Brad has an Anger Problem-which most Anger issues stem from needing or wanting to control the Situation/Dog which in turn is very Arrogant!! I trained my dog myself,she's not perfect nor am I! My dog is a well behaved Dog and You need to stay consistent with Training every day for the dog's whole Life! Suggestion=Teach your Dog the word "STOP"=don't move from the spot= in an emergency =Your Dog won't be distracted by any thing!! If you call the dog by name=Dog doesn't know what to do!=Safer!

6 weeks training to become a dog trainer!!!! I wouldn't let someone handle my dogs with only 6 wks experience! This Brad Pattison guy is a joke and out to make as much money as possible and from what I have seen his methods are abusive and dated! If any trainer hit my dog well I won't put on youtube what I would do to them! Victora Stilwell is by far the smartest and best dog trainer I have seen on television and her methods work without scaring the life out of the dog like Brad Pattison!!!

Lots of people go to college and university to become big business leaders. They even take expensive management training courses.......but lo and behold, they SUCK as managers!

Credentials and qualifications mean nothing. Only those who buck trends and defy the norm manage to excel at their craft. Brad Pattison is just another LOSER who fails miserably at dog training.

Cesar Millan, on the other hand, is gifted with a balanced and precise approach to dog training.

Max C, I agree with you. This (Brad) person's methods suck! Cesar and Victoria rule! Much kinder methods, with better results. He is baulchy, mouthy, aggressive. Wonder what Cesar and Vicky would say? Give me reward based training or exercise, discipline, affection anyday! Brad dude, may the dogs of America, etc get Cesar or Vicky to rehab them (and their owners). Let's c, celeb dog training death match. Would Vicky kick Brad's a....e? There are as many ways to raise a dog as there are to raise a child! One size fits all doesn't apply, so there's no way for Brad to please everyone.

Brad's concern and love for animals is obvious - so much so, he will often ride roughshod over the emotions and sensibilities of the owners to ensure they realize they're the source of the problems they're now asking him to help with.

Need help but want something "softer". Check out Victoria Stilwell - she's less of a disciplinarian.

Brad can stfu and stop lying to the audience. Like Millan he relies on well rehearsed lies to persuade us of the correctness of his methods.

Frankly when this guy makes the blanket claim that treats makes dogs aggressive, it is obvious he is only interested in selling his methods and not telling the truth.

Pattison show a real dislike for animals and mistreats them in a way that we don't even see from Millan. he punches them in the face, knees the on the chest, hangs them... it sheer cruelty

If someone came in to my home to help me with my child's bad behavior, and the first thing they did was grab my kid by the neck and drag them across the room screaming in his face I'd call the police. This is not a way to raise a dog, or a child. Open your eyes to your own metaphor - would you let this guy do anything he's done to dogs with your kids?

Search for the episode of the one show where a family calls him because their dog is dog aggressive, and the first thing he does is tell them to let their dog offleash in the backyard, then comes in with his dog. The family's dog instantly attacks his dog so he picks it up and drags it across the yard screaming in it's face. That video is on youtube. He set the dog up to fail, then punished it for failing. Worst. Trainer. Ever.

@Alientank also see the video of him harshly choking a dog with the leash after it looks back to him for direction THREE times and he ignores it. Look at the video of the Sheltie where he makes the motion of pulling on the leash to the dogs owner, and the dog hunkers down to get away from him. He's a pathetic insecure tyrant. Real trainers know how to train a dog without scaring the sh*t out of it.

No self-proclaimed "professional" should be dragging, choking, and screaming at dogs on national T.V., especially when it's a show designed to show viewers at home what to do. The problem is this isn't a "Training style" it's abuse, and anyone who has read a book or been to a seminar or class about dog training in the last ten years knows that.

Brad Pattison is not qualified to train dogs much less run classes claiming he can certify people to do so.

His certification is worthless, most importantly he has never trained a dog to a high level - either as working dogs or for competition.

Certification means nothing. However, this guy is an obvious prick. I've seen the way he reacts with dogs, and it's usually a "snap-hiss" reaction that is borderline abusive. I don't know why people (including you) go after Cesar Millan. You should keep talking about assholes like this guy who are obviously in no way qualified to even OWN a dog. If you get if from the right organization, it means you are familiar with learning theory, psychology, animal behavior - and in some cases tehy also demand several hundred hours of instruction.

Pattison like Millan employs the same adversarial method to dog training, the same outdated language (alpha/dominance, ect) and the same poor and misguided use of pain.

But yeah, Pattison is an ignorant prick. At least Millan seems to really care - even if he lacks the knowledge to effectively help.

I can see a distinct difference between Pattison and Millan. I wouldn't let Pattison babysit a pet rock, much less a dog, but Millan I would trust completely. I think Millan gets the rap he does because of controversy. I'll agree that his methods aren't what most of the population consider "acceptable," but I've not once watched the show and felt uncomfortable about what he was doing. Even Millan himself says that his way isn't the only way, and he's always open to new ideas.
