I'm guessing that since she didn't get revenge by killing Claudia, she still got a small piece of revenge by killing Douglas and because this whole ordeal has affected her so much, she has turned much darker and perhaps a little insane.

I know a glitch that kills the god without losing health! I will make a video if I get 10 comments on my channel. Also, it helped me get a 10 star Hard-Hard run on my FIRST playthrough!!
That's obviously bogus since 10 star run isn't possible until the third play through. When the game is completed for the first time, the "times cleared" score at the results screen is one out of five which means that it's possible to get only 96 stars out of total 100, meaning that the best possible rating is only 9.6 stars.

But i gusse this sorta applies to all the silent hill games. Because each time we revist silent hill the monsters have changed to make the protagnists own personal nightmare. I dont think it earsed everything but perhaps this was another one of Heathers demonic delusions. It said That Harry changed Cheryls name to Heather and dyed her hair blonde to escape the cult. But if he died when she was 7 that would of been impossible. Kauffman explained in Shattered Memories that out of her grief she made a farther who wasnt real...
Has anyone noticed that in the normal ending silent hill has just gone back to normal and everythings back to the way it should be. while as in this ending everythings still rusty and the grate flooring is still there that means Heather is still in the other world so buy killing Douglas perhaps shes now being held here by her sins like Claudia and Vincent and every other charecter in Silent Hill? just a little theroy of mine

@lzoli18B I can't explain it either but I think it has something to do with that in this ending through out the whole game she killed almost all the monsters and silent hill driving her insane let her down to being insane and a cold blooded killer so she only killed douglas because she maybe seen him as a monster or she felt like she has to continue to kill everything unlike in the good ending where she made it a joke just to scare douglas and it wasn't a joke in this ending...
@lzoli18B Plus she probably blamed it all on Douglas because he is guilty that she had to go through all those places instead of skiping it and returning home if it wasn't for him she would have been home and in the "sane" state instead of going crazy and killing monsters so she felt the grudge on Douglas and had to kill him for him being responsible for her father's death

@MissFancyEyes SH2 / 3 and 4 are all ps2 games. i don't own a ps3 myself, but i believe the thing will run ps2 games. It's different from the movie in that it has a different storyline, characters, motifs, etc. and yeah, it's worth a try. They're very popular horror games

@MrHakuro93 probably because she's still in the "otherworld" even after killing a major enemy. After killing a major enemy you get sent back to the normal world. Maybe Alessa was still haunting heather, so she stayed in the "otherworld"? who knows
@xDarkside101x Alessa is Heather, thus both of'em share the same soul.The Alternative World was created by the "god" inside Heather and as long as Claudia knows how to control the monsters, she couldn't stop her.Maybe, it was Claudia who was haunting Heather.
Cool ending, but not canon. Since Homecoming did make the good/normal ending canon by saying in an article (found late in the game, I believe The Lair) Douglas explosed the Cult.
@nina020893 You must complete the game at least once and start the Extra New Game. Then earn 4000 points to reach this ending. Killing a monster gives you 10 points. Taking hits earns you 5. Forgiving the woman in the Confession Room gives you 1000 points.
i think she killed douglas cause after all that bullshit she had 2 deal wit (the monsters, blood and gore and violence, her dead dad, vincent and claudia, the whole story behind this) she finally just lost it
i hate multiple endings in games. you dont know what your going to get... if you get the bad endings; you re pretty much goin to get haunted by that ending for good so far.
I think the team intended to use "Possessed" Ending as a title but in fact she wasn't. A spur of the moment decision since it fits the mood. I was thinking... After the boss battle and lament over her late father, she felt a sudden grudge on douglas. Blaming it ALL on him and killed him since it's the last thing she could ever do.
OT: She's also not the suicidal type but I'm not sure. It seems like she's hiding a slit on her left wrist with a band and watch or maybe that's just her thing.
dont forget she still has metatrons talisman - i think it influences this possession also (because who serves to Metatron? Red pyramid thing...) it is possible, that Heather sees doug as a monster...but also doug felt guilty because of his sons death...guilty=ph...im not saying that Heather is PH...but i think after this ending, she could be able to controll them...(i mean PHs)

another diference at this and the normal ending are in the ambient! in normal the amusement park are "normal", and in this looks like in nightmare mode O_O
I think it's actually meant to be the town that's possessed cos it's still all dark and rusty like the Otherworld where as in the normal ending everything looks all normal
Actually, you can't get this in your first playthru, the game refuses to let you get a bad ending, it auto gives ya the good, you need to replay to get the other endings.
Not really, he became attached to her since he saw his dead son in her. He was caring after her in second half of the game. Douglas just couldn't shoot her.
How did one get the possessed ending anyway? Not that I would've wanted it myself - too depressing to think that Heather would have gone through all that just for Claudia/The Order to win in the end - just curious.
I think the only people i liked in any of the silent hill games are.. Harry Mason, Lisa (whatever her last name is) Cheryl, Douglas, Kaufmaan James and Danny.
I think Heather kills Douglas because it was his fault that Claudia found her. If it weren't for Douglas, Harry, Heather's father, would still be alive.
Actually, unless I am missing something, it never actually shows Heather killing him, just her seeing his dead body, it is quite possible that he was already dead.
@Cena60793 Yeah, but she didn't, Claudia found them because of Douglas. A reasonable person would have thought as you do, but after killing almost every monster in the game (needed for this ending), I don't think Heather is being very reasonable at all, hehehe.

I think it's just Silent Hill's influence that has possessed her. Vincent did mention that Heather sees monsters, but hints that they may not really be monsters at all. So after all that killing, Silent Hill's influence continues to control her mind through her anger and she saw Douglas as a monster instead of the human he was.
True. Also--if you go back to where James kills the first monster in Silent Hill 2 you see that the area is wrapped up in police tape....what was James hitting?
@Nicoga And then stand meaningfully over him unlike any other monster she ever killed? Doesn't seem like she thought he was a monster. Also what Vincent says is more an indication of his twisted thinking. He never implied they were human in what he said. He only questioned that she saw them like that. Douglas/Heather saw them as monsters. With how messed up Vincent was why wouldn't he see monsters other than he doesn't classify them as such. He was a cult member after all.
@iovandrake-but at least he wanted Claudia dead too. I gave him a little credit for that! But he may have only wanted her dead for his own selfish reasons, too, though.
This is the only game in the series with only 2 endings. This end does seem more appropriate with the tone-but not really an ending I'd want. Infact,I think it could've just ended with her looking back-would've been effective as well. But I do like the actual ending-It ends with the proper-lighter note.
3 endings, you forgot the ufo one. Although this one only barely counts. Nothing happened! Why did she kill Douglas anyways? What purpose does that serve? What is that supposed to mean?

i hate multiple endings in games. you dont know what your going to get... if you get the bad endings; you re pretty much goin to get haunted by that ending for good so far.

I think the team intended to use "Possessed" Ending as a title but in fact she wasn't. A spur of the moment decision since it fits the mood. I was thinking... After the boss battle and lament over her late father, she felt a sudden grudge on douglas. Blaming it ALL on him and killed him since it's the last thing she could ever do.
OT: She's also not the suicidal type but I'm not sure. It seems like she's hiding a slit on her left wrist with a band and watch or maybe that's just her thing.

dont forget she still has metatrons talisman - i think it influences this possession also (because who serves to Metatron? Red pyramid thing...) it is possible, that Heather sees doug as a monster...but also doug felt guilty because of his sons death...guilty=ph...im not saying that Heather is PH...but i think after this ending, she could be able to controll them...(i mean PHs)

Actually, you can't get this in your first playthru, the game refuses to let you get a bad ending, it auto gives ya the good, you need to replay to get the other endings.

Not really, he became attached to her since he saw his dead son in her. He was caring after her in second half of the game. Douglas just couldn't shoot her.

I think Heather kills Douglas because it was his fault that Claudia found her. If it weren't for Douglas, Harry, Heather's father, would still be alive.

@Cena60793 Yeah, but she didn't, Claudia found them because of Douglas. A reasonable person would have thought as you do, but after killing almost every monster in the game (needed for this ending), I don't think Heather is being very reasonable at all, hehehe.

I think it's just Silent Hill's influence that has possessed her. Vincent did mention that Heather sees monsters, but hints that they may not really be monsters at all. So after all that killing, Silent Hill's influence continues to control her mind through her anger and she saw Douglas as a monster instead of the human he was.
And thus saw fit to give him a stabbity death. :P

Also what Vincent says is more an indication of his twisted thinking. He never implied they were human in what he said. He only questioned that she saw them like that. Douglas/Heather saw them as monsters. With how messed up Vincent was why wouldn't he see monsters other than he doesn't classify them as such. He was a cult member after all.

This is the only game in the series with only 2 endings. This end does seem more appropriate with the tone-but not really an ending I'd want. Infact,I think it could've just ended with her looking back-would've been effective as well. But I do like the actual ending-It ends with the proper-lighter note.
