He was on the short list for Clemson's new head coach job. Don't know what the status is right now. I'd really hate to see him leave VT but I wouldn't be pissed about it. He deserves it.
i think they've pretty much told him that he's going to be tech's coach when beamer retires. and i don't think he really wants to leave because he and beamer are great friends and his family loves blacksburg. so i'd be very surprised to see him leave tech

Keep saying that. Keep in mind that nobody, including several VT fans believed that they would have made it this far. The more people doubt Tech, the more Tech surprises people. You would think they would have more respect after an impressive showing but I guess not. And Cincinnati was not a high school team. (continued) They have played Texas and won 28 to 10 (1995 Sugar Bowl). I don't know about Florida but VT can beat them. They gave USC fits in 2004, who was the #1 team in the nation the whole season. There was a bad call that you have to admit had a hand in the result of the game though USC was clearly the better team. LSU did dominate VT in 07 but what about VT doing that in 02? Those are all good teams but so is VT. And don't you think for one minute that VT cannot beat either team.
