we're going down to Liverpool to watch the might Red men stuff the Mancs all the days of our life ! grate tune ..song about Liverpool in the 80's at the hands of Thatchers Con party who almost closed Liverpool with jobs being taken down South as part of their policy to make the South the hub for work ..she hated us really hated us ..the city just gets better one day she won't be here but Liverpool will !!
@motownmaniax I think Go Go fans might disagree, but then, I loved both bands! And, one of the musicians would play in the other group when a vacancy needed to be filled--so these great groups have close ties! This was a fun time in music, like the 70's were! Sincerely, BobbyK
Love this version as well as Katrina and the Waves. Kimberly Rew of the Waves wrote a killer tune for all these fine ladies! Gotta love Nimoy's reactions...
The vocals and harmonies in this are gorgeous. All Over the Place is easily their best album (in my opinion). And no, pop/rock groups couldn't sound like this even if they wanted as producers wouldn't let them. Money, money, money, autotune, autotune, autotune. The glory days of pop songs like this are looong gone. x
@z00press : you missed out on the "MTV" generation, obviously. While this wasn't a single release, it was in common rotation on MTV and VH1 (when they actually played music) - hence, you might not ever hear it on the radio unless you're a dedicated fan and know where to listen. Too bad - compared to today's senseless crap and talentless 'artists', this was an aural orgasm. Pity no one can make music like this today.
The Bangles sing like they know what this song is about more than Katrina Leskanich did. An unemployment form is an unemployment form wherever you are.
@mistofoles : as the story goes, Mr. Nimoy was a friend of the Bangles' father and they thought it would be a 'kick' to have him in one of their videos. Here it is! Ah, the 80's.
I love this group and their music. They were so fantastic in the 80's. They are so talented. Not to mention thre so hott especially suzanna hoffs.. This song just makes me wanna dance..
heard this on the radio yesterday and had to look up the video. Such an underrated group with distinct harmonizing. The harmonizing girl groups have all become extinct-a thing of the past. Such beautiful haromonies on this record. Coming from four girls who answered an wanted ad in a Los Angeles newspaper who did not know eachother at all. As unmanufactured as unmanufactured can get.
Poor old Leonard - its like a Barnsley hen night, he'll be cleaning vomit off the back seat by midnight.

I've heard the story differently -- I heard that Leonard's son Adam Nimoy was a friend of one of the Bangles from their college days.

I had never seen or heard this video before until today.
Now I know why.
Spock did the right thing and drove it straight to hell.

@mistofoles Spock is totally dumbfounded as it is totolly illogical that 4 beautiful women are having fun doing nothing on their way to Liverpool.

Yeah... maybe I'll just do that... go down to Liverpool and do nothing all the days of my life. :) Sounds like a brilliant idea...
Never noticed before how Nimoy resembles Charles Bronson.
It seems he's kind of being hijacked in this video, by a couple of sexually very aggressive women.
He could also be their pimp... I'm not sure.
