Got one for Xmas, image quality outdoors is amazing, but no image stabilization (which is noticeable in this movie) makes it useless. I returned it. Panasonic, Sony and Kodak have HD capabilities in movie modes of their small cameras. Can't take still shots with the Flip.

Unfortunately no, but just record something for a few seconds and take a picture out of the video if u have video editing software.

&fmt=22 is the code for watching in HD. &fmt=18 is the code for watching in High Quality. Clicking watch in HD is just like typing in &fmt=22.

Actually I think that &fmt=22 does give slightly better quality, if u open two windows and compare it you will prolly see it, but its just slightly better.

you may think so, but i dont believe &fmt=22 does any more then pressing watch in HD. i did a side by sibe comparison like u suggested and timed them up so that they would play in sync and i didnt notice one being better then the other - i saw the same details/clearity and the same digital distortion in both videos. also, when you do &fmt=whatever number it changes the resolution and &fmt=22 changes it to the resolution for Hd which needs to get bigger in which you notice when you press watch HD

Personal i would go with power director or any of the top end video/audio programs. Buy or Download, but the software they give you only makes it HQ not HD.

Here's a trick! Add &fmt=22 to the end of the URL to watch in true high quality!

This doesn't work with every video, only with the ones that were shot in 720p resolution.

When you press watch in high quality and put it on fullscreen and you see that it takes up the whole screen then it's hd and you can do the trick.

not always, it can be widescreen without being 720p. You just have to be sure the video you upload is 1280x720. Then it'll be actual HD video. On youtube. WOW.

My channel has one, it's the left 4 dead one. Check it out if you want to see more HD stuff on YT. I'm pumped about YT doing this, it really expands what ppl can do, i.e. production.

For every other video, you can improve the quality by using fmt=18 instead.

Compression and the hardware. Basically it isn't HD... the size of the video is HD, just not the resolution. Its still way better than standard.
