  • wait i know age different doesent matter really but aint chief like 44 in halo 3 soo hes gettin on and how olds samus

  • Chief is 42.

however, he's spent a lot of time frozen in storage, so his biological age is late 30's

Samus is in her late twenties, early 30's. and will likely live to be a LOT older than him.

  • @galestin soo when in storage he gets younger ?

and be sik if they joined up on team also dont spartans live to 112 well unless they get mia

  • No, while in cold storage his body effectively doesn't age.

it's not that it makes them younger, it's that their crogenically frozen.

like sticking meat into the fridge so it'll last longer.

  • @galestin know i get ya

Cortana: SHE?!?!?!?!?!? *Samaus comes in* Samaus: Oh hell no! *Samaus and cortana fight each other* Mastercheif:this is not good
  • Who the heck is samus??

  • @TheEquestrianForever Main character from the Metroid series.

  • Cortana is going to kick smaus's ass for flirting with her cheify

  • Master Chief is the ultimate badass... deal with it

  • Samus WAS the original MC...:)

  • TACTICAL MUTE, INCOMING!!!!!

  • I think that at 1:04, that pic was drawn and featured on an issue of Nintendo Power by a reader.

  • master chief > samus

  • He's more popular, that's about it.

otherwise Samus is the more powerful character.

  • @Therisont more powerful char in the sense of having better agility and a bigger built in arsenal? because MC can flip a toppled 66 metric ton Scorpion tank...In sheer strength I think MC would tear Samus a new one.

  • @Mar10nii

That is gameplay mechanics. Spartans II can lift three times their weight outside of their suit, and their Mjolnir doubles their output. ALthough they weigh more than normal humans, all that added up is nowhere near 66 metric tons.

  • @pkraccoon13 Well, the programmers wanted the game to be as lookalike the books as possible, so why not make the scorpion nearly impossible to tip and removing the feature that MC can tip it over? and even then... if he only can lift 780kg inside his suit, he would still tear samus a new one, as she only weighs 90kg inside her suit. And as I recon, she lacks the physical strength of a spartan, and relies more on agility, shields and shooting prey before they reach her.

  • Samus is actually incredibly strong, able to toss enemies bigger, tougher, and stronger than Brutes around like nothing. even kick such foes a dozen feat into the air.

keep in mind, a naked Brute is heavier than a Spartan-II in armor.

she's been know too tackle her foes, or leap on them to deliver point blank charge shots.

he's also still not as physically strong as sone foes who have superior enemies who have difficulty damaging her armor.

  • @galestin samus is wearing a suit that gives her the abilitys though... the suit spartans wear is just for protection all their skills and abilitys were trained into them so spartans are actually stronger without the suit samus wears i dont think shed last against brutes or any other halo foe i mean in her games they dont shoot at you that much in halo you get grenades and shots the face constantly i doubt shed be able to take it

  • the MJOLNIR armor spartan's wear also increases their abilities. strength, speed, refeflexes. hence why it's called a "Powered armor"

They are weaker without their armor. if you've read the books you'd know that.

the suit's ability to increase ones strength and speed that if a normal human was to wear the armor, it would kill them by snapping all their bones because the movement is THAT power.

even the chief dinged himself in the head during a salute because he wasn't used to the increases.

  • It's obvious you don't actually know much about Metroid.

Samus has to face off against enemies physically stronger than Elites, Spartans, Brutes, or even Hunters. Explosive much larger in size and strength than rockets or grenades, beams of plasma or other stronger energies as large and larger than the scarab tank's main cannon. Samus bursts through walls at super sonic speeds and takes no damage. gets stepped on by Godzilla sized enemies and gets back up like it was nothing.

  • @galestin Then how is it possible to die in metroid? and how realistic is it?...unlimited ammo etc...seriously, she can easily die of some small wall plant in a corridor, but a boss as high as a three story building can't do jack shit? Yes I'm a halo fanboy, but I do own all the newer metroid games (I think they were good).

  • How is it possible to die in metroid? because her enemies are equally as fictional.

How come in game master chief can be killed from being shot in the foot with the weakest weapon? or even by being shot in the gun?

in game, some things are just done either because they can't do anything about it, or it's simply to make it a challenge, but isn't anything but a mechanic, Canonically Samus isn't harm-able by the lesser life forms..

  • @galestin Name a game where you in multiplayer can't get killed by bullets to the foot?.. that point is invalid, that being a real game mechanic. Don't you think that Samus would get killed by the weakest attack in the toe if she were low on health and it being a multiplayer?

  • I suppose you missed the point.

I was labeling all the things In the Halo Games that make John seem much weaker than he actually is, as a counter argument for the "she gets hurt by plants".

riding off gameplay for a debate is overruled by canon or story related counter arguments, as gameplay is ruled by mechanics that are there for sake of balance, challenge, or cannot simply can not be helped.

  • @galestin Depends solely on the player...I played a modded map in halo CE and faced 30 Honor Guards, 10 Hunters and more grunts than you could count..It was a slaughterfest and I lost half my overshield. Hunters ingame are really nerfed though... I'm not even a very good player and the difficulty og the AI was set to heroic. I can't think of any scenario which have made the Chief look weak..

  • that getting struck in the back by any enemy that can make melee attacks instantly kills you.

that falling into water kills you, even if you could walk out of it.

that less than orbital drops kills you.

that he cannot move as quickly in game than he can in the books.

that his "I flip tanks" strength only applies to vehicles, and cannot use it against his enemies.

  • @Mar10nii That last time Samus was in multiplayer, the weakest weapon(Excluding the power beam) deliver a multi terrawatt burst of energy. Chief wouldn't be able to survive that with full health and over shields

  • @Wolfiethree yeah, well if you include plasma pistols in halo (which is really enough to kill an unshielded person/ODST in a shot given the temperature of the shot) then you should also include the weakest powerbeam shot...a single shot of anything in halo would kill a person in one shot unless you hit anything strong enough to withstand a bullet.

  • @Mar10nii The point is, one of the weakest weapons in Metroid, fires a multi terrawatt burst, the energy weapons in halo don't even come close to that. As for bullets, Samus' speed booster allows her to run at super sonic speeds, bullets travel at the speed of sound. If she can hit a metal wall while using the speed booster without taking damage, bullets won't be much of a problem.

  • @galestin Yes, that is a realistic trait for one which are not used to the strength...just as capt. America...Samus is a japanese anime char. and the japanese are always realistic when giving the heroes their powers...dragonball-z is the most realistic of all. Halo is at least plausible in a near future (100-200 years or so into the future). Just saying...MC is a real badass, and in my opinion puts anyone to shame in comparrison.

  • Brutes are not hard, a normal ODST could take on a dozen of them in ranged combat.

GIVEN SAMUS' SUPERIOR DEFENSIVE ABILITIES a Brute would be wasting his time in melee combat, even if he got that close before being blasted by a missile, she jumps into it using the screw attack... well lets just say there's be nothing left but ashes.

  • Samus also has super human attributes and immense skills outside her armor.

she WAS trained since she was 3 years old to be a warrior, and didn't get all that fancy stuff you see in the games till she was in her early twenties.

even without her armor, she's much like a spartan super human speed, strength, reflexes, intelligence, durability, etc. it's just that her armor gives her more things than their armor.

  • @galestin You know that most spartans have to run into real combat at age of 14-17? And you know how the japanese is with giving the hero superpowers? just watch power-rangers...how realistic is metroid contra halo?

  • Ironic, Samus' first combat was at 14 years old. enemy intent was entirely lethal, yet using nothing but her arm cannon resolved it without shedding blood. firing only to disarm her would be foes.

I don't honestly care for realism when it comes to games. just because she's unrealistic, doesn't change anything for the course of the debate.

  • @galestin So? Just after augmentation (age 14) MC kicked the asses of four ODST in melee combat, being so strong that two died and the remaining ones severely injured. He did not even mean to harm them so much at all. This was however not Johns first combat experience, but was as the example you now are telling me similar in the way of the conflict on the ODSTs part intended to be lethal.

  • Given Samus' strength as a 14 year old girl (still finding this ironic) she could likely kill an ODST too with a single kick, she could jump several meters into the air by this point. she got her augmentations when she was 3.

Chief probably weighs well over 200 himself. is it hard to believe someone of increased bone durability/density, muscle strength, and 6'3 with an athletic body can weigh a little less than 200 pounds?

  • @galestin he weighs 130kg = 286 pounds unarmored...and she 95-90kg (=209-198 pounds) armoured... I don't get what you're trying to tell me by the height/weight section of this commen above..

  • again, the manual that stated her weight did not state whether it was in or out of armor, most people just assume it meant with armor.

I'm telling you Samus should be much heavier than her image lets on. muscles weigh a lot and she's super human strong, her bones are super durable, to increase durability without increasing size they'd need to increase density, ergo more weight.

Not that it makes much a difference in the end, only proves how much more advanced her armor is if it's that light

  • @galestin she weighs 95 kg or something in full armour...if she's to tackle anyone effectively she needs to move at a speed of 100-150 km/h to increase her movement energy to aprox two tons...an impact like that would kill most people...even a spartan. MC is just lucky to survive the orbital drop of halo 3 (full suit lockdown though)..

  • Actually, Samus' weight isn't really given.

the manual it's in doesn't state that's with or without the armor. 95 KG with armor is unrealistically light, yeah I know it's metroid, but I've always got the impression the given weight was meant for her actual weight not the armor.

two of the manuals also State the speed booster allows Samus to run at super sonic speeds.. what's over 1000 km/h easy.

  • @galestin don't you think 95/90 (whatever) KG is a little much for a skinny girl like that? unless she's wolverine I can't see how she can weigh that much. Her armour is probably a light composite, but then, how can it take so much as a blow from a enemy that can fling her ship around?...does not make any sense to me. A person running at the speed of 1000km/h + would die from excaustion, total organ failure, pulverization of the bones, and if hit a bump, die from her internal organs going splat.

  • Fiction, Samus' armor and shield probably absorb the blow extremely well.

I don't know how she's able to run that fast. The Chozo did it? it's extreme fiction? magic? what answer would you like? doesn't change the matter that she CAN. which is why this vs matchup is so lopsided.

chief is a bad-ass, I won't deny that, and at least his novelized personnality is better than Samus'. but bad ass doesn't make you win against something simply out of your league.

  • @galestin hmm...unless E=MC^2 does not apply for metroid, then I can't see how most of her and her chozo armours feats are remotely plausible...if her armour would have had a mass equal to 300-400kg alone I would at least agreed that it could withstand a real blow, but it does not. 95kg is so out of place, because a girl of her height and build can not weigh so much with or without the suit. I weigh 85kg and I'm standing 5'8. I'm not overweight, but I have the build of a gorilla..

  • she could weigh that much is her muscles and bones are super dense due to increased efficiency. Samus isn't 100% human. and like John, she likely has denser bones because she can survive impacts, without armor as a child, that would splatter humans into a gooy mess.

your putting to much logic into a game with ghosts, psychically attuned are common, extra dimensional dark matter creatures with ghost like qualities, creatures that eat "Life Energy", and "Magic" (or so it's thought to be by a race)

  • @galestin This is off topic but a friend linked me to this comic once of deviant art, it was these two Chozo talking about the scan visor, after the one explains what it does, the other ask how that works, and after a pause the first chozo says bird magic. And every time you mention magic I can't help but thing of that comic. It also describes most of the tech in Metroid pretty well.

  • @Mar10nii That's like 200 or so pounds for someone who is 6'3", keep in mind she is also a bounty hunter, which means she's probably muscular underneath the zero suit(If I remember correctly in Super Metroid she had like a six pack. Muscle weights more then fat. Ergo she can be 6'3" 90 kg while looking skinny. Her armor wasn't made by humans but by an race that 'reached the peak of technology.' Who knows what kind of science fiction BS Nintendo could come up with to explain it all.

  • @Wolfiethree I'm norwegian...I do not use pounds at all, every weight measurement is given in grams, hectograms, kilograms, and metric tons. If you know the aproximate equal weight in KG, please use that...I would hate going to the web for a weightconverter every time you guys submit a comment using pounds etc. If you don't know, then tell me. Much appreciated..

  • @Mar10nii Right, most of metroid stuff is in metric, I'll use those numbers. But my point is, given her profession and her height, 90 kg isn't that much of a stretch for Samus.

  • @pkraccoon13 Also, if what you say is correct, why can he still flip a fucking m12 with a mass of about 3.5 metric tons? It's not like that's the estimated out you gave me. And this is not some game mechanic, it does happen in one of the books...flood? I don't remember since it's over a year and a half I read the books..

  • @Mar10nii

Flipping=/=Lifting weight. I stated specifically what the spartans lifting capacity is as stated by both the sparta enchancement program and the specs from the mjolnir. even then he did have some difficulty with the warthog anyways. like i said, gameplay mechanic to make the game less frustrating should the tank be flipped over by accident, unless other nonspartans can also have that ability as well. strength for samus is hard to say honestly.

  • @pkraccoon13 Just can't imagine a 90kg female teenish/young char to come out as the physically stronger half if comparing to a 450 kg male supersoldier...(if the chars are in full armour) it's like saying a one year old chihuahua could overpower a 3-4 year old rottweiler...

  • yes, if midair. which takes a split second for her. effectively the same nanosecond her feet leave the floor. she could easly be in it before he gets near.

more so, a shield a envelopes her armor, he'd have to contend with that first. and her's is much stronger than his.

she can also easily evade his attempts. she ALSO has super human reflexes, and is faster, on top of she could use her boosters for instant speed boosts while evading.

  • @galestin I don't buy it...in the cinematics and small cutscenes she looks sluggish and inresponsive while MC in the halo 4 trailer wakes up from cryo (which is an seriously exausting experience) battleready, grabs cortana, jumps through corridors in constantly shifting enviroments evading explosions and debrees.. this in a bulky armour and he weighs almost five times her weight.

  • Just like I don't buy Chief's Super human traits from Halo's 1, 2, and 3 besides strength. he's slow, sluggish, and the only impressive acts in gameplay are no better than Samus' because ALL action is done via gameplay. or that he's supposed to be capable of 105 km/h bursts of speed the books implies he can do.

Samus' Other M appearance, as well as the manga both portray Samus as extremely acrobatic, highly evasive, and quick.

I get the impression your basis is entirely from Metroid Prime.

  • @Mar10nii Samus can actually run really fast using her suit, incredible speed that would mastch the speed of a ghost in halo, i dont believe cheif can harm samus in any way shape or form, on the other hand, i dont think samus would be able to touch master chief, samus, was raised to kill since birth, cheif knows just as much as samus via spartan training combat wise, they also both think differently, cheif is reckless but fast thinking, and samus is a battle strategist,

  • @Mar10nii

it was a warthog in the novel: The Flood.

  • Samus can survive blows from an enemy that could toss (that's right, THROW) her 136 ton gunship. I don't think she'll be all to worried about a hit or twenty from a spartan.

bigger arsenal is inaccurate, his is bigger, just can't carry as many with him into battle.

and vehicle flipping is mostly a game mechanic (as you don't even touch the vehicle). otherwise Chief's never actually, story wise, flipped anything bigger than a warthog.

  • @galestin Well if thats in midair, then why not? Not like she'd take a lot of dmg by that, as if it would have been between the enemy and the ground. But if MC got the hold of her, and with his split second reaction and movement, he could easily rip chunks of her armour of (as in the first book about MC he grabs a airborn coin at the age of six and even says before he opens his hand what side is up). I also said BUILT IN arsenal...

  • @Mar10nii If a mech that can throw her 135 ton gun ship around with ease can't make a dent on her armor, I don't think chief could just 'rip a chunk' from her in mid air. Plus Samus is pretty good at maneuvering herself, she could easily turn the situation around and do a lot of damage to him.

  • @Wolfiethree but acidic plants can kill her...yeah...

  • He can die from shot in the toe, shot in the gun, from less than orbital falls, going to deep into water, by being attacked by invincible marines for killing Commander Keyes in Halo: CE . in the novels, Spartan armor deflects needle rounds, but in game it brutalizes unshielded spartans.

Game mechanics. minor wildlife on her planets being able to harm her is just a means of making a modest amount of challenge. it's actually discussed vaguely in metroid Fusion how tough the armor is with the SA-X

  • Comment removed

  • @Mar10nii Typo on my first reply. A hit from behind can kill him

  • good one!

    I missed that one!

but it's a general rule across Halo, accept to a limited degree Reach, that if yee is tapped in the back, your dead, regardless from who.

Even a normal Human can take out a Brute with a single back tap, when according to Cinematic it took Buck, a normal human, but one of the BEST ODSTs several deep Knife stabs to the neck to bring down a Brute.

  • 1:12 where did you get that pic can you send me the link that would be a sick wall paper

  • Pushes on you. Same goes for master chief. Samus's body would be pushing out and the gravity on a planet with less gees would make the planet push less and everythein in her body would expand without the force pushing on her. That's something they fail to address huh? Funny video though.

  • Hey guys let's assume that MC and Samus meet. What makes everyone think that they would fight? Why not team up and be the most kick ass tram in the universe? And with the whole 800 plus gees on the samus homeworld would only make her faster on planets beneeth that level. And if she were to take her suit off anywhere but that planet or a place with that much gravity pushing on her, than she would explode. Science dictates that you as a person have to push against gravity just as much as gravity-

  • hence why Metroid's logic doesn't make any sense.

Samus has taken her suit of on other planets before, in places with gravity perfectly suited for humans and suffered no ill effects.

Zebes' extremely high gravity IS written into the game, indirectly (as in, one of the games has the numbers to calculate it) but in all likely hood is a terrible mistake on who ever wrote that piece of lore, not knowing what it would equate too and just writting in some random, large number to make it seem legit.

  • @ifeeldizzy112233 same suggestion to you, take a look on the metroid e-manga

there is a scan that shows samus jumping around on the chozo homeplanet that is stated to have a higher gravity then earth and she jumps there a few meters high all without the suit ...

  • this is cool but nobody realizes master chief is actually a girl. i am completely serious. y else dont u think she shows her face? because she doesnt want people to realize master chief is a girl!

  • @MegaExplosives read the books end of convo

  • @MegaExplosives cool...so even bungie, the creators of master chief are lying when they refer to mc as 'he' or 'him'.....everything about game canon is false and "mistress chief" wears a massive cock piece for fashion???

  • @MrSgtSpartan Master Chief is a rank. If 117 was a girl, she'd be called master chief still cause that's the Chief's rank.

  • Comment removed

  • All the Spartan-IIs, male or female, have the same massive Cockpiece. while in armor you can't tell them apart.

It's only the Spartan-III's that have differently fitted armor that you can TELL which are male and female.

  • This is fuckin stupid bro T_T

  • thumbs up for MC and Cortana

  • thumbs up for MC and Samus

  • 0:45 LOL

  • 1:13 WTF!

  • i subbed cause one i love xbox360,s and i like the pictures :D

  • cheif is boy and samus is girl EEWWWW!!! HEEEEE LIKE HIM!!!! EEWWWW!!!

but... i have girl friend in kid ._. ew.

  • wHAT IF.... Master chief gets his own metroid power suit 0_0

    Win!

  • it would be unlikely.

the power suits have to be custom made as they only work with one person (the person they were designed for). it's a partly organic armor that it's connection with you at such a level that it runs at the genetic level, her armor's organic componets share her DNA.

and as it stands currently, the only place you could get one of those in the metroid universe.. well blew up, the entire planet.

  • Nothing happens.

Master chief isn't aware of how the suit works.

it has to be mentally summoned and maintained. because he doesn't know this, he wouldn't even know how to put the armor on even if a Chozo decided to make one for him.

as well trained as he is, it's a whole different training to use a power suit, which according to the creator of Metroid, Sakamoto, it's something beyond the human mind to fathom.

maybe as a spartan he's have a shot, but otherwise he lacks the knowledge to use it.

  • @pureislam1 ... he could get one from the GF .... but it is nowhere near advanced as samus armor ...

  • @MrTBSC True but he has more skillz and started being a super soldier at i dont know..... at the age of 6!

  • More skills is relative and unprovable.

and yeah, Spartans trained from ages between age 5-7, but only became Super human at age 14.

Samus on the other hand, was augmented to super human status at age 3, and was also trained to be a warrior since age 3 by the Chozo, a race more advanced in every conceivable way than the humans of the galactic federation (which, in turn, are more advanced than the Covenant, and logically the UNSC)

  • @123GOHANZ ..if you are intrested read the metroid E-manga ...

samus was trained at the age of 3..got infused with chozo DNA in order to survive on their homeplanet which had a gravity of 800+ G

that made her faster, stronger, more agile..and she herself showed a high grade of inteligence she build her own hunterclassship f.e. also is very disciplined

and concentrated which is nessesary to even operate the armor well

if confronted with fear the suit disappears (other m ridleyclip)>>

  • My hats off to you galestin. Youre pretty well read. I still find the bullshit physics and tech development to be a bit detering, but i am a fan of it either way. I will always be a die-hard halo fan though. Honestly, i just find the flood a whole hell of a lot more horrifying asthetically than any other parasitic creature. My personal opinion, i dont expect agreement.

  • Lol, shit. Looks like i need the new halo books after all.

  • Also, the flood didnt evolve at all. They were forced in a hybernation of over 80,000 years. The forunner incident was 100,000 years before the first halo was discovered by second generation humans. I say that because the forunner were human.

  • yes they did evolve, Halo Cryptum covered that, for the longest time they did not have a Gravemind figure, it was something they developed once they learned they could amass the intelligence of those they infect. and they were not forced into hibernation, the flood found on the delta halo was captured specimens, active flood were wiped out.

The Forerunner and Humans within the Novel Cryptom were separate races, humans being a race that lost to the forerunner in an galactic war with each other.

  • that isn't to say that there isn't the possibility the Forerunner and Human are still un-related.

but the Forerunner beat down the humans and de-evolved them.

what else is to be known is that the book also hints too that the people that came before the forerunners, the Precursors, made both them AND the humans, and possibly what is the telepath (and possible precursor that became what we know today as Gravemind.

  • @galestin the problem with your theory about them escaping the bombardment is that the covis typically glass the entire planet. Not just one or two sections. Earth and Reach were the only exceptions to this. However, 75% of Reach was glassed out of spite. The game was stupid because the Spartan 3 project was on the opposite side of the galaxy, on a forunner shield world.

  • And glassing an entire planet takes hours, it isn't a quick process, sure anything caught in it's immediately path is instantly immolated. it's a raking process, they'd need a LOT of ships too cover enough area so the X don't have room to retreat

in raw X form they move extremely swiftly in their flight, and given their size a single colony of them could easily slick by un-noticed.

flight is a grave advantage they have over the flood, it alone grants them incredible mobility over any flood form.

  • Master Chief is Solid Snake! Post this to all the MasterChief+Samus videos you see to reveal the secret!

  • Comment removed

  • As for the flood, there is no parasite more horrendous or horrifying. ANYTHING organic they can infect and control. So, no matter what you say, i will always think the flood are the worst possible fate to befall anyone.

  • Correction.

Within the Halo universe, there is no parasite more horrendous.

ANYTHING organic the X-parasite can control/copy/multiply, and unlike the flood, they cannot be killed or by common arms, including plasma weapons.

they do everything the Flood can and more.

  • @galestin ERRRRRR WRONG

Ok the X are pretty scary. They actually do less than the flood, however, and here's why:

1.It's true you can kill the flood individual forms with small arms, but you cant kill individual flood supercells or spores without maybe a flamethrower. These flood supercells however will spread like wildfire before you can even say "Flame on" and set them on fire. So the only way to kill them is with Glassing tecniques used by the Elites in Halo 3.

  • 1: if all it takes is a flame thrower or super heated plasma to down the flod, then the X-parasites are more durable.

X-parasites can live comfortably in lava, and plasma weapons do at best slow them down. even miniature nukes generating temperatures that could instantly vaporize a person cannot kill a free floating X-parasite colony, just it's body temporarily.

the X also spread rapidly. with minutes of access to even a half dozen new specimens they can occupy a city sized area.

  • Let's put it this way.

a man in an enviormental suit takes a flamethrower to a flood, the man can reduce the flood form into a pool of melted flesh, and the suit protects him from spores, he then turns his flamethrower too an X-clone, the body turns too melted flesh too (assuming the copied being isn't extremely resistant too super high temperatures).the X cells become free of their cloned body, and no form of man portable weaonry, even Samus' superior weapons, cannot kill free floating X cells.

  • this gives the X cells infinite amount of tries to to either infect the man in the suit (with a possibility of success), or reform it's lost body (or another body it has the DNA for, or combine the DNA to make a superior creature) and attack again with NO limit as too how many times it can reform it's destroyed body.

long story short, the X are harder too kill, do the memory/intelligence gathering thing, reproduce faster than flood when without hosts, and would be MUCH stealthier.

  • @galestin Huh guess you're right... keep in mind though a flood infestation the size of a Covenant Frigate was so dangerous the Elites were forced to glass the entirety of New Mombasa off the Earth in order to save it... imagine how inefficient that is. I guess the fact that Halo can effectively starve the flood kinda makes them less dangerous... at the cost of all sentient life in the galaxy. But the X were eventually destroyed right?

  • "Glassing" would be less effective against the X if they were in the same situation, because even after it's done, if some X escaped (as they can fly fairly fast, wouldn't be hard to comprihend many would be gone from the point of impact much before teh cruiser got there)

and the escaped X can look perfectly like what ever they infect.

they catch a few humans, enter another city, and no one would know till it's too late.

  • Yes the X were killed off.

Unlike the flood who had the freedom to evolve for tens of thousands of years before, and were re-released (more than once at that) into a situation they quickly got the upper hand of, getting access to space fairing vehicles, dominance over a wide area, and nothing immume to them (save for Johnson XP).

The X was confined to 2 places with no means to leave. and one of these places, a space station, was the means that destroyed the other place, the origin planet.

  • @galestin was the planet they were on completely destroyed with the impact of the lab? ... cause if it didn´t there may have survive a few x

  • not so much the impact of the research station, so much the detonation of the stations self destruct Samus set before leaving and altering it's course. the blast encompassed the entire planet, destroying it.

personnelly it's beyond me as to why a station has such a LARGE self destruct feature.

  • @galestin

come on, metroid universe loves overkill. they use terrawatt level of weapons and multiple missles as door openors (god knows what they use as doorbells)

  • @galestin

2.X parasites have a natural predator, the Metroids. any "Predator" that tries to eat a flood form will immediately be infested and assimilated.

3.I think the fact that activating a pulse superweapon that destroys all sentient life is the only way to defeat the flood completely (Glassing is only a small-area solution) proves how dangerous they are. It doesn't even kill the flood itself, It only kills Graveminds and the Flood's food source, sentient life.

  • 2: "natural preditor" is incorrect. Metroids are an artificial creature designed with the purpose of being immune and devouring the X. are an energy based life form that consume the life energy of anything within it's maw, or body. this "life energy" consumption is what made them entirely immune to the X.

by this notion, any flood infection forms or spores would die as their life force would be eaten by metroids.

  • 3: the pulse generators of also effect the flood themselves. they reason it's believed it would "starve" the flood to death is because if more flood came from outside the galaxy, they'd have no food.

this is obvious within with Halo legends: Origins, as it shows flood biomass that encompass massive ships being "melted" away by the wave.

and besides, so far the minimum known force to kill any X-parasite that isn't a metroid devouring it's life energy? was a blast that took out an entire planet.

  • Lol alright. Shit, calm down guys. I admit my defeat. I still personally prefer MC. Samus is a total badass, i just like MC a bit more.

  • @Ulkier chief is not bad sure he has it good sites ... but the hype about him is what pisses me of the most ...

how bout alcatras from crisis 2 or adam jensen from deus ex revolution ... those are intresting charackters too

  • The plasma weapons that fire bolts of plasma super heated enough to even turn the hulk into a charred ruin. This includes ship based weapons, which he has used before. They may not have penetrating power, but theyll reduce anything to molten slag or a ruined mess of scorched meat and bone.

  • Yes, plasma weapons from Halo hit about 3000 degrees on the low end for their infantry weapons.

however, plasma is a common weapon type in the metroid universe too, even the humans have them on infantry level ('cept they've also got plasma with EXTREMELY HIGH penetrating power).

Samus has fought enemies capable of BREATHING large amounts of it at her, with enough explosive force to level building, tanks, or even pick Samus up and punch her through a thick stone wall.

  • I've read half a dozen halo book, Chief's never used ship mounted weapons before.

Cortana has, he's had Orbital assistance before, or been present during the use of, but I never recall him manning such large weapon. but the biggest ship mounted weapon he used was a gauss cannon the size of a motor bike (in Halo legends: the Package).

  • You guys have to remember that Halo is over 500 years in the future. None of us have any clue how powerful the weapons in halo are. As for the flood, they can infest anything organic, take its knowledge, obsorb its abilities, etc. whatever its host was capable of, that flood form now has access too. Any powers, or anything of the like, now becomes useable by any flood host thats similar. Master Chief has access to all of Halo's arsenal, including the plasma weapons. Which are far more potent.

  • @Ulkier

Actually thanks to Bungie, we do have figures on how powrfull some of the weapons are, including some of hte covenant weaponry.

  • and in Metroid even the Humans are more advanced than the covenant, and we don't know when their timeline is, it runs off it's own calender.

Bungie actually has articles about plasma Pistols and Rifles that give you the voltage and ampere. which allows you to calculate the power output of their covenant infantry weapons.

which is, btw, 45000 watts per plasma bolt

metroid has weapons that generate 1'000'000'000'000 per bolt as "Weak" weapons.

  • The X-parasites also do the same thing.

they take what every the host knows and is capable of and perfectly copies them. difference is the flood can only get one body per host, a X can multiply and reproduce the copied body given enough time, or even combine the abilities of different hosts to create a superior creature from the strengths of both.

A flood Copies an Elite, and you have 1 flood Elite till he infects more elites

a X-parasite infects only one Elite, hours later that one because 100

  • He doesn't actually have access to Plasma weapons. he has access too what ever the UNSC issues him (which is their own weapons) and what ever he finds.

if there are no covenant to pilfer plasma weapons from, he will not have any plasma weapons.

the UNSC is still only in the prototype phase with plasma weapons, and the only existing ones are ship mounted on a select few ships.

and even so, they may be more potent than UNSC weapons, however they won't be able too kill X-parasite cells.

  • @MrTBSC yes he does beat iron man. Iron man is a normal human. He has no genetic augmenting, his suit is flimsy compared to MCs MJOLNIR armor, and he doesnt have energy shields. A single sniper round from halo could down Iron man. Hes just a nomal person. Also, before you try to argue, learn to spell. You horrid spelling is fail. Physics not physiks. Jesus. Learn to spell. Also, reguarding the flood. Any knowledge you have when they take you over, is theres. They know everything you did.

  • @Ulkier

Wait wait wait...you think Iron Man can lose that fight? Iron Man who can lift 100 tons, who can fly at Mach 8 speeds, who can take hits from gods, The Hulk ,superhumans etc? The same Iron Man that can take EMPs, bullets, and can blast lasers with mountain-busting power? That Iron Man?

  • Also, Flood taking the memories of their hosts?

X-parasite and the Ing do that too.

but the X can spread faster, and the Ing can "infect" machines too.

  • Unforetunately, I'm incline to disagree. while Tony is just a Human, the Iron Man armor provides a strength boost that puts it well beyond a Spartan even while in a MJOLNIR, the damn the can fly AND carry a plane while doing it.

pending on the model, the Iron man armor DOES have shields. but within the comics even the base model has a "bubble shield" generator.

there's a number of weapons that Iron man carries on him that could very well take out a spartan in a single hit too.

  • @Ulkier .... try stark with bleeding edge and technopathy ( that would be a bitch to fight even for samus) and then talk to me again ...

master chief is at best able to fight with the likes of predators (don´t underestimate those) ... but guys like samus or ironman are WAAAAYY over his league ....

  • Well, I guess we know who would win in that contest at 0:50

  • i love both BUT.... the chief is sooooomuch cooler

  • Please dont take the flood lightly, seeing as how they drove a species that was so advanced that they literally created worlds on a whim, to utter extinction. They even raided and infested their most fortified worlds.

  • The Flood are dangerous, do not get me wrong.

If I had to chose to face the X-parasites or the Flood? I'd chose the X-parasites. at least they have the dignity to kill you. the flood take over your body and your still alive for the entire event, till your head gets blown from the body, you may be totally aware that your forced to hunt down your friends and kill them against your will.

while the X are a potentially more powerful parasite, the Flood is a worse fate to have to deal with.

  • Either way*

  • Ok, youve got some very valid points. Either, seeing as how shes human MC would have no reason to attack her with the flood threat and all.

  • Oh, and seeing as how the Master Chief actually makes sense, chief wins. Supersonic speed = organs and bone structure turned to mush after prolonged exposure. Also, how does she keep up with her suits movement speed? Her suit would rip her apart. She is just human. She may have combat training, but that dont mean shit when real physics kick in. Her suit moving that fast will, without a doubt mulch her.

  • Respond to this video...

  • you've got the logic backwards.

Because he makes more sense and is a more plausable to exist character is what makes him weaker than Samus.

she has many aspects he has, super human strength, speed, reflexes durability, possible latent, minor psychic abilities, all because of her Chozo DNA infusion.

  • Also, another thing. An explosion has no where as much punch as a sniper round from halo. An explosion is an aoe thing, not concentrated force. That sniper can punch.straight through the armor plating of the scorpion tank and possibly most of the way through the tank itself. That tank weighs almost 70 tons. Thats a fuck ton of armor.

  • Your Logic of the Sniper instantly taking Samus out is not as applicical as you think.

sure it penetrates material with ease, but a strong enough shield can even deflect multiple rounds within the Halo universe.

Samus' shield being many times stronger than that even of the highest Ranking Elite, I wouldn't be suprised if she could survive several to the head.

More so, if she activates the screw attack or speed booster, the round would be destroyed on contact with the armor.

  • @Ulkier "An explosion has no where as much punch as a sniper round"

which means shit against shilding that is able to survive a mininuke explosion at point blank range

dude forget physiks in a universe based on fantasytech (not realy scy fy) and part magic

because if you use hard physiks it would be imposible to fly faster then light for a human ... which i realy think is impossible ... at least very very very etc. unlikely

  • @MrTBSC seriously? Are you that dull when it comes to physics? The Master Chief is far stronger and faster than Samus. He is a genetically enhanced super soldier, further increased by his armor. He has the strength to lift, and throw a fucking truck should it be necessary. Now, i dont know about you, but i think the concussive force from a lightning fast truck impact, master chiefs punch, would potentially kill her without having to break her armor. A spartan can survive atmospheric re-entry

  • Stronger is debatable.

we've yet too see or here the limit of Samus' strength. we already know she can out jump a spartan without her armor.

strength to lift a truck? enemies that could throw her 136 ton gunship has the hardest time just trying to dent her armor.

Samus has faced and survived blows from physically superior creatures.

and seeing as your already aware of her able to go super sonic, then you already know he's not faster.
