Great series of vids man. I knew this was my problem when my AMP was shutting off on me. Now it goes right into Protection mode, I guess I've got to go get a new Alternator.
Really helpful video's. Please Reply to this question! How long does a mosfet have to be abused like that before it gets damaged? I just got a T1500-1bdcp and ive had it for about 2 weeks and its probably seen like total 5 minutes of running at 10 volts.. Are they fried? God I hope not..
Hey romi1rome I just installed a new audi system in my car and after I did that I watched your movie, and Ive checked the voltage on my batteri which was between 5-10 V which is terrible but I havent used my audio system for long only like 1-2 hours of medium playing, but also a bit very high volume so the lights dimmed for a while which is no good wondering if the amplifier is permenantly lowered the power of it? Please help desperate!!
I will accurately gage my system and delivery proper energy to such means !!!
lol .... cool videos man, I feel more knowledgeable about whats going on behind the scenes with my audio system and the information you provided will definitely help me along on my DIY path !
this is good stuff. i watched ur other videos which lead me to open my defected amp and find the bad transistors and replace them. now im gonna work on a performance alternator and battery because ur other videos definately explain how everything affects the next component in the system.
so at what voltage do the transistors begin to get damaged? is it the same for all brands. and any time the voltage is above 12 wether the car is on or not while the bass is playing is not bad?
hey i have a kenwood kac-x501f with a low voltage light. i am using it to power a 10'' infinity kappa perfect. my battery wasnt holding a charge so i replaced it but i am still getting a low voltage problem. do you know what the problem could be?
Many subwoofers are able to produce frequencies in the human voice range. In order to limit these frequencies from entering the subwoofer, you will need a device called a "low-pass" crossover. The amp you listed has one built into it. Check you manual to see how to activate it.
why is there vocals coming out my subs is it the head unit or the amp which is a lighting audio b4 250.2 oh the head is a kenwood but it dont have subwoofer controls
This is awesome. I knew that low voltage was bad for the mosfets, but didn't know why. Your channel is a HUGE asset for newbies to car audio, and audio in general.
how can i volt meeter a transistor to see if its still with in specs?
