Tetris Attack x20 chain

Those of you that question if the "?" gives you a big block, yes, taller then the picture can hold. I have been able to combo out into "?". My brother and I usually take about 5-8min playing until one of us can't keep up with the "trash". Because we play VS a lot and we both are fast I know that the block "trash" size keeps up past 12, because he was still finishing thru the block "break down" after like 9 and there was still a almost full screen size block left that killed him. Fun Game.

Do the game register those ? chains. Because it still shows 12x on the opponent side. If not, it aint even no point getting it as the payout will always be 12 right?

@BlackCecil05 unfortunately the game does not consider any chains after 13x, all the chains that you do after it will continue being the "?" and it won't be any bigger...

You can use an emulator, save state it, memorize a sequence and do it like you though on that as you played.

Hmm, it stops at 13, what a specific number.

But I think I know why that is, a 13x chain causes a 12 row garbage block, which is the entire screen, this is the best explanation as to why it would stop at 13x.

Highest I have ever seen from a CPU is x14. I was amazed really, since they never tend to get bigger then 8ish

I've seen a computer to a really high chain before, not sure how high. But my highest was 16 or 17, and I used to play years back when I was 13, so I'm sure a x20 is possible by others. I'll give you benefit of doubt on this.

You press L and R on both controler 1 and 2. You have to press them at the same time.. or just hold down the L and R buttons for both controlers. You may need a second person to do this with you.

its so easy to tell wether its the computer playing or not. the biggest thing that gives it away is when the first thing the cpu duz at the very beginning of the game compared to a real person is fill in the small space automatically put in the game.0:07 also you can tell how fluently the curser moves(because the controllers are impossable to work with when your trying to go fast[at least for me{really}])

Level 7 CPU is too easy. Try Level 20 on Puzzle League (Game Boy Advance). Really hard.

Go to the options and turn on the level 7 computer in player 2 and try it yourself. In time trial mode it will get AT MOST 15k points. A x20 is worth 9170 by itself, and I have never seen the computer get one that high.

Your' playing style makes a difference. In Vs. mode I rarely lose ( if ever ) to a level 7. But in time trial it's about 50-50.

Well... the player clearly had a clear available to get rid of the garbage. Unfortunately, I believe the player kept rising the stack and really did "suicide" but it isn't from the chain. I would be devastated if that had happened to me...

I'm a little skeptical on this one if it was really you. There were times when you could have set up your blocks as the combo was going, but you didn't...just like the computer. I don't know though.

It looks authentic to me. The AI is really stupid in that its "vision" is very limited. The player was clearly watching the entire stack, which the AI is unable to do. Furthermore, the AI's speed is inhumane... this player's speed looks sensible (and human) to me.

This is not CPU playing. CPU moves the cursor faster than that, and always ends the chains before it gets to the ?.

I've seen the AI go past x13 (to get x?) but on rare occasions.

Performing a x21 would indeed be suicidal unless you're guaranteed nothing is coming your way. The reds are positioned to clear the garbage. But I guess if the player was going for a chain record... the match outcome wouldn't matter.

There's a Lift option that allows you to lift the blocks during a chain...

If it helps, I have "Dr. Mario & Puzzle League" on the GBA. I don't think the option is on older versions of Tetris Attack
