I can´t believe, what you wrote. My 8800GT 256MB performs Crysis in 1024x768 and all@high, AAx0 at about 25-55 fps.

About 12 months ago I had a 8600GTS. And that card performed crysis in 1024x768 all@medium at about 20-50 fps.

I have a 8800GT 256MB in my system. But I like the 8500GT, too. It costs about 30€ now in my country germany. And it´s possible to play all games without any lags. You have to turn down the details to lowest in some games like crysis. But crysis even looks pretty in lowest detail levels. ;) So you can get a gaming-card in the 8500GT for very low amount. Buy and be happy! ;)

Pentium D 925 3GHZ @ 3.80GHZ 4mg cash

Ram 2 x 1Go Kingstone 667mhz @ 840mhz

8500 GT 512mb ddr2 and overclocked

i run crysis 800x600 every thing on hight only Shadows and nuclaire or i don't now is on medium and post effect too on medium ;-) runs great .

i think the 8500 is good for a casualgamer i mean u can actually run any game in existance and very well unless u want to dedicate ur life to gaming and check every single detail in all games i suggest u get this one which is a lot cheaper than a 8800

The 8500GT will be cheaper, have blu-ray and HD playback. totally adapted for Vista -lets face it we'll all end up buying it :) and have DX10 and shader 4.0. even if you just use it for Dx9 games all the things mentioned above are extras :D that arent on the 7600gs

not really, twice as fast, just about 30%. as far as i'm concerned, the 8000 series (besides the 8800 GT, GTS [640 and 320], GS, GTX, and Ultra are a joke... in fact, most of the 8800 series is a repeat of itself.

what about crysis? well, at least developer companies now know not make games that require "rigs from the future" to play. so I hope they learned their lessons (look at the sales)

now, lets look at teh 8800 series. the GTX only performs 3-4 frames less (average) than the Ultra. look at the price difference. now lets look at 8800GS. don't you think it'[s way less than most 8800 series? shouldn't it have been the 8700GT? the 640 and 320 GTS's, the 8800GT, and the 8500GT ddr3 are the best bang for$

yeh its a good card, I have one and I mainly use it for online gaming. think of it as a 7300GT-7600GS hybrid and you have roughly the power of this card.
