  • @dtyouthalive amen its embarrassing.

  • What the heck is all your problems? It's because of these stupid arguments that cause many people to revert and embrace Atheism. Don't you understand that the church arguing over each other over small idiosyncratic ideas is what turns many away from the light of Jesus. We are supposed to be the light upon the hill. We are supposed to be mirroring his image by loving and NOT by bickering amongst each other. Look, keep denominational issues to yourself and focus on spreading the Gospel of Jesus.

  • Making satire isn't a sin.

  • This guy is just like my college buddy Colin. This is funny.

  • Haha cool we're doing a Church Office series too! Come check it out!!!

  • do we really need poo jokes in a youth conference video? i'm sure that's what the Apostle Paul did at the Jerusalem conferences.

  • @sorenkierkegaard2008 jesusfreakrkg here... different username. I would LOVE to know the chapter and verse you have to support your "interesting" theories as to Jesus' amusement re: farting. You say that God and kid's humor is the same? hmm. I know YOUNG kids who would laugh at "boobs" or make fun of kids with disabilities. is this God's humor as well? what basis do you have for saying God's humor mirrors an immature sinner?

  • @sorenkierkegaard2008 I am aware God uses humor in the Bible. Paul says those w/ a false gospel should emasculate themselves! this was sarcastic humor to make a point of the seriousness of the gospel. no humor revolving around bowels are found or constipation are found in the Bible. now, you may get mad at me for saying that... but it is a fact: it isn't there. maybe that's enough for you... if you think the Bible isn't enough to draw in people to believe the gospel. maybe that's it.

  • @ryanthecalvinist And at noon Elijah mocked them, saying, "Cry aloud, for he is a god. Either he is musing, or he is relieving himself, or he is on a journey, or perhaps he is asleep and must be awakened." -1 Kings 18:27

As a biology student, I can't help but wonder if defecation and urination are God's humorous way of reminding us not to take ourselves so seriously. Children understand this. We should take Him very seriously, and learn to laugh at ourselves.

  • @sorenkierkegaard2008 you are putting your fart jokes on par with the inspired Word of God. The point of the 1Kings text is to show the idolatry of the people and to mock their false god. Is the potty-humor here mocking false gods and promoting the holiness of God? I am aware sarcasm is used in the Bible. I am also aware that 1Tim 3:2 says a church leader should be sober-minded and respectable. respectable fart jokes in church. right.

you wonder a LOT to arrive at your theological points

  • @ryanthecalvinist What you esteem so heavily, God esteems lightly. I'm sorry, are you actually suggesting that fart jokes are sinful?

  • @sorenkierkegaard2008 I do not imply that all immature jokes are sinful. I think that in certain conditions they are inappropriate. In a job interview. Also when meeting together for the express purpose of worshiping God. how does it give God glory to do potty humor? seriously? sure, it may get some brats laughing... but are we called to be entertaining or to proclaim the gospel in word and sacrament?

  • @ryanthecalvinist Since we're gonna throw common sense out the window and go sola scriptura here, could you, by chance, point me to the verse that lists fart jokes as a sin?

  • @sorenkierkegaard2008 we know that fart jokes are not expressly prohibited by label of "fart jokes." I would point out what I did earlier about the qualifications of being an elder... the importance of being sober-minded... reverent ... to think on things that are just, holy, praiseworthy, etc.

  • @ryanthecalvinist You're judging what is holy and reverent from an outside perspective- a lot like a pharisee.

  • @sorenkierkegaard2008 you cannot say "the Bible says very little about this area and what God is OK with... so I think he IS ok with it because I am the judge of what God is ok with by my reasoning." we don't create our own theology. we get it from the Bible. saying that God likes something when the Bible does not state it is attributing something to God that he has not revealed.

  • @ryanthecalvinist You don't start out assuming everything is a sin, unless there is a verse that lets it off the hook. Again, where is the verse to support your idea that fart jokes are a sin? You don't have one.

  • @ryanthecalvinist But speaking of things that aren't in the Bible- since you're gonna play the hardcore sola scriptura card, mr. calvinist- where is calvinism specifically in the bible? Since you're clearly so against extrapolation, it's rather ironic you're a calvinist.

  • @sorenkierkegaard2008 I have already cited to you examples of our need to be sober-minded. not a kill-joy. yet still sober, thinking on things that are praise-worthy. making fart jokes as a point to try to seem cool to entertain kids is not giving God glory. Church is not about entertainment. it is about preaching the salvation found in the crucified and risen messiah we worship.

cute try playing the pharisee card. I'm all gospel-based though. how do you judge it is holy and reverent??

  • @ryanthecalvinist You're extra-biblically inserting your own definition into reverent and sober-minded. To take oneself and one's human frailty, including our excretory system lightly is to remind others that we are not God. Elijah mocked a false god with it, and being self-depricating can be a way of mocking (justly) oneself, rather than being the sort of reverent that leads to papal infallibility and church leaders who take themselves too seriously. It is not irreverent to God in the least.

  • @sorenkierkegaard2008 I had NO idea that my recognizing that potty humor is in bad taste leads to papal infallibility. readlly dude. evil kenevil could not make that leap! ha! :) and I don't need to hear poop jokes in church to remember that I'm not God. I just need to be humbly reminded of my sins. that does the job just fine and points me to the cross, where I find forgiveness and eternal life as a result of Christ suffering God's wrath for my sake.

  • @ryanthecalvinist au contraire. Absolutely, it's the sort of thinking that leads to Jesus movies where Jesus has perfect hair and no bodily functions. And what I'm getting at is, if it's a sin, then a sin against whom? If it's not a sin, then there is no issue. Mocking another with it, certainly can be rude. But, give me a break, the guy's poking fun at himself, and showcasing his own humanity. Christ died to save people who poop- not merely people who've repented of their bodily functions.

  • @sorenkierkegaard2008 is God fully man in the person of Jesus Christ? YES. He IS at the SAME TIME the SOVEREIGN KING of the UNIVERSE and is HOLY. Are you implying you want to see a scene in a Jesus film where he is using the restroom? it seems that is what you are getting at. I hope not.

sins are always sins against God. that's why they are sins. d'oy

  • @sorenkierkegaard2008 i have said my peace. if you feel you need the last word for your ego's sake, feel free.

  • @ryanthecalvinist No, man. No hard feelings. It's a small hill for me to die on. We both love Jesus. That's all that matters.

  • @jesusfreakrkg If little kids laugh at it, it's safe to say God finds it funny. Jesus loved kids, kids find bathroom humor funny, and I bet you he loves that about them. It's when we grow up and start laughing at degrading sex jokes that I suspect God's humor diverges from man's.

  • @jesusfreakrkg Not to spam you with comments, but I would say it's the kind of humor that falls into the category of delighting in evil, as Ham did when he found his father, Noah, drunk and naked, or Sarah did when she mocked God by laughing at the idea that God was able to accomplish the seemingly impossible that displeases God. Instead, God laughs at man's proud boasting and claiming they are more powerful than him. Psalms says so. I tend to laugh with God on that one.

  • i dont have nothing against christians. I have something against youth ministries. For instance the last catholic one i saw tried to brain wash me by being 'hip and cool with it' and all of them seemed to be alcoholics who were saved by God. I have a problem with people lying to me to that extent

  • why do you have a relationship witha fictional character right at the top of ure order of life??

  • i hope this is a joke, and if it is, it sucks. If ur not a christian dont watch christian videos, and no one will have a problem

  • Great video, great idea, not blasphemy at all. I'd use it in my youth group and I would use clips from the office in my youth group to prove points. The End

  • Gimme a break people! A christiain is nothing more than a person who places top importance in God and the priciples and ideals set out in the bible. That does not equal perfect or lack of sense of humor. I think this is very funny. I see no sign of blasphemy and am happy to see this pastor make something entertaining for his youth.

  • Taking what to far exactly?

  • no not you! :) ha i mean the youth paster is just taking this jesus thing tooooo far trying to be funnny, but it's really to much

  • @phenom65 You like to lable? We call ourselves Christians mainly for a means of identification of religion. Its not something where we use it to boast and show others our spiritual supremacy. There is one thing you don't get, is that NO ONE WHO HASN'T ENCOUNTERED JESUS CAN GIVE A DEFINITION OF WHAT A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST IS OR DOES. You have NO IDEA what we really are and why we follow Jesus. No idea, so if you wanna know what being a Christian/Follower of God really is, at least TRY joining in :)

  • wowza, everyone's in an uproar, whatever, if a christian wants to try to be funny, then thats cool.

  • no, they're just showing how michael scott would run as a youth pastor.

  • Does anyone see this as blasphemy?

  • no just extremly lame

  • crap!

  • nice haha

  • at first i thought this was going to be making fun of church, but then i found out it didn't. I got to say, i was pretty disapointed by that...

  • This is closer to a documentary than a parody. It's time to euthanize youth ministry.

  • As a youth minister for 10 years and a huge Office fan, I loved this. You did a great job capturing how Michael Scott would appear as a youth minister. I look forward to watching episode 2, but right now I've got to prepare for tonight's Bible class.

  • The really sad thing is that on this whole page there is only one positive comment. If people would keep their negative thoughts to themselves this world would be a better place.

  • And yet I still don't like you.

  • take take it to heart love...its only youtube : )

  • this makes me want to slap them in the face... what a disgrace in the face of NBC.

  • you have got some heart . . . I'll give you that. Despite your honest efforts this sucks balls! ! !

  • this was terrible not funny at all

  • Are you people crazy, this sucks. I think every time Jesus sees these allegedly hip pastors try and ape what's current to be even more allegedly hip He wants to puke. Just be new, be creative. This makes Baby Got Bible look only semi retarded.

  • i think you're retarded

  • Intelligent comment, I assume your a Christian from a southern state. Can you elaborate on your denseness? Which two of your sensibilities did I offend?

  • Your comment totally contradicts itself in the fact that you say just be NEW and creative, but your mad about the fact that this pastor is takes a NEW and current show, that people enjoy, and throws a Christian spin on it. My previous comment was not appropriate, i'll give you that, but what was also inappropriate was you assuming on the part of Jesus which you have no business doing.

  • And seriously, a Christian from a Southern State? Where did God say in the bible that "Northern Christians" have the right to separate themselves and judge "Southern Christians?" I mean do you know anything about Christianity? He did not say go out and make divisions among yourselves, he said go out and make disciples of the world.

  • Just the fact that you feel so strongly about this piece of crap video denotes to me that your are really, really stupid. "If it's in, it'll be out" to quote Sammy Hagar. It's not a "Christian Spin." It's just bad. I've enjoyed this "new" show for 3 years (I don't know if that still qualifies as new, but I digress...) and this video only does the show a huge dis-service. You really liked that Chris Rice song with all the cartoon characters too, didn't you???

  • Yeah, but your second assumption, after "you're stupid", is "you must be from some place other than where I am from".

While I agree with you about this clip, you might consider an examination of conscience. Is this really Christian, responding to insults with insults, rather than blessings? Making assumptions about points of origin based on points of disagreement?

I mean, really, this ain't charity, and I know uncharitable. I have as much trouble walking the path as anyone.

  • I appreciate you response. I have reexamined my views regarding people from other areas of the nation and have personally ammended them. However, this video is still crap.

  • Oh yeah, definitely.

  • This is awesome, I am a huge office fan, and these totally cracked me up, keep up the great work!!

  • again: AWLSUM!

  • This guy is absolutely hilarious... is the guy who posted this the youth pastor?

  • I was hoping you would upload the Church Office videos. Thanks for giving us some great laughs at NYMC.
