  • You're a wizard, Harry.... A guitar wizard.

  • hey man, thanks for the vid, can you please explain to me how the pickup switching and the whole thing works? what is out of phase?

  • nice version of lenny

  • Harry potter?

  • That is without a doubt, the nicest sounding review of the Mustang that Ive heard so far!!! Very good job young man!

  • where's the tremolo arm?? does it come with it when you buy it, or do you need to buy it separately??

  • Did anyone else notice the song by Modest Mouse at the end?

  • @soyellowsoviolent haha yeah man. perfect disguise:p

  • harry potter playing guitar.

  • was the last song you played a modest mouse song? it sure sounded like one.

  • Nice sound and great looking guitar/colour. Mostly, I like the reasonable sensible demo and that there's nothing obnoxious or boisterous about you. Too many demo videos look like people are trying to show off something they don't have available to them, if you know what I mean. :)

  • what does in Phase mean? :)

  • @Samwise7heBrave Out of phase having waveforms that are of the same frequency but do not pass through corresponding values at the same.

So Imagine an oval (). This is the wavelengths coming out of your guitar, known as in phase in phase. When It is put out of phase, the wavelengths make this kind of shape (( instead of a full ()

  • Crunch sample, possible ?

  • Where did you get those knobs?! So rad.

  • Please, show wiring lace sensor for mustang...

  • Should sound great with a chorus pedal

  • sweet harry potter can play :) jk sweet vid

  • the color is so wonderful.

  • wow elliott smith stupidity tries? i always hear some nirvana song lol elliott smith shall be missed sadly though.

  • Awesome to see a great CLEAN demo of a mustang.

  • can some please help me here? what does it mean by the pickups being in/out of phase?

  • Very nice guitar, and great playing. Very cool video!

  • that color is gorgeous! nice dem my friend

  • What was the song for the Neck&Bridge out of phase?

  • ONLY 2 PICKUPS

    thats not toooooooo good

  • @619aarneshrio what's wrong with just 2 pickups i never cared for the one in the middle anyway a bridge and neck pickup is all you need anyway

  • i like you cover of modest mouse what model is your mustang

  • Nice playing, nice sound.

  • Palming the bar- I do that too! Sounds great,. I have three 1964 ‘stangs myself.

  • well done, i would give my left nut for this guitar, its beautiful.... ill trade you a custom built ric , if interested

  • what was the tird song? that one for the neck and bridge out of phase?

  • I love my Musty :)

  • Nice Modest Mouse.

  • u can see his face if u look in the mirror

  • @NiCkSpAgE96 no durr

  • tooooooooooooooooooooone~~~ (:

  • that twin reverb sounds so nicely compressed maybe its just me

  • ur a good player

  • what does "out of phase" mean?

  • @PAULisDEADMANnumber9 out of phase means the treble strings get more of the low end sound, while the thicker strings get a trebly sound.

  • wow that was beautiful man. nice tone

  • dude can you write the names of all the songs you played in this video plz ?

  • what kind of pickups are those?

  • i was gonna buy one of the these about two and a half years ago but got a tele deluxe, figured i already had one single coil guitar so get the tele. now i really wished i wouldve gotten the mustang there too expensive now!!

  • nice playing, sick guitar. did i hear modest mouse in there? off of the moon and antarctica?

  • perfect disguise sounded awesome

  • great

  • The guitarist from Crystal Antlers has a similar looking Mustang.

  • that guitar is absolutely beautiful.

  • Which string gauge do you have on it? Thanks and great playing!

  • you lucky bastard :)

  • excellent demo thanks... I hate when they use distortion or chorus which hides the true sound.. TY again!

  • i love it=].

  • sounds sweet! =D

  • HA HA I CAN SEE YOU IN THE MIRROR!

Oh yea the gold sounds nice and the red mixes well with it....but the red by itself is kinda dull and sterile.

Maybe get a Duncan hot rails if you want something quiet and good at the bridge...you can tap it too.

  • Nice tone I have similar pickup configuration in my mustang. Only the Gold seems to squeal, do you have that problem?

  • wow Modest Mouse and Elliott Smith, great demo

  • you got 11's on that?

  • lol i liked the Modest Mouse at the end

  • mine was the sonic blue

stock pick up were really low output

  • WOW! WHAT A GUITAR, what a sound) tasty playing man.

  • NEED A MUSTANG

  • what was the second song - the one for the neck and bridge in phase.

  • Elliott Smith - Stupidity Tries

  • Thanks. It's really beautiful.

  • @willcm8 Good choice. :]

  • @willcm8

    And the 3.? :) thanks

  • @willcm8

    And the 3.? :) thanks

  • @willcm8

    And the 3.?:) thanks

  • @fuck3boom What was the name of the first song you played ? Iv heard it before sounds nice!

  • excellent sounding setup there. pretty much nailed the modest mouse tone too at the end.

  • Your playing is mellow and best describes the different pickup settings. Nice demo!

  • Beautiful guitar and good playing!

  • love this guitar

  • mustang - dream guitar

    twin reverb - dream amp

    lucky lucky guy :)

  • I like the guitar and the stuff you're playing. It suits the guitar.

  • very nice guitar . in my opinion this is better of the jazzmaster or jaguar

  • Don't apologize about your playing, you have a nice feeling and you are a good guitarist ! Remember there are so many guys who plays horrible things (and out of tune) on youtube who never apologize ! So your video is a pleasure to listen to ! have a nice day !

  • wow a positive and courteous youtube comment! its been awhile since i've seen one of those

  • Shit doesn't have to happen all the time... ! And as Gandhi said "Be the change you wish to see".

  • beautiful instrument i like your playing style too kudos :)

  • what amp are you using?

  • great guitar....

  • awesome color

  • I like the first thing he played.....really mello sounding.....great tone

  • Thanks for a CLEAN demo :) too many people think using distortion helps showing you the real sound..... TY again

  • that song you played at :29 sounded like a hawaiian song. sorry if I'm a complete dumbass and i should know that song or something but it does sound hawaiian either way.

  • sounds beautiful, is there anyway to lock the tremolo or what id like to know is how does it hold tune with no tremolo arm in there???

  • I love it !

  • i think the yellow would look really nice just with a white pickguard but its yur guitar

  • To be honest, the fender mustangs made after 1965 suck ass!!!! They started contouring the body like most strats and switching from student size to a full 24 scale guitar. Other than the competition series made in 69, the older mustang rules.

  • the mustang was introduced in 64. so you're honestly going to tell me the only mustangs that are decent are the ones made within that year/year and a half limit? you can't make a generalization about every guitar made.

  • to terrorjism: the Fender mustang was introduced by fender in "1966" not 64. You will "never" find a neck date code before 1966

  • look it up. it was introduced in 1964 as a redisgned musicman/duo sonic. you're probably right about never being able to find a neck dated before 66, because all of those are hidden in the depths. or buried in a landfill.

  • Correcting you a bit:

The mustang was the top guitar in the beginners series consisting of Musicmaster and Duo-Sonic. The difference is that it has a vibrato. It was introduced in late -64, and some say early -65.

  • the reissues r short scale and are made great and have offset bodies

  • As did the originals...

  • yea sombody woundered if the reissues did 2 tho so i told them

  • Comment removed

  • why do people keep dogging the yellow, that thing looks unique and awesome

  • @JonnyCapricorn Right, its beautiful :P

  • im about to get a '73 twin reverb, and i have a competition reissue stang so i should a lot this and this sounds beautiful.

  • Gr8 playing, does ny1 know what songs these are please?

  • mostly lenny

  • That, and a Modest Mouse song at the end.

  • dont like the yellow but nice playing

  • would u recommend getting the fender mustang 65 reissue?? and install the same pikcups as urs?

  • i would say mustang + twin reverb + sansamp= power?

  • I usually don't like yellow finishes but it works quite well for the Mustang. Also, I like the sound of the bridge pickup + both pickups, out of phase.

  • Nice job

  • but nothing sounds sweeter than a fender clean...i just prefer my jem for the heavy stuff

  • very nice

  • excellent tone. What gauges are your strings?

  • modest mouse at the end. seriously beautiful

  • MODEST MOUSE

  • nice little demo buddy! Sweet to see someone playing a Mustang clean instead of all distorted out like Nirvana (you can get that Kirt sound with any guitar. It's all about the Amp and pedals he used, not the Mustang). Dig the little Modest Mouse at the end.....good job (and good taste)!~

  • great playin dude

i love this guitar. i'm probably gonna get one of these next time i decide to buy

  • mustang + twin reverb = perfect combo. very nice demo.

  • Really great playing !!! very tasteful ...

But beware: Lace sensors do not sound 100% as a single coil PU (i had Gold Lace Sensors in my Strat) ... you have to pay the price for having noisless PUs ;)

  • nice tone, dig it!

  • That's my dream guitar. I really want a Mustang with Lace Sensors. I'm thinking a Purple in the neck and a Blue in the bridge, I've been really into that combination, don't know why. I'm getting some Lace for my tele, but someday I'll get a Mustang... someday.

  • sweet guitar man, cant say i like the pickups though,to smooth for my liking ;)

  • I dig this sound

  • Once again, awesome I liked the Modest Mouse.. and did I hear a little M. Ward maybe?

  • smooth man

    keep it real =]

    peace

  • nice playin man

i got a jag stang and the neck pick up sound is pretty much the same

    i love it

  • LENNY!! i love playing that song bro

  • the mustang is my favourite fender of all time! ... im not just saying it ... i WANT ONE!

  • That is some fucking delicious tone.

  • NICE MODEST MOUSE!

  • Fuck yeah! Perfect Disguise! I play that on my Mustang all the time.

  • i prefer mustangs than jaguars.

  • me too

  • Dude, nothing beats two lace sensors clean... Especially considering the jagstang's Super Distortion humbucker is very muddy. Kurt even hated it.

  • Amazing sound with amazing guitar...

  • what a sweet tone!! im jealous wanna trade for my mexi tele? lol..

  • Excellent demo, well played and recorded.

  • great !

  • PLAY SOME JAZZ

  • definantly. More GRUNGE!

  • That's my dream tone right there.

This has inspired me to get a Mustang. Thank you, sir.

  • I Like Jaguars More Than Mustangs.

  • idk... i like the mustangs better than jaguar.. The jagstangs are ok but...mustaqng is the best!

  • Playing Lenny on a Mustang. Dude, that's awesome!

  • CONGRULATION'S !!!

  • Hi , i was planning to change pickups on my 65 RI japanese but i want to keep the sound of the mustang , does the lace sensors doesn't make the mustang sound like a strat ?

  • Comment removed

  • luv the way your ax sounds with the laces (and that twin reverb). i truly believe the pickups and the combinations' u dialed in match each song u was playin there. actually i was thinking of putting a hum in the bridge of my 65 re-ish (yeh i know..like that guy from nirvana's..) but i think u may have won my mind over in going with the laces which i forgot were on the market! that way, to hell with the endless hunting for a mustang humguard! that ax (and that amp) sounds sweet as a dove! wicked!

  • Comment removed

  • whats the name of the song that starts on 0:24 ?

  • Awesome christal clear sound

  • i was wondering if its possible to use the pups froma jag on a normal 3 single strat and if so what would one put for the middle pick up would any single coil pup be good to use

  • hey i have a question about the gold lace sensor

    does it sound smooth distorted?

cuz iff not then ill go ahead and put a blue lace in the neck

  • Love the smooth, jazzy sound.

  • very nice

  • nice demo

  • ok I have a nov. 1964 mustang, a gift to me in 1982 I've never really liked it, I like a les paul maybe I'll post it.

  • take off the neck on the end of the neck it should say the year of production,

  • hey man i litteraly just bought my 'stang today and had one question. I think the guy at the store said it was a '69 but now im second guessing myself. It says "crafted in Japan" at the back and has the "(R)" logo beside the Fender logo on the headstock. Could you help me out?

  • He probably meant '69 reissue mustang', those are still made in Japan. Meaning it's a recent guitar and not an original 69 mustang.

Still a good guitar though :)

  • ok thanks :)

  • You demo'd the hell out of that!

By the way, I found a big music store in Pennsylvania that was selling it for like $559. I really wish I remembered it because I'm trying not to spend $700.

  • what strings have you got on there?

  • Great tone! I play a vintage '66 mustang through a mid-70's silverface twin and was wondering what your amp's EQ settings were?

  • tmb 5, volume 3, reverb 3

  • did R.H.C.P guitarist play under the bridge on this??

  • I think that was a jag but im not sure

  • His name is John Frusciante, and i don't know. I would have guessed he played it on a strat but then again, your guess is as good as mine.

  • it was a jaguar i discovered. sounds buff

  • a gorgeous jag...turquoise in the vid!
