  • what the fuck hHAHAHHAHAHH

  • damn...u gotta practice ur scratches man

  • a mother fuckin scratch drum 111

  • quanto costa? lo spediscono in italia?

  • whatever happened to just going on the beach & enjoying it :-)

  • lool

  • Wack.

  • old v0.3 prototype...check the Scratchophone website

  • YO MAMA

  • lompppp

  • where can i bye one from? WOULD LOVE THIS? can you help?

  • wow, thats awesome!

  • I love the idea! I only have one peeve with scratching in general...

The clicking noise from the fader detracts from the scratch!

Eazy fix I'm sure... Either rubberize the fader's pin or the edges it strikes.

    Love it though, great job!

I'd like to see a model with wireless xmit to a mixer, or a laptop running a digital scratch app. No idea if the wireless connection would even work well with a digital scratching setup.

    AWESOME.

  • happy to see that someone reads my mind. I was thinking at this kind of design after i saw the qfo. great concept. i don't know how much precition you have on the fader and the record holding the instrument like that, tough. I hope to see a skratcher in a classic music orchestra soon :) how about making a horn to amplify the grooves on the record? and a crank to get the record spinning? is that posssible? :)

  • This is a great idea..

You should add transformer button like the one in my video titled"Different Scratch Tecnincs with Masta Hanksta"

    Also add internal ipod dock.

    just a couple of ideas

  • Scratchophone dot com freshly updated with some cool "how it's made" DIY pictures !!

  • man this is gay its called a qfo people!!!

  • this is not an qfo ... the scratchophone is a scratch instrument only: all in one (mixer, speakers and batteries), autonomous and truly portable, unlike the qfo :))

  • can i order one of these now?

  • no you can't order currently... prototyping work only. I expected to propose a first production batch soon, within 6 months. thanks for your interest in this project. Stay tuned on scratchophone dot com.----thierry

  • You and me... any street corner... I'll bring the tuba!

  • That's pretty cool! Is this "acoustic" or does it need to be amplified? Is there a built in speaker? I can't tell from the video. I can see this being used in conjunction with acoustic guitars. Nice work - a new twist on a old device!

  • it's amplified (6AA batteries) just enough to play with an acoustic guitar + built in speaker ... you can play anywhere, anytime, any style :))

  • meh there are already turntables similar to this

  • already similar turntables ??

the scratchophone is not a turntable: it's a scratch instrument only... no motor and skip proof scratch records only :))

  • does the record not pick up when you let it go then and what about a beat to scratch to, also whats the price looking to be at on this baby

  • yep ! Check the v0.8 demo video and the scratchophone website

  • Wow this is fantastic! Props!

  • Man, this is awesome.

  • Pretty cool I must say...

  • for updated infos, scratchophone dot com :))

  • haha nice "instrument" sure gave me and my buddy a laugh. Where is the holster for my fishing rod!

  • "doin real cutz" but exclusively at home and alone ... I suppose there's no way to move your expensive setup just for a simple music jam with friends ... I need to play with real musicians. I need a portable setup and the scratchophone concept is a "scratching only" instrument to be played as a solo percussive instrument amongst the others instrumentists.

It looks just perfect to explore new musical styles:))

  • lol, faaaaaggot . Why u try to scratch at the beach, i got my pdx at home and doin real cutz

  • good intrument to practice hand control;)

  • haha wow

  • hahahaha

  • more info at scratchophone dot com :))

  • sorry mate, I don't understand you... what is "crappy" ? the concept, the unfinished product or the scratch art itself ? try to explain us what exactly is your opinion... do u have any better solution ?

  • That's exactly what my grandfather says !

It's not finished (prototype v0.4) and we already have a lot of fun scratching with it, tweaking it, testing it etc.

Anyway, it's your absolut right to say what you really think about this scratch instrument project.

  • yes mate ! technicaly, it's a kind of regression (simple tangential tonearm etc.) but the concept is an innovation, at least for end users.( freedom to play anywhere anytime)

Instead of "stupid and retarded", I would say "simple, inexpensive and time-right".

I'll surely give up this project when this "instrumental practice" will have its own "instrumental unity" : a simple "scratch instrument".

  • on the other hand, this one has a built in speaker...not bad....the design can be better though

  • Absolutely mate ! I'm working on that ... It's just the prototype v0.4 :)) Every part may be optimized ... and the concept can now easily be improved ...

About the Qfo, wich is a real turntable, we can't really compare cause the Scratchophone is a scratch instrument ONLY: portable, all in one and autonomous.

The unique Scratchophone's possibilities create new usage's situations and propose benefits without any equivalent in the market: "to not being constraint anymore in a given space"

  • hmm...but i think the QFO already showed this one up

  • yes ! brazilians battucada style !

  • thats the future right there! id love to do street performance with 2 or 3 djs an percussion. left handed model please.

  • he's scratching on the beach to show that he's not "constraint anymore in a given space". That means playing scratch music, everywhere, anytime, with musicians, aliens and, of course, if it's your trip, flippers...

  • lol!!! who is he scratching for? flipper?

  • hahaha!! great instrument though. very funny!

  • scratchers need to interact a little bit more with others musicians ... playing at a campground is the n°1 objectif :))

  • I think it's kinda cool, but I sure as hell don't want to see these things showing up near me at a campground or something like that.

  • yes yes here the main instrument of this new decade

    check more at www.djorqe.fr

  • gay

  • Thanks m8 ! this prototype is far from perfect but it's coming :))

  • Keep up the good work. I would like to see a video of someone kutting to a beat, maybe with a line output???

    Killer..
