You are definitely not on your own!!!! I have always thought this was one of the most awesome albums ever recorded and underrated as far as Thin Lizzy was concerned....
WOw yes i really love this album too. So raw and Phil's voice was great such a wamth to this album you can almost hear them fart on some of the tracks.
No, you are not alone. I have heard almost all of Thin Lizzy's albums and I have never enjoyed any one other than their first so much. This is truly their best work.
Nope, you aren't on your own. Thin Lizzy was much more interesting and creative in this era. Eric Bell really brought out the mystery and feeling out of Phil's lyrics. This is band at its most genuine. After Eric left, Phil dumbed the band down. They lost the musical spark.
Eric Bell in Thin Lizzy = EPIC
Thin Lizzy without Eric Bell = Dumbed down corporate rock with only brief flashes of its former brilliance.
@zoso8t0--That kinda explains why every Thin Lizzy album other than this one is not that great (in comparison to this.) It's a shame that no hits came out of this album.
Heroin is such a bloody waste of space, took the life of a good friend of mine too. Wasted talent with PL. Even his poor mother didn't know his addiction until he was so ill he couldn't get from bed to spend Xmas Day with his children, it cost him his marriage and I think he truly loved his wife. He died sad and lonely from vital organ failure. RIP PL.
No wormplano you're not on your own. This is one amazing album. Lizzy's first 3 albums are on a whole 'nuther level than their more famous mainstream hard rock albums - my favorites.
i just strtd listenin to this band i knew if i would hav checkd out their earliest stuff id like it...and i do...and i have to say I love that album cover, almost as much as Jazz (Queen) trippy stuff :P
Brings back memories of seeing them live (before Whisky in the Jar). I still have the first two albums signed by the band. They even gave me a lift home from one of heir gigs. Thanks for posting this. Yes It IS an excellent song from an excellent album. My favourite too!
Wow a lift home? You're joking?? I know you're not but for all the younger Lizzy fans what was that like? What did you talk about in the car? Incredible!
Well. It was a long time ago and most of the conversation was about how to find the motorway after dropping me off (we were in Glasgow). There was also talk about Phil's platform shoes (the very ones with the stars on that he's wearing in the pic on your user page, sbyrne)
Amazing! Thanks so much for sharing that private exprience. It's nice to get any stories from fans but I would have died to be in that car with ya that night. Its so hard to find any fans that saw them pre-whisky in jar. But thats my most fave era, so exciting! Thanks alex again much appreciated
this diddy levine song is his best one combines 3 songs in one and makes it brilliant this is the most underrated song ever

Couldn't agree more. First 3 albums a different league to what followed - this one the best. Eric Bell badly missed.
