I have a 8800GT 256MB in my system. But I like the 8500GT, too. It costs about 30€ now in my country germany. And it´s possible to play all games without any lags. You have to turn down the details to lowest in some games like crysis. But crysis even looks pretty in lowest detail levels. ;) So you can get a gaming-card in the 8500GT for very low amount. Buy and be happy! ;)

It will be so funny to watch this card STRUGGLE to run a game on the lowest settings in just about a year or so... hahaha pretty slow card only for the low budget user.
dude why do u last so much to shoot? lol at first u had to shoot the guy in the second floor, and the other 2 guys lived too long :P, just see and shoot man, dont wait.
i think the 8500 is good for a casualgamer i mean u can actually run any game in existance and very well unless u want to dedicate ur life to gaming and check every single detail in all games i suggest u get this one which is a lot cheaper than a 8800
does anyone know wat the exact differences are between a 7600GS and a 8500GT? i need to upgrade and just want to kno if its worth spending that much..
The 8500GT will be cheaper, have blu-ray and HD playback. totally adapted for Vista -lets face it we'll all end up buying it :) and have DX10 and shader 4.0. even if you just use it for Dx9 games all the things mentioned above are extras :D that arent on the 7600gs
what? the pc is expensive? i added all this stuff on newegg (if you build yourself) with 2gig ram at 800MHz and a pentium D 2.8 with this card and all of that costs 347.95 after shipping and taxes. cry 360 fanboy, cry
not really, twice as fast, just about 30%. as far as i'm concerned, the 8000 series (besides the 8800 GT, GTS [640 and 320], GS, GTX, and Ultra are a joke... in fact, most of the 8800 series is a repeat of itself.
Hahah of course not you are making a great mistake. The 8800GTX 768 MB card will run everything on highest for at least a year and on high for the years after... Will be the best for a long time
what about crysis? well, at least developer companies now know not make games that require "rigs from the future" to play. so I hope they learned their lessons (look at the sales)
now, lets look at teh 8800 series. the GTX only performs 3-4 frames less (average) than the Ultra. look at the price difference. now lets look at 8800GS. don't you think it'[s way less than most 8800 series? shouldn't it have been the 8700GT? the 640 and 320 GTS's, the 8800GT, and the 8500GT ddr3 are the best bang for$
yeh its a good card, I have one and I mainly use it for online gaming. think of it as a 7300GT-7600GS hybrid and you have roughly the power of this card.
@ xdirt
I can´t believe, what you wrote. My 8800GT 256MB performs Crysis in 1024x768 and all@high, AAx0 at about 25-55 fps.
About 12 months ago I had a 8600GTS. And that card performed crysis in 1024x768 all@medium at about 20-50 fps.

oh, i thought he was talking about a 360 or a different PC, lol.
venom55520 3 years ago
I agree but a 8500GT is £42.00 GBP and a 8600GT XFX is around £90.00 GBP. so there is a big price difference
vertigo5000 4 years ago
and the xfx 8600gt is twice as fast. so you get what you pay for.
