@rosielou2 if you're talking about the little diagrams in the bottom-right, baisically the line on the very left is the low E, and the one on the very right is the high E. you should know, but if not, the strings go E-A-D-G-B-E, from left to right. everywhere there is a dot is where you put your fingers, and a solid line means bar the whole thing. above the diagrams, an O means open strum and an X means either don't play that string or mute that one.

@kunoichi4679 It's the strum pattern; D=down, U=up; "D, DU" means strum once down, pause for a tiny bit, then strum down quickly followed by up.

Light (down strum, quick pause) of the (down strum quickly followed by up), world (down strum, quick pause) you stepped (down, quickly followed by up) down (down strum, quick pause), into (down, followed by up), darkness (down, quick pause, down up)

For the most part, that's going to be the strumming pattern.
