My question is, why did you open him where you did and not lower so the pus and blood would naturally have to drain and not be helped out of his neck by you? I am not insulting you in any way, I am trying to understand why abcesses are lanced where the vet lances them.
poor horse! At least the guy wears gloves! I've seen people doing this without gloves.. That,s just discusting and stupid... Might cause infections to the horse...
I'm very glad I found your channel. It's extremely interesting. I always thought I had a pretty strong stomach for blood and guts, but wow, that was an awful lot of pus. I'm glad that the horse seemed to be doing much better after the surgery though.
Wow, that poor thing. It must have felt like a million bucks after that. I did notice some gurgling in the horses respiration, even after the lancing. Did this horse have any underlying respiratory issues?

@slapurmommaz wouldn't it make sense that the windpipe would still have some pressure on it because of swelling from the infection? I'm not sure.
