WatchTalkForum; I noticed you had to re-grip after every shot. If I may make a suggestion. I have one of those grip excercise things you would get when you buy a weight lifting set, I dont know what they are called, but it really made a difference with my accuracy and ability to rapidly re-acquire my target for follow-up shots, especially when rapid firing. Give it a try, It can hurt! Good shooting!
Quick to anyone out there that owns this gun, how is the corrosion resistance? The reason that I ask, is that I live in alabama. And we have a saying, if you don't like the weather, wait a minute. so I try to stick to the stainless steel. any advice would be appreciated, thank you.
Thanks for making this a VR to my review~I was also pleasantly surprised by this gun. I shoot it well, and haven't had a single problem with it. Very happy with my purchase! However, I completely agree with your statement that Ruger should provide a second magazine instead of the pouch :)
You should use the word FIREARM instead of WEAPON. BAD GUYS use weapons......GOOD GUYS carry Firearms.
While we hope we will never be giving a police statement after having to use our firearm in self defense....you want to use your choice of words wisely.
What do you want the jury to hear - "the guy pulled pointed his gun so I fired my weapon" or " The criminal pointed his weapon at me so I drew my firearm to defend myself"
@ashworth1025 yup absolutly. That's exactly what I was told by a lawyer who taught the laws at my MI CPL class. He's head of Gun laws in the state so i figured what he had to say was truthful. it's amazing that even though you were in the right to doing it...how your words could skew what the jury decides.
that is a great video and awesome info, keep up the good work and keep the videos coming. also i am highly considering this firearm (LC9) or the Beretta Nano in 9MM all though i dont think the Nano has not come out yet i dont really want to wait for them to b in production, and when they do there will b a waiting list a mile long, what have u heard about the Nano and do u think i should wait for it
so the big question? SR9c or LC9? I wish the LC9 had the SR9c trigger, but I am really torn between these two for edc. Obviously the LC9 is much easier to conceal, but I like the firepower of the SR9c and it can double as a home defense gun with the larger mag inserted at night. Hmmmm, decisions.
Excellent video! I bought the LC9 3 days ago and its wonderful. The only other Ruger I own is the GP100 and that also is a realy good gun. In my opinion Ruger makes some of the best guns at realy great prices
Thank you for a great informative video in a reasonable amount of time. Unlike some people (nutnfancy) who take 40+ mins then talk the gun down. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for the review. I've been thinking about a smaller carry gun and am looking at this and an assortment of Glock's. The pricing of this guy is attractive.
With Militia units in our AO the LC9 is used as a cache gun. Small, well built and easily stored in a tube with other back up weapons it is a good choice. Package we store in groups of 5 weapons is as follows. 5 Ruger LC9 PSA, 30 factory magazines, 2,000 rounds of factory ball, 5 sets of firing pins, extractor, ejector and all small springs. 5 Holster/mag pouch packets. This arm supplements the the Makarov arms stored in the same configuration. This is a 5/10 system. Ne Copula Nobiscum!
I just bought one of these guns for my mother (ccw pistol) as a a birthday gift (recommended by my father). She also has a Ruger sr9c and loves to shoot it, but with her clothing style, its a bit too big to carry. After putting about 50 rounds through it myself, I really want to get one for myself. I have a decent sized hand, and as small as this pistol is, its very comfortable. Also, Im from middletown, oh. Is that range open to the public (or military). It looks much better than target world
@bbrewer5 - Sim-Trainer is indeed open to the public. Definitely stop out some time! Google their website as YT won't allow me to link to it. Sim-Trainer is the name of the range.
@Livingdeadsavior I was going back and forth between the LC9 and the S&W BG 38 and decided to go with the LC9. I liked the way it felt in my hands and that is was so thin. (Plus 9mm are cheaper to shoot so you won't go bankrupt practicing).
i'm trying to find that one new handgun that doesn't have a slide release...i sorta thought it was a walther but i may be mistaken...can't anyone help me?!!?
...I hope Ruger comes out with some sort of bundle package for this gun...regardless I have gone ahead and ordered mine...I've gone ahead and ordered a case like the one shipped with the SR9C as well as an extra mag with the pinky extension....I cannot wait....love your video by the way...very nice review...
....not only do I knock Ruger for the lack of an extra mag but I also knock Ruger for the case that they provide with the LC9....Ruger, in it's own manual that comes with the SR9C , states that you should never store your firearm in any holster or case that is made of leather, fabric, or canvas as these materials attract moisture even though they may appear to be perfectly dry. They should ship the LC9 as they do the SR9C with a similiar case and extra mag.
I own this gun, called a few shops in late Feb. and found one that had 1 in stock. Got it for $369 + tax out the door for $400 and change. Great price point and very accurate for such a short barrel, which this video speaks to. Only knock on the review itself is that he fails to mention there is an internal lock on the gun itself. Those are the 'keys' he is holding in the video as he mentions it, there is also a pad action lock with keys. Accurate and cheap..I've spent more on less for sure.
Looks like a blend of the SR9 and the LCP. Does the slide lock back on last round?? The LCP does not...wish it did... The LCP also only came with 1 magazine when it came out. Guess they figure if it is going to be in the bottom of you pocket, there will be no place for a second magazine.
Is this a good beginner gun? What did you think of the clip release getting in the way? I have heard there has been issues. What do you think of the manual safety?
I just bought one of these new - and what I keep seeing in these review vids, is a lot of recoil. It may not feel like it, as you mentioned - but if you watch, it looks a bit unstable. I'd like to see it fired in a more rapid succesion, and see how long it takes to regain target control.
Although it's not a bad gun at all, I'm still not sure what this really has over a Kel-Tec PF9 or P11, both of which fire the same 9mm cartridge, same overall size/weight, and are MUCH cheaper ($100 or more, depending on where you shop). All the LC9 has is a pointless external safety, better finish, and a somewhat lighter trigger pull - whooptie-doo! The SR9C offers a LOT more gun for not much more money and a very similar size/weight.
@bobevans97 No, my girlfriend carries HER SR9C. She's way smaller than me and has no problem concealing or carrying it. I carry a Kel-Tec P11. But if she ever decides to turn loose of the SR9C, I'll be all over it.
This seems like a very nice gun. I can carry my LCP in my front pocket pretty comfortably. Do you think the LC9 would carry comfortably in a front pocket?
@freedoomed - do check it out. Do you have a range near you that sells guns and allows you to rent/test out guns? My local range (Sin-Trainer) does. I highly recommend you give both guns a try before plunking down the cash.
@WatchTalkForums Ya, I have a range that is pretty close that sells guns. I don't know if they rent them or not. Why do gun shops always have funny names? This one is called "Targetmaster".
Was super impressed with your shooting abilities. On this video you said 15 feet it looked more like 15 meters to me was it 15 feet?
