And these women need to learn something they are going against our constitution and the memory of their children and all the others who have served

When someone calls you they cannot assume that is a good time for you, just say that 'now is not a good time'. Do not provide them a time to call you back, simply state that you will call them if you decide. If a young person wants to join the military they can go to the recruitment office. Joining the military, is in my opinion, the most unselfish thing a man or woman can do. They KNOW the consequences. I'm 15 and I'm trying to hint to my mom that I (as a U.S citizen) can create my own future. My mom likes the fact that I want to join the military. But I want to be a Marine. In order to be the best, you need to become the best. I wont settle for anything less than what my mind tells me I can accomplish. It's what I deserve. And what I deserve, Is to be a proud member of the USMC!

Moral of the story is that recruiters prey upon children whom are not taught how to say no. When someone calls you they cannot assume that is a good time for you, just say that 'now is not a good time'. Do not provide them a time to call you back, simply state that you will call them if you decide. If a young person wants to join the military they can go to the recruitment office. Recruiters are a disgrace to the concept of volunteer army. It is mostly desperate people who fill the ranks today!

You can hope it doesn't come to that but it's what you have to be prepared for. It is a tool they can use to elevate their position within the existing social structure. I am a former Marine, so I know the ins and outs of the real military life.

anyone who thinks joining the Service is bad is an idiot because if it were not for the US MILITARY they would not even be able to share there thought on issues or vote. and if your child truly wants to join (not for money) then they will regardless when they turn 18 anyway. Parents should be more worried about there kids joining gangs or smoking pot because joining the the service is an honorable thing and shows your child wants to be somebody.

As far as the recruiter in this video goes he should be ashamed of himself. We all know there are dirty recruiters out there but there are people in every job who do bad things. The last time I checked, the oath you take says, "Support and defend," not support and go to school. That's just an extra bonus you don't get from many civilian job

this video makes me sick. you people dont understand that these recruiters have JOBS, they are not tying you to a chair making you sign a contract. if you dont want to join dont give out info or even confront a recruiter! they wont bother you if you are honest, and say hey look i wanna go to college im not interested. understand our country is in a state of war and our country is need of men and women to serve our country so recruiters are trying harder then ever to find the right people.

In my opinion, its the recruiters job to recruit. So, whether they do it with the honor of a used car salesman or what they claim to stand by when speaking of their branch is no matter. All this "kill kill kill" looks bad, but is necessary to inhibit a soldier's mindset which is to kill an enemy.

However NOT to lose their humanity. The armed forces are in no way supposed to be light, for they are responsible for defending our counrty. Research as much as you can before you make the big decision of joining the military.But please dont join and then try and waterdown the necessary hard training to produce adequete defenders of our nation. Joining the military, is in my opinion, the most unselfish thing a man or woman can do. They KNOW the consequences. I'm 15 and I'm trying to hint to my mom that I (as a U.S citizen) can create my own future. My mom likes the fact that I want to join the military. But I want to be a Marine. In order to be the best, you need to become the best. I wont settle for anything less than what my mind tells me I can accomplish. It's what I deserve. And what I deserve, Is to be a proud member of the USMC!

Military service is voluntary, there is no draft. People who join the military do it because they choose to. The purpose of military recruiters are to keep military service voluntary.

im a Canadian soldier and we don't lie we tell them in basic and in the recruiting office that if they join you get paid you get benefits and you can possibly go to war and die its not a game, but the us knows they can't get people to join off of telling truth so anything they tell you don't believe them they are trained to lie.

I understand if your child is 17 but if their not and they are 18 and sign up then its THEIR decision. They are ADULTS and have to live their lives how they want to. Yes the military does provide a lot of aid for college and thats why a lot of people join. They join for the college money because their parents wont support them in college and dont want to have to take out college loans and I dont blame them. Who want to be in debt when you get out of college?

And when your 18 your an adult that was your decision made as a legal adult that you thought out. Yea its the military we dont sit around growing roses your gonna drill to kill.
