I've been flying twice a year for the past 15 years from LHR to LAX and I still say I rather watch this stuff sitting at home safe,I enjoy travelling but holy shit I hate flying.. And this is a goddam long flight and BA has freaking narrow seats and command out of this world prices compared to other airlines for larger seats upgrades...what the heck !!!
this flight must have been close to or at maximum takeoff weight because the rate of climb is lower and thrust wasnt decreased soon after takeoff to climb setting.
@EnnCamp its not like your at the theater whare you watching a singing and dancing show but if it was then they said that your cheating, beside since your traveling, there shouldn't be any panalty for video your travel.
@thes4uce you have to be bill gate or obama to sit upstares because it cost $10,000 to sit upstair per travel unless your a pilot, a captrain, or a owner of this plane.
I like when a plane flies at low level parallel to a highway or street so I can guess how fast it moves by comparing to cars. Recently I was on a CRJ700 and just before landing in AMS we were flying over a highway and the plane was so slow in that it was traveling only a little faster that trucks, well below 200 kmh on short finals for a jet it's quite slow.
Nice clean window makes all the difference. And don't the engines sound so different from the front. I found that droning noise so annoying even on a short flight. Love the way the engines and wing flex. Good capture!
No two takeoffs are the same....the amount of thrust used on takeoff depends heavily on how much the airplane's weight is at the time, not to mention the quality of the video and audio are all a matter of perception, there is no way to determine which has the higher thrust unless you look up the specifications. Both BA and Qantas should have the same maximum thrust per engine.
I'm pilot and can tell u why, the landing and take off are two crucial moments of the flight. A electronic device has a magnetic field around it, every electronic device. Because an airplane is a pressurized cabin the magnetic electronic field can't go outside so it's stays like a bullet you fire on metal in the cabin. During the flight we can fix it very quickly but in the landing and landing it would be crucial.
Love the BA 747s, favourite type of plane of all! Would love to fly one myself one day. Thanks for sharing - straight to faves. One of the best T/O vids I've seen.

Very exciting ! Keep the great videos coming. Question, how do you take video on a flight after 911? Don't the stewarts tell you to put it away?

Digital cameras, many which also can record video, are allowed. They don't emit signals that can mess up the plane's systems.

Video never does the sound of the RB211 justice,i flew a Qantas 747-400 from Melbourne,an awesome sounding engine and the feeling of power.

Yes I have flown in 747's powered by the RR RB211 many times.
The noise is incredible if you are sat behind the engines. Great video but nothing like being sat in a 747 for real!
