  • On Leavenworth's authenticity:

"Das Gift" is a shop in Leavenworth. Unfortunately, "gift" means "poison" in German.

Also, the Welcome sign was incorrect for a long time reading "Wilkomen zu Leavenworth" translating literally, to "welcome towards Leavenworth".

It is correct now - "Willkomen in Leavenworth"

  • hey, i live in bavaria. And in the "original" bavaria many of this traditions get lost. Good to know, that the traditions will live on in other countries.

  • OWNAGE

  • We love Leavenworth and have been visiting since I was a child, and now I take my young children there several times a year. We especially love beers and brats at the Munchen Haus' beer garden, visiting the Hat Shoppe and Woodshoppe, and always buy awesome cheese from the Cheese Monger. It feels like a little bit of Bavaria just 2 hours from Seattle! Great video!!
