yup i have heared about him. he was based in Tacloban way back in early 90's but if im not mistaken he has worked abroad as a seaman. unfortunately, there is almost no Sikaran activities today in Tacloban. Members have shifted to karatedo or taekwondo. I hope the other members would start to revive Sikaran in Tacloban. By the way im also from Ormoc City in Leyte :) but im now based here in Cebu.

SIKARAN is the ANCIENT ARTS of FOOT FIGHTING originated at BARAS RIZAL played mainly by the rice farmers and not the father of GERINIMO. His FATHER never had any MARTIAL ARTS BACKGROUND AT ALL. GERINIMO is a practioner of KARATE and no idea on how SIKARAN been played by our forefathers. all their forms our taken from KARATE watch it all here at you tube. it is really a disgrace for all SIKARAN practioner.

haha i respect your opinion. if it looks cinematic to you then its fine. but these variation of biakid has knocked out a lot of people already both in the competition arena and in the street. this kick might look pretty but its functional. Sukmag Patid is also good and ive got friends who are from your school. but this is Sikaran and this is what we are trying to help propagate.. so if you dont like it.. no prob.. i just wish you good luck.. hehehe

If you want to reli learn and not just abstract from books or hearsay or baseless observations and conclusions from others, pls visit those places and u will see how sikaran is rooted in their culture. But of course you have ur opinion and i respect it... but better set it straight because you are off target.
sorry my friend but you are not accurate. Sikaran was not founded by Meliton Geronimo. it existed in areas around Rizal Province long before Geronimo was born. Our group is not even aligned by the Sikaran of Master Geronimo. We belong to the Banaag clan of Sikaran.That only goes to show that Sikaran was founded by the elders of Baras, Morong,Tanay and in sorrounding areas.

Sikaran is a martial art indigenous to the Philippines specially in a town named Baras in Rizal Province. I agree Sikaran has its own merits and good points. But so does the other martial arts. We at Tropical Sikaran Cebu maintain good and cordial relationships with other martial groups because we believe that style bashing can be counterproductive. That is why respect is always inculcated to all students of Cebu Sikaran.

I see where you're coming from. It is easy to compare fighting styles, every style has its strengths. It all depends on the fighter. If you research it, there have been many Sikaranistas that have fought and won in non-Sikaran tournament settings including Pro Muay Thai settings.
You might be looking at it from an MMA standpoint. But as with all "Strikers", the majority fall victim to ground game.
Nice!!! First time I saw in youtube the famous Sikaran "Sacrifice" kick. My fellow Sikaranista keep posting. It's one way of promoting our style. Mabuhay kyo jan sa Cebu.
