your hi-hat and bass beats are out of time with each other. from 2.49. the bass beat is meant to hit with the opening and closing of the hi hat.

Except for that, I think that Ben Johnston is one flippin' hell of a drummer, he is my absolute favourite drummer of all times!

I'm playing drums with a little bit and a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to learning songs, everytime I go online and look up tabs I find most of them incorrect. I find it difficult learning by ear, do you know anywhere that I can get 100% correct tabs or near enough, also have you a tutorial on 'the golden rule' as I want to learn it so bad :-)

@goatyo from personal experience,i think its best to learn from ear. try to start of with easy stuff. I myself dont try and learn exactly what the recording arist does, but learn the rythm, main points and fills. e.g any major stops, and breakdowns during. the main point such as timing, hi-hat/ride and snare combo, and how heavy the part being played is, and what the main cymbal(s)/drums(s) being used. I feel it helps to develop your own style, fills, rythms, and general creativity.

@terrifictez Hey, thanks for the feedback! if your wrists are getting sore, maybe do some warm up techniques before you play/practice. If you are still having problems try wrist supports or consult with a doctor/physio. DC

@dotDaibhidh just to add to that, i used to get really bad pains i my wrists, and still do sometimes. One of the best things you can do is get some medical tape and wrap your wrists fairly tightly but not so that it restricts movement or blood. This will support the moving cartilige in your wrists. I only learned this tip after 4 years of fairly constant playing and now when i rotate my hand it sounds like a dodgy pepper grinder. and if i dont keep taping up my wrists it wll get worse.
