man i did boxing for 3 year only had 1 fight , i also done muay thai for 9 month , im dien to get back into the fights and gym and stuff keep up the vids they help alot !!
swimming is like runing only you dont get to breath, so after a few years swimming mad laps every day and doing the mma traing when you get in the ring, you will last where others fail, youll be at the end of round 3 in better shape then the other guy in the 1st few sec of round 1, you ever see in the ufc 2 guys are about = but in the end the guy with more gas left wins kinda deal, that will never happen to you if you swim every day
wish I wasnt a smoker, I got the speed and bult to own people in my weight class, I have the hart too, I dont have any training but I could go learn that, or had been learning that the last 10 years, but I been a smoker and have no stam :( Ill own 99 guys out of 100 first 1 min then I cant breath and will lose if your still standing kinda thing....... If you realy wana be a fighter dont smoke and take swimming as well, swimming will give you the best stam ever!!!
@fighttipsvideos what do you think of mma my kru talks bout how they have horrible striking and that they are just tough street fighters, i see this sort of true considering i've watched my fair share of ufc and wec, and in term of a street fight situation what do you think is better muay thai or mma mma has ground fighting but lacks in speciliaztion in striking or ground fighting so you might not be good enough to slip or ocunter back punches
I haven't decided for sure if I want to make a career out of fighting, however I have decided that I want to take Kickboxing. Problem is I can't find a place that teaches it. Is there anyone who has any advice that would help?
Hey can you make a video on how to breathe while punching please?
I've seen your other videos and it seems as though your breathing out of your mouth and making a hissing kind of noise, and ive heard that you should always breathe out of your nose and always keep your mouth closed, can you clarify please?
@DrJuanDiaz u breathe through ur nose and keep ur mouth shut, bite down to keep from getting hit in the jaw and getting knocked out. the hissing noise u hear when the punch is thrown is when u explode with a breathe out from ur mouth for power, when u do this ur lips open a bit to let the air out but ur teeth stay together at all times creating the hissing noise, its lk making a"TS" noise when striking in general.
im not lookin to be in the ufc.... i just wanna fight someone when they start shit with me and not get beat down... i've only had 1 fight and i won it...
My amatuer thai fight was wierd, Then again I live in buffalo new work which is a fight city we hold the ny state golden gloves here.Anyways I had head gear and gloves but no chest protector, and was able to throw head kicks well me not my opponent. Still lost cause it took a wile to get out clinch, even tho i blocked all his knees and my stand up dominated his from experience from boxing, and I had far better kicks. My leg was messed up btw I could only throw 3 head kick attempts still it went bad
@kwonkicker Good post but He left out how IMPORTANT Getting a detailed record in amatuer boxing is,In Amateur boxing U want to have a established open amateur record to get payed and promoted, sponsored better, I mean at least win a state golden gloves, Win the national golden gloves or empire state and you set for a espn or HBO with a starting pay of 10,000contract,Win The olympics shit even make it into them and you set they really gona build you up.
@kwonkicker it is realy good to see two of the best youtube instructional fighters to comment each other. kwonkicker and my man in this video have taught me a lot of thing and i respectr them both.
You said boxing gyms are the cheapest. Judo is dirt cheap and usually even cheaper then boxing. It is part of the judo philosophy that you should try to maximize mutual benefit. Its part of the tradition that you dont get charged much when you are learning but when your able to teach you should not charge much. A lot of Judo dojo's only charge enough to pay for rent and electricity. I pay 8$ for 2 and a half hours of training with national competitors and 5th degree black belts.
@antonyneal we are talking about The american sport of boxing here. It's american tradition to over charge and make as much profit as possible off of anyone you can. since bjj and muay tai gyms in amercia are run by american people, weather they from other countries or not, they are still american and are trying to make a profit. We all have bills to pay.
good vid .. make sense ! btw , i want to ask you a question , my mom said to me that she wants to pay for an martial art fees .. now it's on me whether want to take muay thai or kick boxing .. can somebody tell me the pros and cons of these both martial art ? there's no MMA club in here =[
Kickboxing is a pretty general term there's Dutch kick boxing American kick boxing Japanese kick boxing ect. People even use kick boxing as a term for general stand up striking skills. The K1 organization mentioned is a Japanese kick boxing organization. So no one can tell you what the exact differences will be really it depends on what the gym teaches. I would just go to both once then work out which one you like and which one will try to get you into the ring and go with that.
I started missing around about 3 years ago with just boxing and stuff with friends I'm undefeated in school but I want to compete against trained fighters. I'm about 6 foot and I can fight in light - welt. You do get respect and stuff but I want to take the next step and find a real spot to help me. I live in Alabama and the closest places (MMA) is like a 3 hour drive away from me.I'm 18 so just train at home the best I can. I'm stuck what should I do? I wanna persue this dream!
There are no successful mixed martial artist's that made it big by just training at home that I know of. You need the support of a gym training partners and coach's to get good. If you are still in high school and you can not find a mma gym I would strongly recommend joining the wrestling team and one of the following gyms boxing muay thai kick boxing sanda savate or full contact karate and just join the closest cheapest one.
@MMAbadassbrett If you have time and money left after that look for a judo sambo catch wrestling or bjj gym and again just choose the closest and cheapest. Defiantly good luck with your dream man train hard.
Find a gym that has a team to train first and for most. They will help push you when preparing for a fight, but don't just join any gym. Go to the more well known gyms that produce really good local fighters if not famous ones that actually compete so you can get what a good training regime consist of.
Second- If you don't have one, get a manager and one that you know has the best intentions for you. Promoters deal with fighter's but you won't make as much or be taken as serious if you don't have a manager or at least making the good money... it was my biggest mistake trying be my own manager in my career.
3rd- Be involved in the community that you are competing in (MMA, Boxing, Kick Boxing, Muay thai, Grappling tournanments, etc) and get the fans to love you. Ticket sales means bigger fights, and allows you to negotiate more pay for your fights.
Those are probably the biggest things I think that are important to start... oh and start amateur if you can. It will make the biggest differnce in your career... Train your ass off and be humble when being taught.... there you go, my words of wisdom
@MMAbadassbrett i knew a group of friends who began their own league, they posted videos, events on facebook, etc. they were really organized and they were really popular, i don't know why they had to stop but it got them publicity, and their videos were getting many views, i remember seen an article in the local news paper saying 2 fighters were discovered over the internet from this mini leauge they may, so i think u should not make a leauge but make videos of you fighting - & getdiscovered!
@MMAbadassbrett look for a jui-jitsu club, that'll help you big time with submissions, also kick boxing will help you with the head kicks. Good luck man, and I hope to see you in the octagon some day
Thumbs up if this guy looks like Edge to you!
