  • Thanks for the vid - I am going to put some agricultural tires on my LT and am not looking forward to this! Haha.

  • thank you! that helped alot!

  • thanks that was every easy

  • nice vid, but once the tire wall was over the rim on one side, the tire stem could have been changed without completely removing the rim.

  • @eatingcatshit True, but we replaced the tire and the stem.

  • Great video helped me alot on my go kart tire I was about to give up then I watched ur video and got the job done thanks alot :)

  • being from Minnesota, I don't get to hear an accent like that very often. We say tire in two syllables, like tie-yer. You guys say "Taar". Not cutting you down, just not used to it...had to play parts a few times to hear it! Great instruction tho!!

  • The thing that was most helpful was the idea that the rim goes onto the tire and NOT the TIRE ONTO the RlM!!!!! I had tried putting the tire onto the rim without luck and had decided to pay someone to install my new tires. However, when I tried installing the tire onto the rim I had both tires installed in less than 10 minutes! Thanks for a GREAT video!!!!

  • Good tip w/the vise grips.

  • Thanks you saved me $30.00 and a boat load of stress

  • soap will help the bead slide on and off a lot easier also.

  • I was not successful using a ratchet strap in the middle of the tire tread (or even trying to use a "fire" method). I eventually discovered if I used ratchet straps on the outside edges of the tread, I could then get the tire sidewalls to bow out towards the edges of the rim. With this method I was then successful getting the tire beads seated or sealed on the rims.

  • My carlisle snoblower tire slipped off the rim. I used the illustrated mounting method except the vice grips. I also wore knee pads to brace the tire. I really had to wrestle the tire back on the rim, but it does work. I also used dish soap on the tire's edge. Don't use grease or other chemical lubes as they could break down rubber over time. I then held the tire on the ground vertical, pushed all the air out and used my belt around the tire rather than a rope or a strap.

  • its alot harder to breack a bead than that

  • @nickisamazing11 This one did give up the ghost rather easily. Some are harder to break than others. I have had to use a bumper jack and put the tire under it while jacking up my truck...crude but effective.

  • Wow. Easy and fast. I would never have been able to figure this out alone. Thanks for the great video. My Carlisle Super Lugs are on the go kart now thanks to you.

  • Thanks for the easy to follow video. Very useful. After trying to do my tire for an hour unsuccessfully. I found your video and very quickly was able to change my riding mower tire. The vice grips and other techniques was what I was missing. Thanks.

  • Thanks for the great video. I have tried to listen closely at the point where you put the vise grip on the rim, but I can't understand what you are saying or what the purpose of the vise grip is --- would appreciate someone helping me with that. Another comment -- some of us older folks have difficulty hearing; I find the background music distracting and interfering with the commentary. I can understand the young lady clearly, but not the gentleman.

  • @remle22 Hey! Thanks for the input. We never can hear Randy either, he mumbles a lot.

The vice grips just give a spot on the rim that the tire cant spin past... it will

help hold the tire bead down as you work it around the rim. It can be done

without them, but it helps to have a helping hand.

    Thanks again!

    Victor

  • @remle22 if you couldnt understand what to do from that video you shouldnt be working on a mower anyways.

  • I found it you have a problem getting the bead to seal use an air gun with a small tip on it. (A little soap around the beads helps) With the needle valve out of the valve stem it will inflate quite rapidly. So be careful not to over do it.

  • Thanks! I could not for the life of me get the bead to seal. I used a ratchet - type cargo strap and on the 2nd try, the tire poped in place and started to inflate! Great idea - thanks very much!

  • if only at 4:15 it was that easy

  • If you are asking what tool got the rim off of the mower, a can of "PB Blaster" usually takes care of the rust problems. It is usually a clip that holds the rim on, and it comes off easily with a screwdriver or neeedle nose pliers.

If the rim "Wont come off" it is still possible to mount the tire on the rim while it is still on the mower...It is a pain in the butt, but still do-able.

  • @outdoordistributors

I would like to really thank you for this video. It is simple instruction and very good. I was stuck trying to get on and off a Carlise tire on my BCS tiller and followed these instructions to remove the old and reinstall the new tires. This is the best video I have seen on changing tires with screwdrivers. Thanks again.

  • would have helped to share what tool got the tire off

  • If painted rims are a concern for you, try wrapping the screwdrivers with several layers of tape. It will help keep the piant from chipping. Outdoor Distributors has almost any lawn mower tire you could need.

  • thank you much. This helps me out. See if I can do it now.

  • thank you -great vid! the graphics and tips got me out of a jam!

  • you make it look easy

  • Just an added tip: Warm tires are much easier to mount than cold ones!

  • Thanks for posting this. Now let me go try it for myself.
