view this frame by frame could that have a look at .20 black thing above helicopter and again at 1.38 to the left of the smoke, a circular slivery white thing appears and disappears.

I'd be interested in your thoughts.

  • And if the goverment cleans up all the forests how do you expect to breathe dickhead, or don't you know any science.

  • I surely hope you're joking right there.

  • What are those beams that streak down on the white car and then the red car.

  • I reckon it is the glare of the sun on each car

  • @ Advicedog - nevertheless, it's not a nice thing to say. NO ONE deserves to have their house burnt down - just remember, that if you've been wronged, that person will get their just rewards times three in all due time. I know, it's happened to several of my exes

  • could luck hope you re all doing well in australia

  • I bet arsonist is the eco-terrorist Paul Watson.

  • l saw these fires from morwell on saturday afternoon near the KFC. My car had broken down, on the way from melbourne and the sight of thoses fires was scary

  • hey we forgive you for your swearing i would be sayuing more then shit!

  • i live around 30km away from the churchill fires and thank god we only got a bit of ash and a few burnt leaves, tons of smoke inside and outside out house, and black rain.

2 of my friends lost their lives and 5 people lost their houses.

ON THIS FRIDAY THE 13TH OF FEB, COLES SUPERMARKETS ARE GIVING ALL THE PROCEDES OF THE DAY DIRECTLY TO THE BUSHFIRE APPEAL.

  • 2 of your friends have died????? OMG i am soo sorry to hear that, why did someone mark your message as spam?

  • who was the 2 friends?

  • OK, but who are you responding to?

  • I was responding to AdviceDog. How are things out that area today?

  • The incendiary must be Paul Watson

  • I just saw this on CNN~ I hope no more lives are lost! So tragic~ May God keep you all safe~

    Peace Friend,

    Trish

  • Did you see this actual video footage that i took here? Or did you just see a report on the fires?

  • I saw THIS video on CNN.

  • Did you see this actual video footage that i took here? Or did you just see a report on the fires?

  • its really cold where i am. i live in a freezer in the back yard

  • dickhead....people are losing their lives, homes etc...

  • Mum, sisters and their families in Churchill, plus my cousins, hope you all keep safe..and I'm worried about the cold here in England...

  • Get out of there.

If I were in your position I would flee before the fire came closer!

  • It isnt coming towards us thank goodness, so there is no need to evacuate.

  • I hope all goes with you and your family and everyone there

God help all of you there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Everyone is in shock! My heart with you and all others who are in fire!

  • This is terrible =(

I'm in NSW but yesterday it reached 47 degrees Celsius here and NSW was labelled the 'hottest place on earth' on Sunday. It's nothing compared to these fires though. It's actually fairly cold and raining right now, which is good. I hope it is in Vic too.

    Good luck Victoria!

  • thankyou

  • good to hear that you are ok. but still so sad about all the lives lost :(

  • stay safe.

look out for others and ignore stupid comments.

    thank you for posting this

  • fuk i wish i could help. Very upsetting

  • Fully agree

  • sorry, i was referring to "misflooz" obscene comments below.

  • Oh, ok, sorry about that.

  • forgot your medication?

  • lucky you're safe!

hope those fires go out soon :(

  • I just read on the BBC site, 108 dead now. And to think it is snowing here and we all moan in England. I wish you all the very best and people are thinking of you even on the other side of the world.

  • yeah cheers dude, i live near the victorian fires, near churchill, and like, at night the sky was just bright orange from the glow of the fire... Then the soot all rolled in, but thank god it didn't come to our town. Also, to think, down in vic we dont have enough water to fight fires, and yet in the northern side, it's flooding... Utterly bull shit.

  • It's terrible mate. I was watching the news last night and it showed a clip of your Prime Minister and it's not often you see someone in a position like that visibly upset. Was just having a quick look on google maps at the areas affected here, to have it in 3 states must be awful because Australia is such a huge country. The snow and cold here can be bad but it doesn't have anywhere near the impact as the fires there, you can see how much people have lost on the news clips through their tears.

  • Ignore him, he's just flame bait - and notorious for it. One of those sad people who gets the attention they were never given as a child through being blatantly offensive, ignorant and racist. Best to not give him the satisfaction of turning the comments away from the tragedy itself.

    shame on you.

  • Yer i was kinda confused about that.

  • Comment removed

  • Scary shit. Are you okay?

  • Yep, thanks for asking, the fires have passed we got alot of smoke and ash though, i got some in my eye! lol

WE were alot luckier than the people up near marysville and kinglake, apparently over 50 people have died and over 1000 homes have been destroyed.

  • Yeah, that really sucks all of those poor people and their families. It's just terrible. It does make you wonder though, why people insist on living in the bush when there's the danger of fires.

I've actually been pretty close to a bush fire (about 6 metres, sitting in the car on the side of the road) and watched it sore up out of the trees and it was scary. I told my uncle (who was driving) to turn around and go back the way we came and he called me a wimp lol. :)

  • WOW he called you a wimp? That is weird.

  • Thanks, it's ok, it didnt come any where near us thank goodness, it is practically burnt out now, we just got alot of smoke and dust and some ash last night it was very dark, no embers. Thanks though

  • poor you i had it bad last weekend with the delburn complex fires.

  • that sucks.... hope the front missed you!

  • Oh dear i feel so sorry for u

  • which suburb are you in?

  • CHURCHILL......... O_O

  • Dang, that was on fire wasn't it? I was in Lilydale luckily, The sky was just black in the distance.

  • Good luck best thing to do if keep spraying your house with cold water and all around the outside of your house and that should keep the fire away intill fire services can help out.

  • no the best thing to do is leave

  • depending on how close it wil get if the estate put the cold water on all the tree's and put the sprinklers on then it should help die down the fire and with the emergency services help the fire should stop

  • thanks captain obvious

  • lucky thing is you get a decent summer in the U.K our summers have been crap for the last 2 years but on the other hand we've just had 8 inches of snow so thats showing a sign that our summer is going to be warm here in Cornwall U.K

  • So did you get anymore video? Keen to see an update. Hope your family is ok and everyone else for that matter

  • Thanks, yes i got an other ideo of it, i will upload it shortly

  • it is cray when you are 2-3km away which is about 2mile when the flames are about 10m high 30foot

  • wow that owns my bushfire video. mine was bigger but because i was so close i had to wait till it calmed down to film. i still think your was bigger than when mine was at its max point. about 6 years back we had a fire behind out house and in my video all that bush you see near my fence was gone but its slowly coming back. it was huge. the fire department was like stay in your home but people were like hell no i wanna watch mate. it was massive. like literally 20m home my bloody house. nice vid

  • Yer, it is ALOT and i mean ALOT worse now, looking out from my bedroom window it looks like hell.

I will be uploading another video as an update soon

    Peace out \/

  • wish you the best

  • Thanks, it was 45c today (about 115f)

  • wow here in LA it's raining

  • Yep, well as you can see all the plants/grass is sooooo dry, the heat is so annoying.

  • just drink alot of water lol

i drink like 8 bottles when its barely 90 degrees F

how are your fish and dogs doing?

  • They are fine at the moment. thanks

  • It reached 47.8C here on Saturday. Thats 118.04F.
