This could never happen. First of all, Disney World provides a big percentage of Florida's tourism. If it closed, Orlando would become another Detroit, and Florida's economy would take a MASSIVE hit. Can't have that. Second, if Disney ran into financial difficulties and couldn't keep it open, another company would take control of the park. There's just way too much on the table. Money, history, happiness, dreams, etc., so this just couldn't happen.

There ALREADY is a part of Disney abandoned. Does ANYONE remember Discovery Island(I think that's the name)? It was once a new attraction and now it is forgotten. Someone took a video of them on the island. Everything is still there but broken/old and all the lights are still on. I've never seen/been on Discovery Island because I don't even think it was build when I was born but I know about it and it is amazing if you think that we will soon forget about some parts of the Disney Parks forever.

@TheCrazyCoasterKid discovery island closed for several reason, one was size, it is very small, and animal kingdom was being planned. same for river country, very small and was getting old and very expensive to maintain such a small place with typhoon lagoon and blizzard beach open. remember both these were built in the beginning and were some of the first things open, and a LOT less guests went to WDW. discovery island was being used research & as a sanctuary a few years ago.

Dude, give these places 20 years without constant round the clock attention like it has now. It will become like this, very fast and very quickly. Sure, the buildings will last longer but they'll fall apart and into disrepair given 20-40 years.

The town outside of Chernobyl has been abandoned for over 20 years, and it looks in much worse shape. Buildings wear down quickly without repair.

Explode, no. Unless there was some kind of electrical fire, if the electricity was still on, it found something highly flammable, and the damage in the pic was from fire, and not explosion.
