I think that Spain was a more JUST ruler, in at least by allowing the native peoples to EXIST amongst them. The English always promoted a system of racial segregation. The French and Indian wars... North American natives fought wars with each other, enslaved each other, fought on both sides of the American Revolution and also fought on both sides of the War Between the States.

If there were 25 million natives in what is now the US & Canada in 1600, but there are only 5 million today, then what happened to the missing 20 million natives?
Say what you will about Spain and it's colonial economy, at least the Spanish didn't follow a policy of extermination towards the natives. The fact is that English settlement patterns did not tolerate the presence of the natives, and as a result they were continuously pushed off of their land and starved.

Likewise, the 5-6 million figure for North America is also as commonly understood and requires no reference.
As for the North American genocide of 20 million natives, that figure comes from anthropologists estimating population density at the start of the 17th century.

Actually, the majority of the signers were born in America, which would make them Americans. They were colonies of England at the time, but once they signed the Declaration, that pretty much ended whatever English citizenship. They decided for themselves they weren't going to be subject to England or your crown.

Thanks for the comment. I have never voted for Labour I was never fooled by their rhetoric. I used to vote for the Conservative party but under their current leadership (David Cameron) they're little better then Labour. Which is why I now support the British National Party who represent the true British people. We have a EU election in June and the BNP are set to do very well, and at our next general election we are looking like we may get our first MPs elected, things are definitely changing.
